So zombies are just a nuisance again in 1.7.7.1

So now we stick with a broken patch (1.7.7.1) where zombies dont even do damage and the devs dont even care about fixing it? You didint even give 1.7.7 a week you hasted to "fix it" with 1.7.7.1 and now not even a eta on 1.7.7.2?

I am all for tough zombies, but totally against zombies that are only tough because they sit on the loot, hit through walls, or see 100m in directions they are not looking. Or zig zag up to you like a bunny hopper and cuff you in the head to knock you down and infect you as they go flying by. Or get to ignore the first ambush hit on them cause the game locks, they turn to you and hit you.

In a world were we cannot do anything to the zombies without a "weapon" it is just poor game design to even release the 1.7.7 version.

1.7.7, that's where rocket jumped the shark, hard.

I don't prefer any of that, I like Dayz and play it on survival. how does breaking it worse improve the things you mentioned.

the difficulty and buggyness in 1.7.7 would have needed a whole change to the nature of the game to be a good design, slower hunger and thirst, better access to ad hoc weapons and natural food. the ability to set traps to hinder Zs as they chase you.

Might be news to you, but your not tough or cool because you like a pathetically bad patch to a game.

Im sorry man im just pissed off on them "fixing" 1.7.7 so fast and not even left ppl adapt its been months since i had to crawl my way in to loot the south nw airfield barracks, it was an adrenaline rush man the old dayz was back, now it is run inside loot and get out without worrying about zeds its no fun, qhy did they "fix" it when there was a poll indicating that the maority of the players was ok with 1.7.7?

Devs can usually only push patches on Mondays (it needs to get passed by either Rocket/Matt I believe)

so yeah, .1 kinda killed the zeds. But they are aware of the that and I can personally say the next hotfix will fix them...just wait till Monday at least

What is a bad patch to you its not bad to me and not bad to many others, are you the owner of truth? Go see the poll where the majority of ppl liked the previous patch better than this one. And who are you to say my post arent worthy?

To any that say that "bugs" are what made 1.7.7 too hard, prove it. I had no problems with it, so why did you? Provide us with videos to show evidence of the difficulty being due to bugs. Do that I will then point out the flaws in your play style that inevitably lead to your demise.

The only valid bug people have, isn't even anything to do with the latest patch, beyond the zeds being more aggressive. The issue with zeds going through walls only occurs in buildings where the terrain clips up through the floor of the building, allowing zombie pathing to get them through walls.

Plain and simple, zeds are too easy again. I'm back to speed running through all and any towns until I see something I want to pick up. I'm sorry if you think so, but that is not the intended play style of this game.

Not sure if dead thread or not.

But zombies aggro so easily that it's a nuisance regardless of how much damage they do. -and before you ask, I do crawl, on soft terrain as well, and zombies will still see or hear me, even when the meters show no bars - what I assumed was being practically invisible.

I find myself getting really frustrated when I'm crouching in a market, collecting my beans, and I suddenly hear 3 zeds suddenly scream and rush into the store, blocking my exits without me needing to move, shoot or do anything that would normally aggro them.

Long story short; if they do 3k damage, I doubt I'd make it off the beach before I die from disease and/or hordes.

Maybe I just suck at the game, who knows, I'm not the owner of a massive ego so that's a definite possibility. But I've played earlier patches where zombie aggro was not such a huge issue, where I could safely crawl across town without being noticed. But now, specifically now, I'm constantly getting infected after a zombie I hadn't seen suddenly aggros me from across a corn field and comes to hit me when I crouch down to search a loot pile - and most of the time this is after I spawn, so I have no antibiotics to pop after I do get infected.

I would agree if the aggro wasn't such a huge issue. I have no problems with the idea that a zombie bite would deal some massive damage, but not when said bites comes through a solid wall.

Providing the zombies are working correctly and not malfunctioning [i.e. biting through walls], of course.

zeds will always be ''broken'' to some degree. Live with it, its a free mod for christ sake

but the way it was in 1.7.6.1 or 1.7.7.1 not played on the latest patch and dont feel i want to

i liked the harder zeds, going tru cities was a harder thing to do, u needed to be carefull again and think about what you did.

watch some zombie movies, they dont go into cities singing either do they? and arent they chased by a million zeds when they are seen either?

Zombies hitting tru walls hmm, wel it sucks yes it does but everyone knows this, just dont sit right next to a damn wall but go inside a building with space!

i dont see why some people are finding the 1.7.7 so hard, i see a zombie i headshot it or run for my life and yes i survive, its a litle harder but that was a good thing imo

i'm having heaps of fun on 1.7.7, even with antibiotics so rare, at least u know, STAY AWAY from Viral zeds!

i was like oh a viral RUN for ur LIFE!!

That was in 1.7.7 now in 1.7.7.1 there is a bug where zeds dont infec or do damage at all, and it is easy like hell to losse aggro on them unlike 1.7.7

thats why i said, i had heaps of fun on 1.7.7

not even played on 1.7.7.1 because of the lack of difficulty.

edit: but, i've hear it too that the dumbed down zeds are a bug in the hotfix

so crossed fingers they will get back to 1.7.7 for me personaly and many others

My video (were I was hit within 2 tries, knocked down and infected) was shot on 1.7.7.1.

What am I missing here? I know what I'm saying...it's that the current 1.7.7.1 is, in my opinion, unreasonably annoying. 1.7.7.1 is all risk, very little reward. I really wish people would stop vying for the top e-peen award and simply acknowledge the fact that a lot of people don't want to play in game were the player has little to no counter measures against a "cheating AI".

Just tried 1.7.7.1 this morning. Patch is still stupid. Endless zombie spawning all over. I don't have time to crawl for an hour to get tin cans.

In 1.7.7 you wouldn't of lasted 1 minute playing like you were in that video,nevermind 5 minutes, and considering there was zero attempt to be sneaky i'd say thats the way it should be.

I'm really unsure whether people are being honest or just swinging their dicks by saying the patch was easy for them. Here's my point of view, regardless;

In earlier patches, when zombies dished out more damage but had no infection, I liked it. The main reason why I did when I look back at it is because I could avoid zombies, I could sneak past them or even take one out quietly while the others remain oblivious. Alerting the horde was a death sentence with how strong they were, sure, but they didn't randomly aggro - or at least not that often.

Now, in 1.7.7.1 I believe, Zombies do less damage, but they aggro extremely easily. I've been spotted and charged by 3 zombies simutaneously whilst crawling on grass terrain in a large field. The zeds were nowhere near me and yet they could somehow sense me with no cue. With that in mind, its also really easy to get infected, and unless you stash up on anti biotics, you're going to get sick quite often.

I'm not saying 1.7.7.1 is hard, but it's frustrating. Old methods don't work, or they don't work as well as they used to. If I'm crawling on my belly for 20 minutes to get to a market, I don't want a zombie spawned right next to me or to alert one 3 blocks away.

Finding 1.7.7.1 much better than the previous as far as surviving goes, still get infected but at least its not like every encounter.

Prone, buildings and hills all still help losing zeds. As does actually watching their paths, waiting until there backs are turned before moving on etc

I've visited a lot more places on the map than I ever used to to find what I'm looking for thanks to loot being more scarce and I actually feel like I've achieved something by staying alive rather than ..oh well I'm dead, but Ill be back to where I am now in 30 minutes
