  1. TOPIC RAMPAGEEEEEE Different things should be rare rather than the things that are rare now. Cars should be more common, ammo should be less. Fuel should be what is rare to regulate vehical usage. Ammo and guns I feel are a bit too common. It's very easy to find a pistol in a hotel or something, and it shouldn't be I think. You should find maybe a few hunting rifles out in the forested areas, but things like pistols and assault rifles should be very uncommon compared to low-level shotguns and rifles. In order to bring balance to the combat, what we should do is allow more things to be used as melee weapons. I know we're not going to be able to make EVERYTHING to be a weapon, but maybe be able to pick up a broom and smack zombies with it. Or a frying pan or whatever. Knives are probably quite common. In order to make THAT part cool enough to engage players, we should add a better combat system. But that's in the works if I remember correctly, so I'll skip that. To adapt to the change of the "improvised weapon" mechanic, the inventory and how you pick things up have to be way more simple. Like, WAY more simple. You know how in L4D, you look at something, press E, and BAM, it's in your hands? That's how easy it should be. Make items more individual rather than in piles, and add a pick up and drop button. With the addition of the new hotbar, you should allow players to choose a slot to put the picked up item in. So...for example, a player's being chased by a dude who wants to kill him. He dashes into the nearest house and his pursuer is right on his tail. He walks right to the stove, presses 8, then E, and picks up a pan. Bashes the dude's head a few times, then presses Z to drop his temporary used weapon, as he doesn't want to keep it. This will add flow to the game, and provide a more streamlined experience. Sounds great to me. RECAP: -WEAPONS SHOULD BE MORE RARE -FUEL SHOULD BE MORE RARE -CARS SHOULD BE MORE COMMON -PANS AND OTHER REGULAR ITEMS SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE USED AS WEAPONS -PLAYERS SHOULD HAVE THE ABILITY TO QUICKLY PICK THINGS UP AND USE THEM, THEN DROP THEM.

    A few SA Suggestions!

In order to add panic to the game, we need to player to feel panicked I think. Unfortunately, this game doesn't do that, and I don't have any ideas how to do that. In DayZ, all anyone cares about is the loot. That's it. When they die, they're not upset that they died, they're upset they lost their NVGs. So when someone near them dies, they don't care. There needs to be a way to make the player care BESIDES items. (NO LEVELING.) I care when I die in Project Zomboid. This is because I created the character, and when I die, it's over. I don't load on the same map, with the same events or NPCs, with the zombies in the same place. In Day Z, you spawn in the same server, with the same players, and your body is where you left it. So items aren't that much of a big deal either. I think they're too common. It's too easy to get top gear, and once you do, you do. You've got nothing else to do besides take out players because they're the only ones that provide challenge. All the other ideas are great, but it would be better if we could get panic out of the player, and not the character the player is playing as. It would cause dissonance between the two, and ruin the immersion of the player I thinks.
  3. So you're waltzing around wherever with some friends. Blah blah blah, long story short, you get shot by a sniper. With the current way you see and hear things, you have no idea where the shot came from, most likely. Even if you weren't hit, you should be able to tell where it came from with something else that isn't sound. Muzzle flash. You'd see the flash of light from the distance, and be able to figure out where the sniper is and hide accordingly. This isn't very noticeable in Day Z, and it's kinda silly. Well, let's say your team was facing away from the sniper. No muzzle flash...but there's also no gunshot sound. Why is that? Guns are hella loud. What could completely silence a gunshot? Oh yeah, a silencer. The ones that don't actually SILENCE a gunshot. They're mostly there to hide muzzle flash, and without subsonic ammo, they don't really hush up that much. So what am I saying considering I'm awful at this thing? BASICALLY, muzzle flash should be more visible, and supressors shouldn't make a gun sound like a feather falling onto a puddle of water. RECAP WITH SIMPLE POINTS: -MORE MUZZLE FLASH -SUPRESSORS SHOULD'T MAKE GUNS SILENT, INSTEAD, THEY SHOULD LOWER THE EFFECT OF MUZZLE FLASH -ADD SUBSONIC AMMUNITION FOR GUNS THAT DO LESS DAMAGE AND TRAVEL SHORTER DISTANCES -MAKE GUNSHOTS MUCH LOUDER

    Buildings with Security Systems

    No thank you.

    Gun Sounds

I would love more "impactful" gunshots. I hate the quiet pews of the current guns. Loud gunshots are best gunshots.

    factories

I don't like the whole "restarting the factory to fix things" thing. A generator won't hold nearly enough fuel to power one of these machines. Generators should be used for small scale things. (Lights in player made bases/cities.) Those town generators should not be "fixable" in my honest opinion. It feels like it removes from authenticity, and that would suck and remove the feeling of worry or helplessness from the game I thinks.

    reading and boardgames

I totally love this idea. It'll immerse you in the experience. Just having more things to do that aren't murder related would be really cool.

    Respawn Timer

How about moving you to a new server with the same amount of players after death instead? It'll provide even more incentive to not die, especially if you're playing with friends. Everyone will play it safer. Hell, it could lower the amount of KoSing too. Who would want to take the risk?

    Melee combat

i love this idea a whole bunch. i would love realistic melee combat in this game.

Holding a key to raise weapon? Your thoughts

I think it would be quite interesting. I think it would work well.
