doodleisbrutal 33 Posted March 7, 2013 Maybe like a cat, you can get laser light things and zombies follow them around when they hit a surface, but it might be difficult for them to see at first, and you have to move it slowly
OrLoK 16188 Posted March 7, 2013 Hello thereWhen I first read this I thought. Jebus what a daft idea. But a few seconds of reflection made me rethink. I actually like this idea of a way of moving zeds silently around. It could make for some interesting scenarios.RgdsLoK
Derpy_Hooves (DayZ) 4521 Posted March 7, 2013 NVG laser lightshow anyone?? (Great fun btw)

joe_mcentire 2074 Posted March 7, 2013 not sure if i should start a "general zombie distraction methods"-thread.... got some ideas
terrorizer33 131 Posted March 7, 2013 (edited) Idea is cool, but might even be better to just combine it in the scope of a gun... Laserscope showing up on nvg as wel... Edited March 7, 2013 by terrorizer33
Talibambi 119 Posted March 7, 2013 I figure the lasers would damage NVGs if aimed at them. Could be wrong.

Their main way of locating survivors is hearing afaik.I figure the lasers would damage NVGs if aimed at them. Could be wrong.Possible if they don't shut down. A flashlight should also be enough to shut it down, too. Edited March 7, 2013 by Enforcer
doodleisbrutal 33 Posted March 8, 2013 there could also be more powerful lasers, like ones where u see the stream but it goes further, and players can see where the laser is coming from
INickeragua 121 Posted March 8, 2013 I like the idea of lasers. my all time favorite thing to do is Dayz is put on some NVG and noscope zeds with my L85 laser. lol idk about the zeds following it though.
sausagekingofchicago 4711 Posted March 8, 2013 I like it. I'm also partial to sticking chemlights, flashlights, and flares on zombies. (hopefully direct light will attract zombies in the future :D )
radivmoe 47 Posted March 8, 2013 Idea is cool, but might even be better to just combine it in the scope of a gun... Laserscope showing up on nvg as wel...except it would be very inaccurate

But I like star-wars too
OrLoK 16188 Posted March 8, 2013 Hello thereI have a few cheap under 5w lasers and you can see the beam with the naked eye at night no problem. And for miles as well.It just has to be in the visible spectrum. They run off standard AAA batteries, nothing hi tech at all.Mil spec lasers for sight use are not in the visible spectrum but NVGs etc pick them up. They are pretty accurate. The Mil spec ones are already in vanilla A2/OA.Lasers are pretty much old hat tech wise :)RgdsLoK
o-richardson@live.co.uk 34 Posted March 8, 2013 I figure the lasers would damage NVGs if aimed at them. Could be wrong. They dont damage the NVG, They impair the user's ability to see for a few minutes as the eye's need to re-adjust to the ambient light. The NVG themself's also need to re-adjust the surface etc.Try wearing nvg's and looking at a flare. You will be blind! Trust me though. do it in real life and you feel like you have been blinded

mr_chabowski@live.co.uk 2416 Posted March 8, 2013 I wouldn't consider any room with zeds in it a cleanroom.I've got a front mount laser on my M9 bb gun. It's only visible for a couple of inches before it diffuses away. But it's visible, even at daytime.I did have a green laser. Could literally see it for miles, and it was only a fiver. Hardly mil-spec, but that's besides the point.Zombies should react to light, even if their eyes are nackered.Torches and fires should at least intrigue them a little. Maybe lasers are too hard to see for a zed though.
OrLoK 16188 Posted March 8, 2013 Green is the way forward for visability. A bit easy to trace you back though.I find different animals react differently to laser light. So it would be nice to use em as a decoy/entrapment technique.NEVER point ANY laser at people or wildlife kids. lasers can easily do permanent damage to your eyesight. Wear the proper eye protection for your class of laser!mm'kay?
