New patch coming soon to dayz

Recommended Posts

Hey R4Z0R49, don't you think it might be a better idea to add attachments to the loot table instead of having to craft them? No offense, but crafting military grade scopes out of glass bottles seems more than a little unauthentic.

We cant please everyone :-(

I like the direction the game is headed I truly do not fault that. However, my biggest concern is about the feasibility of all the changes being placed into this coming patch. I'm more of a babysteps approach and see the upcoming changes as a gigantic leap in one direction (be it good or bad). I think in the end the changes are going to be fantastic... but I see a lot of errors and issues arising from making too many changes in one giant leap rather than in a stepped process.

Yes and No. The hardest one would be the GL attachment all the rest are pretty dam easy to build in your back garden. Google them and you will find wikis on every last one :-)

Most of the attachments are pretty simple in terms of engineering.

To be fair the only group that don't have access to .7 at this time is well the dayz community a few of the other mods have had the files sometime not to mention the different testing groups we have going. Dean wont be back for another 3 weeks give or take. Our last two big systems is the base's and rewrote melee combat system. None of them will hit .7 the crafting was the last item to hit this version now its down to testing.

Hmm. I still don't find it all that authentic (I don't think you'd find blueprints for a red dot sight lying around, not to mention that you have to sight in your weapon), but it it's seem cool for gameplay.

That's the only thing that is what I would be concerned about. With the amount of material (and from the looks of it, it is quite a lot) there are exploits, loopholes and errors that may not be apparent. Rather than holding off and doing one massive change and seeing what works all at once in the future perhaps smaller scale updates more regularly would be easier to manage in a controlled environment. I realize that this comes off as arrogant and unappreciative -- truly that's not my intention at all. I have a lot of thanks to give for a job well done on my behalf toward the DayZ Team, my only concern is that on release day of this patch there is going to be chaos.

Just a thought..... But I still see a lot of fake heroes, there's nothing to stop groups blood bagging each other and shooting each other to gain a hero skin to get humanity

Any chance of a system where you only gain lets say humanity 2 times for each player you encounter

So you heal someone 2 times and gain a few hundred humanity but then There's a cool down of 1 hour before you will gain humanity from healing that same person again

This might see a decrease in fake hero skins

I'd say you should only get humanity if you bloodbag strangers. Why get humanity if you bloodbag friends just because you got shot or hit by a zombie? Humanity is how you view the world and other humans not loved ones and friends.

How this mechanic could possibly be put in game however is up to those programmer wizard types with their voodoo magic.

there is a tag system in epoch for friends maybe expand on this . obviously if you are with someone for a period of time then you must be fairly friendly. so maybe make it work on time spent with other person.

M107 and AS50 gone? I'm all for crafting weapons or whatever, but totally removing prized possessions is a bit ridiculous.

Much of the game is about finding rare items or weapons, not dumbing down the playing experience to appease those who don't invest the time. Sorry, finding a spiked bat or shovel is about as exciting as stumbling upon toilet paper and razors.

yeah, it's fun to shoot someone from ~ 1 km. Especially when nearly every child has that stuff.

I don't really know what everyone is complaining about with as50s and m107s being removed seeing as you now need 2 shots when barely even trying to aim instead of 1

All it means is that it's going to take you half a second more to bring someone down as you fire a second shot with a sniper rifle

It's not a big deal, it just means you need to actually have some skill instead of aiming in a players general direction, Not bothering to zero and clip off their finger nail with an as50 and kill them

Gasp, is it finally true... removal of camper f*g gear number uno, AS50... and M107 to boot! Prepare for a horde of crying bandits!

Ahahahahahahahaha... oh god it hurts to laugh. Prized possession indeed... I have seen more AS50's equipped by players than any other weapon.

If rifles are getting nerfed and/ or removed, let's consider removing Satchel charges, M240 LMGs from the Huey, Night vision goggles, MK mod, M249, GPS, and Rangefinders. Since we're shooting for the element of realism and to keep gameplay from turning into too much of a yawnfest, might I suggest adding Teddy Bears, slingshots (you must find tennis balls as ammo and adding toilet paper to your balls increases damage), rubber bullet launcher, and chocolate hearts (giving away chocolate hearts to other survivors that suffer from depression increases your humanity).

I don't know what servers you've been playing on, but if you've seen more AS50s equipped in game than any other weapon, perhaps consider the fact they were scripted in.

Between having to store all these mats for crafting, food, and other necessities... We better be getting more ways to store things. While I believe we should be able to craft basic attachments, I think players should have to find scopes and more complicated extras. I really haven't seen anyone craft a red dot in their home and I hang around a lot of rifle enthusiasts, as I am a shooter myself.

* [REMOVED] - M107 & AS50.

I really think you're pleasing a vocal minority and hope that Rocket gets back, he puts a stop to this like he did the street lights.

You're detracting from the experience of those players that value the pay off of spending a multitude of in-game hours looting to find something really rare. End-game loot like these .50 cals is what keeps this game interesting once your character has managed to find some mid-end loot like an assault rifle and everything he needs to survive in the wilderness.

You're also detracting from the unforgiving nature of DayZ, where death can come from anywhere at any time, with no warning.

And to those saying that the AS50 is not rare. Since the newest patch (1.7.6.1), I've spent about 90 hours playing vanilla, public server DayZ and in that time have found about 50 helicopter crashes. In all of that time and all of those heli crashes, I have found exactly 0 AS50s. They are extremely rare.

I appreciate that the community mod team has made some excellent changes since it took over, but reducing content from a mod that was not exactly rich in it to begin with is a poor decision.

You are correct a few of the more advanced sights wont be created but found. The move basic ones like the L shape red dot will be created.

Someone did mention this in the last page. But remember the crafting is WIP so it will change this is why im not giving more examples yet

That's a fantastic idea, all the items you listed have no place in a game like this.

As for the rest of your post, I couldn't make it out, it was all a little blurry due to all the tears.

Thank you R4zor, these patch notes look awesome and very much moving in the right direction.
