Dayz for Xbox One?

Recommended Posts

The fuck are you talking about? Didn't go well for Mojang!? It made Minecraft soooo much more popular. It beat CoD for most people playing online. Minecraft. Beat. CoD. Didn't go well for Mojang...pffffft.

Besides, community means nothing. Like I said before, it's all about money. All of you assholes have to stop being elitist. It shows how bad of a person you are. How sad of a human being you are.

First off, I'm dissapointed in how you are expressing your opinion. Insulting people over the internet is stupid.

Secondly, community doesn't matter? What a joke, without a community their would be no game.

Now go off and play with your other troll friends and stay off this forum please, because you have a very negative attitude to others.

maybe you should avoid the forum for quite some time, if you can't keep yourself together.

It doesn't matter if it's better on one than the other. It's the whole thing with elitism, and the fact that PC gamers don't want to lose anything, even if it would help them. Besides, the only difference is different version and controls. That's it. That's literally it. Texture packs and mods aren't necessary to have a good time, so don't even bring that up

maybe it is just because we don't want to see stupid CoD kids ruining the last remaining mature games and gaming communities we've got :P

just to add fuel to the flames

Not. Even. Close.

Plus, this won't generate as much money as you think. DayZ is played by the PC community, therefor releasing it on console wouldn't generate as much revenue as it would on PC. Not to mention how horrible it would play on console, as consoles can't handle that kind of graphics, on that big of a map, etc.

I've heard that the One is supposed to run off something similar to the 6670, the card that I'm currently using. So I highly doubt that it would be a problem, seeing as consoles aren't supposed to go 60+ frames to begin with. Also as for "It's for the PC community" - There are still plenty of people who would love to play DayZ for the consoles because they'd rather not shell out $900 for a pc that can run it (Not that you need a $900 PC for DayZ, but you're going to want a PC that can run more than just Arma).
Not to mention how horrible it would be to play on a controller, as DayZ had a crazy amount of buttons, and to implement that on console it would result in dozens of "combos" which would be tedious and stupid.
There aren't as many buttons as you think are being used. Aim, shoot. (Triggers). Lean (Bumpers), Hold Breath, right analog and a "Menu" which can EASILY be scrolled through with the D-Pad.
I personally feel releasing DayZ on console, would be like releasing Counterstrike (though I heard CS:GO is on console), World of Warcraft, and ArmA on console, it just doesn't belong.

Oh you mean Counter-Strike for the Original Xbox? It actually did very well. Also, ARMA 3 has accessibility for the Xbox-360 controller, so be ready because they've already begun mapping out controls.

Yeah, but for $900 or even a little more, you can get a PC with a much better GPU than a 6670 (nothing against the 6670), and you get get a better processor, mobo, etc as well. Plus you can do a lot more on a PC then you can do on a console.

And as for controls, there is aim, shoot, lean, stand, crouch, prone, vault, binocs, reload, compass, map, gps, animations, free look, switch weapons (between primary and secondary), gear, cycle weapons (i.e. "F"), etc, etc.

And I heard they released CS:GO on PS3? But I could be wrong. And I know someone who played ArmA 2 on a Xbox controller, it's just a pain in the ass, as there is not enough buttons, without using combos.

If you want to play a pc game you should have at least the required hardware and not the "minimum" because minimum is most often a lie. The PC is for people who can afford it, consoles are for those who don't want the trouble having to upgrade the PC every 2-3 years or I can't say they hdon't have the money because the peripherals and games are pretty expensive. But you can't have companies develop games backwards because you can't get it running. It's like participating in a race with mom's station wagon and demanding a speed limit because your car doesn't go that fast... You buy cheap you get cheap, that's how it goes, if you want to play on the same system for 8 years a console is the best choice but don't expect any major technical leaps.

That's cool, but it's not about "What you can do on the PC". It's about being able to play DayZ, not any other misc side stupid shit like looking up porn and playing LoL.

Aim - Left/Right Trigger (Lefty Flip), stand/crouch - press B. Prone, hold B. Vault- A. Binoculars, hold UP D-Pad. Compass, Hold Back. Map, Press Back. GPS/Watch, Left/Right D-Pad. (Animations, really? Fucking Darksouls even has Animations rigged so give me a break) Switch Weapon - Y, Gear - Start. (Cycle Weapons/RoF could work the same way it works in battlefield, down on the d-pad). You really think that you have a lot more buttons than you actually do. Even Metro Last Light works on 360 with it's retarded amount of useable items.
And I heard they released CS:GO on PS3? But I could be wrong. And I know someone who played ArmA 2 on a Xbox controller, it's just a pain in the ass, as there is not enough buttons, without using combos.

CS: GO is available on both the Xbox 360 and the PS3. And Counter-Strike (Original) was released on the Original Xbox around 2002. And it did, quite well.

I don't know them well, I don't think that next gen consoles specs would be able to handle such an extrensive map, but I could be wrong. I was never talking about watching Porn and playing LoL? You don't need a good PC to do either, and you can watch Porn on console.. o.O

And there are plenty more buttons, look at the control menu in ArmA 2, all of those have uses. I never said it was impossible, but it will be a pain.

