A question regarding the gamma/brightness trick...

Recommended Posts

Will it be possible to remove these options from the server, so that everybody's brightness and gamma are locked at 1.1?

I'm sick of people using this. Lrn2use flashlights and flares.

And tell me how you would shoot me once I turned off the flashlight, once I realized I was getting shot at, hmm?

I would guess removal of gamma settings will not happen. Perhaps a tweak on the upper limits though.

Alright. All we can do is hope.

The answer is no, you can't. Even if you remove it from the game itself there are a vast number of ways to increase it outside of the game.

That is unless you plan on building computers specific to dayz and marketing them with the game.

That being said, DayZ is plenty dark enough. The problem is 99% of the population begs for all full moon nights.

Are you kidding me? What does my nationality has to do with anything? I guess there is no reasoning with you since you'll keep coming up with irrelevant kiddy trash talk since you're so pro and that you would kill me in-game. It's so sad.

Just.... just get off the Internet.

People jealous of our low interest rates, low unemployment rate, stable economy and the fact that we are just so lucky to live in such a beautiful and free country.

Sure you could fix it. Just make everything uniformly black unless there is light on it. The only reason the gamma thing works is because it jacks up the contrast between objects that are black and those that are a slightly darker shade of black.

I'd like to see more flashlight / flare / chemlight use. It's really freakin creepy.

It's pretty much only Americans that like to talk shit about Canadians.

The best part is, no one likes Americans, except themselves :P

We don't like each other that much. Why do you think we have more guns than any other country?

Don't forget our free health care system. We love it.

But why has this thread turned into a nationality debate? I suggest this topic be locked (Sorry OP, not your fault.)

Canadians don't even need their gamma or brightness turned up to see at night in DayZ. Something to do with government rules on LCD screens.

Even if you took away the gamma settings, people can still adjust their monitors, they'll find a way hahah.

Adjusting a setting in game is a trick? lol ok then. I just look at it as my pupils dilating. But whatever you need to help you say alive. If it is pitch blackness just shut your PC off and your guy will live forever and your screen will look just like DayZ at night.
