You can lol, it's just not as easy as visiting three places and being good to go.  You have to scavenge a lot more in the buildings etc.

I think that this will be a negative thing as too many people will linger around Cherno and Electro. I wish that the spawns were more on the east coast near Berezino. Then players would have to make the decision to head to the bigger cities to find industrial/residential loot for survival or to head to Stary/NWAF to get military gear. Right now there aren't enough reasons to hit up the east coast as you spawn near survival gear, then only need to get military gear. I think that resetting the spawns would create a much mess linear play style.

I *can* understand why folk jump to these opinions though.

 

Believe it or not we are not blind fanbois.

 

From a few stills or the leaks, I can understand folk jumping to conclusions but thats what the forums are for (inc. twitter/reddit etc) to find out the proper info.

 

We're not lying to anyone to fill our pockets with gold.

 

Mistakes will be made.

 

But, we are doing our best.

The whole spawn system has bee re-written so you'll find the gameplay very different.  Don't forget there's new places of interest being added, I'm hoping that those will draw some players away fromm the usual Cherno/Electro runs to gear up although I guess they'll always be a natural draw for players.  

 

If that doesn't work then high traffic areas becoming riddled with disease might I guess.

it's exactly the sort of change that people easily forget about, and it's important to stress once again how it will change and improve every other part of the game. Scarce varied loot that can spawn everywhere, will make you even more immersed and force you to be more careful and aware of your environment to not miss a potential important item hidden under some car wreck in the middle of nowhere. And just for that I'm super excited for the game.

I agree.  I'm hoping that over time the big cities will become so riddled with disease that only geared up players will dare venture there.

Yes, but if we are forced to spawn by them that could be a problem. I think that it would be annoying to spawn by the cities, know you don't have proper gear, then run 30 minutes to other areas to gear up (without starving/getting lost). I just wish we weren't forced to interact with the big cities until we actually decide to.

Yeh it's a tricky one to get right.  So far there's been no mention from the devs about messing with the spawn locations but I guess it could always change in the future.

I see the cities as being literal death traps, they're there to entice people in and then rip em a new one because their not prepared for the dangers within.

It'll make a refreshing change to the usual process of not getting to the hard areas of a game until you're geared up.

Actually, I can't think of a single art asset that has been directly ported from another BI project. And the only art asset that remains from the original mod currently is the military bandage. And that would probably only stay because I made it myself and it would be nice to have one art asset I actually made.

Mr. Rocketman! How is the Crimean Sparkling Wine doing? i asked for a goliath sized bottle once (27l)? never got an answer... do you have any information?

 

Absolutely want to do this kind of thing. But because they aren't items that have gameplay features they aren't the kind of thing to come in now (pre-alpha). We're putting a great deal of effort into making sure items that have gameplay features associated are attempted