They could release it on console, and honestly, if they want to, go for it (please make 2 forums though please), but the console version would have to be different than the PC version. But no-one can really make a deffinate conclusion on if a console can run it, becaue as far as I'm concerned, the system requirements for SA haven't been released, and the specs for next gen consoles haven't been released.

And as for CS:GO, I don't think it did that great on PS3, and 360. And I'm not saying it's a revenue thing, I'm personally saying that I don't feel it belongs on console (same as DayZ). It's a moral thing.

More so that Counter-Strike has a lot to do with modding and skins, something not available on the Xbox. Something that wouldn't be allowed in DayZ presumably either (Or else I could just make every player model a giant white pallet with the words "ENEMY" written in red on it). It wouldn't have to be too different either, you aren't running shit that happens up in NE airbase when you're in Cherno on your pc. And seeing the size of the map for GTA 5 - Coming to CURRENT gen consoles, I doubt your argument holds much water besides "I don't like it, so they aren't allowed to play the same version I am". Edit: Also, a Moral thing? All of you complain about CoD kiddies, but you seem to forget that CoD was a PC game first. Leaving Big Red One and Finest Hour for the consoles instead. But it seems like it did better enough on the consoles to have switched completely. Edit: Edit:

Much like how many people bought Skyrim for the PC - Not because they "Loved point and click sword play", but because they liked the ability to add whatever they wanted to the game. Graphics mean shit when you have the fun of spawning in a DovahBear. Edited by AllDayZSimon

Well, I got PS3 and assuming this game comes out to consoles I can either upgrade my CPU or simply buy it to my PS3 (I prefer buying a new CPU though). But, I am planning to buy the XboX ONE. Will DayZ come out to the Next-Gen consoles ?

If it does, and thats a big if, it would take well over a year from now as they would most likely wait till the game is a full release and not an alpha.

Also, if it were to be realeased, it would be released for next-gen consoled. Current consoles such as PS3, and Xbox 360 couldn't handle something as big as DayZ.

More than likely if the Standalone is a success. In my view it just would fail miserably, it would become Minecraft Xbox 2.0, a completely dumbed down version of the game and comply with casual gamers.

I only wanted peoples opinions on having Dayz on Xbox not all this shit with people hating on consoles and people saying the PC is the master race. I want to hear from people who have some input into the topic. It's just mostly PC elitists bringing down consoles that honestly shouldn't have a say in the matter because they are just going to say NO NO NO. But it's selfish for people who can't afford or don't want any hassle with PC gaming. I think it would be a great idea but others seem to think differently. It will widen the community for Dayz and will help the production of the game even further. Look at minecraft for example. It was just a PC only game then when it came to Xbox it sold over 1 million copies in the first week and 5 million more since release. I can't say for sure it will be the same with Dayz but it sure as hell will pay for it's self when released. Everyone loves zombie games and Dayz is one of these games that almost everyone that plays games has heard of. So there is a lot of benefits to it coming to Xbox One, only thing i can see being the problem is that the hardware might not be as good as it needs to be. I don't think the map size would have to be tampered with so it could stay the same size as current. I just hope that it comes to a point when Dayz is officially out and Dean thinks it is time to come to console.

So everyone that reads on from this point please leave constructive feed back or at least your thoughts on it. I don't want people that are part of the 'PC MASTER RACE' to continue with your general console hate. I play PC a lot more than console but I am thinking of everyone in this case. I want to see people on consoles enjoy themselves as well. So please stop hating on consoles and actually try and think about others in this sense. Everyone deserves to play such a great mod and soon to be game.

You should expect this to happen if you even mention consoles here.

So would it be possible some time down the line for Dayz to be released on Xbox One. I play Dayz a lot but it would be a cool edition for when ever I go to a friends house i could still play Dayz. I remember a while back it was mentioned but i would like to bring the topic back to life as the NextGen consoles have now been announced and just looking at the specs i could see it being possible. So what does everyone else think.

I don't understand the logic behind this. If you or your friends don't own a PC to play DayZ then I say tough luck. This franchise would go in the shitter if they cross platformed.

Once again, there are so many things they would have to do to implement DayZ for consoles, it wouldn't be worth it.

So in otherwords, FUCK CONSOLES.

It wouldn't be cross-platform developed though. I'm pretty sure a port would only be started when DayZ goes gold.

Besides that, Rocket has said his guys wouldn't handle any console ports, it'd be done by a 3rd party.

A potential PS4/XboxOne version, somewhere down the road, will have no impact at all on DayZ development. It just allows BI to reach a wider audience.

And to you I say, Fuck off. I own a a PC and it wasn't very cheap. It cost me just under 1000 Pounds. The only reason i bought a PC was for LoL and Dayz. I want others to enjoy the game but it is obvious you are a selfish person.

If DayZ was to be released on consoles, it would be dumb'd down and make the game half of what it really is. If you have a 360 at the moment, go buy Minecraft or CS:GO and see how much better each are on PC than they are console.

I'm refering to current consoles, not next gen. And I don't believe the next gen consoles' specs have been released yet. Also, I highly doubt it will sell "ten times as many" copies, based on the assumption that it will go to console in the first place.
