tombom 28 Posted January 25, 2013 I'm not even pushing this hard nor do i know if it's been mentioned but i think it's interesting enough. Obviously you can get ill but i am talking about getting the zed virus. You would slowly lose motor control and what not and eventually lose control of your guy as he becomes a zombie. It wouldn't be as interesting in the mod but in SA if Rocket is really considering mutations and special zombie types maybe you would become one of those and get to control it. tombom 28 Posted January 25, 2013 yeah like i said just a thought i mean if he wants the full package you have to have infected players. I think it would be great especially for a group of people. Imagine the paranoia of finding out one of your party is infected and deciding to just kill him now or later, imagine that and the two of you have a gun and he isn't going down without a fight. You've already respawned somewhere else, starting a new life.EDIT: Wouldn't it be cool/sad if you met one player, you have a friendly talk but he doesn't join you. The Zombies in SA should be a side dish, they CAN be deadly but after hardening to the game and learning loot spots they should be a deadly nuisance. Survival should be your main priority IMO then the unlikely PvP shootouts which I tend to avoid.To the point about the Z infection I don't actually mind the idea but it'd have to be EXTREMELY advanced as in, Zombie bites your arms/legs you can get a friend to amputate the struck limb which would limit you to only side arms with poorer accuracy. Your getting hungry quicker than usual.Stage 3: So thirsty. Now that you can't see 750m+ and you need more food, Thirst is becoming more of a priority.Stage 4: Reaction times are slower. Need to get rid of some players and zombies? actions occur 2 seconds after.Stage 5: Aim is slightly off and stamina is really short. It takes 3 seconds to start running.Stage 6: No more colour. All your surroundings are black and white.Satge 7: No more Beans. Meat is the only way to replenish hunger.Stage 8: Zombie. That is it, times up. fletchernut 29 Posted January 25, 2013 I hate this. Player zombies would, one, cause a lot of problems, and two, would be annoying. Playing as a zombie. Walking around the vast Chernarus with no weapons, and as a zombie you can't do anything but walk around and try to bite a survivor. I would instantly become bored to death as this would eliminate all of the survival, looting, and PvP aspects of the game. Literally all you would do is walk around a look for a player to try and slash at.If I became a zombie in game, I would try and commit suicide as soon as possible. Jump of a building, something.When Rocket talks about becoming infected from zombies, I think he means more that the zombies can give you the gallons of disease they have (being a rotten corpse and all) when they slash at you. CreepySalad 108 Posted January 25, 2013 I like the idea of zombies being a HUGE danger.I don't want special zombies or controllable zombies, but turning into a zombie when bitten by one would be really cool.It'll make people think twice about firing their guns, or running into a town.I also like the reanimation thing, where your body comes back with all of your old stuff.This way, you can't just waltz over to the location your body was, and loot it.The immunity to the zombie outbreak seems kinda...eh, considering that there are usually 20+ people on a server, and how small the giant playground is.It's hard to explain. Obviously i said people would probably try to be zombies all the time, and i never said put special infected i just said i heard there would be. Again you dont even have to play as one once you die you respawn and your corpse walks around dead with all the gear. I just thought it would make group interactions more interesting. If they were such a big danger, people MIGHT want to group together. But then again, it might not have that effect. I wouldn't want being hit by zombies to be a definite/probable infection chance, though. Maybe it only has a chance when they make you bleed, and even then it's only 1/qo or 1/20 chance. It wouldn't be a huge chance of getting infected its just a possibilty. The only thing you would have to worry about is not looting your dead body, ooooo no you mean i cant just not suffer consequences? I just am discussing the idea. It's a very interesting concept and i have always been bothered that zombie games haven't used this mechanic until recently with Operation Raccoon City or whatever.
