I think dean def mentioned stuff about Gamescom tho, which is meant to be August 21st

 

He said there will be a playable version of the game at Gamescon, whether or not it's Alpha quality is another thing, perhaps the playable version will have lots of intended content for Alpha disabled for smoothness of gameplay and fewest bug/crashes available in such a time span.

All Dean has ever said about Gamescom is that he hopes to have a playable build ready, otherwise it'll be "a very painful experience" for him. I don't think it has any bearing on release whatsoever. As mentioned, the dev blog will give us a clearer indication as to where they're at in terms of that milestone, so hopefully that comes this week. Dean has been quite quiet on reddit both yesterday and today, which is a break in his constant communication during the past 2 weeks or so. To me, that points towards him working on the dev blog.

i think rockets will be aswell becuase people have given him time but there is only so much time that can be given and slowly its winding down t0 where people are like hey wtf mr rocket i want standalone. this can and must be annoying for him but there is only so much public will take before saying i actually dont give two shits anymore.

 

how the game has sorta missed a few possible release dates (dont go full retard on semantics he said she said shizzle ) one was christmas , possible for april maybe 2 months from june.

It doesn't indicate it.  In fact, it indicates that it may take longer than that to have a public release.  I don't know why people get these dates in their heads and then rage when they finally found out they were wrong.

Nobody here is saying that "he sad 21 AGUSTT!!1!!". All we can know from what he said is that he "hopes/wants/desires" the game to be out before that date for the gaming meeting to go well, and thats all.

 

There is simply and "literally" no release date, and if there are still people here saying "He zaid GAMEZCOM!!!1! Auguzt 21!!!" after all those clarifications and such, they then cannot be helped anyway..

Nail on the head, so any speculation otherwise is just a waste of time and will cause more problems than it solves. I don't think there will EVER be a release date (publicly anyway), one day someone will just stumble upon the Alpha in the Greenlight section of Steam. There won't be any warning.

It's all good.  Even the people raging and and hating on the game are only doing so because they want to play it.  The worst thing at this point would be if people just didn't give a shit and it seems to me that the interest is still very much there.

 

When I start getting frustrated with the community I go and have a peek at what's going on in other games in their forums.  It turns out we don;t have it so bad here.  The COD devs got death threats and and some of the worst abuse I've seen written in text because they nerfed a gun by 0.004747 or something.  It's all bollocks but at least they're passionate about it i guess :/

The alpha and Beta periods will be all about balancing the game as well as the bug fixing etc so don't worry too much.

 

There's only so much that they can do before they have to let us at it and see how it plays out.  I'd expect the first week or so to be hell tbh as peeps get stuck in and then as the devs start collecting data and player feedback they can start messing with the overall balance of the game.  That can't really be done with just one server and a few testers.

 

Edit - before anyone cries at me about balancing the game I just mean tweaking it and getting it to where they want it to be, I don't mean nerfing everything.

Misery 2.0 came out for Stalker CoP.  Needless to say,  standalone can come out in September for all I care!
