Hartraft 100 Posted January 13, 2013 wow the full release is going to be about 50€ then?I would be more than happy to pay $27 for a great game (converted 18 pounds to AUD) even more so for something like DayZ. I know it will be a foundation but who cares, you have paid the discounted price and now own the game and all the future updates. If the game eventually gets up to $50, $60, $70 I'm sure the benifit will far outweigh the cost. If the cost is going to be a problem...buy the discounted game!
DemonGroover 8836 Posted January 13, 2013 wow the full release is going to be about 50€ then? The price is a one off payment of 18 Euros. This gets you the initial release and all the ensuing updates.I haven't heard any mention of a different price for when the game is 'finished'

Talibambi 119 Posted January 13, 2013 (edited) I would actually support more difficult startup and handling mechanics rather than more simple ones. It would require a dedicated member of a group to be the pilot, someone who knows how to do it and can perform in difficult situations. Also it would prevent just any noob running to a helicopter and taking of with it, and then crashing it a few minutes later. Makes the entire thing so dispensable. You really think that making things more difficult is going to stop people attempting to fly helicopters and crashing? If anything you would want to have to "train" skills in order to be able to fly copters more effectively. This would mean that all the players in the server could technically "fly" a chopper. However those who have "Trained" the skill get a faster startup, fuel efficiency, handling. (etc)But really NOTHING is going to stop people from flying (and crashing) choppers. Edited January 13, 2013 by Talibambi

Meeshe 170 Posted January 13, 2013 There's a closed stress test upcoming that is invite only. Most peeps believe that the SA is only a month or so away from reality. It will be available on Steam. There are a lot of threads here talking about it so you've already found the best place to learn about the SA in my opinion :) . http://dayzdev.tumblr.com is a great place to get up info directly from the developers.. Glad you found this game, I jsut started playing myself in anticipation of the SA and am loving it.

ImageCtrl 719 Posted January 15, 2013 Is easy to fly. You should worry about the "repair chopper system" in dayz sa. :P Nice video.
fabi.rohde@web.de 1 Posted January 15, 2013 (edited) There's a nice interview with Matt made by RhinoCrunch. They discuss various aspects of the closed testing foundation, the delay of the SA and much more here: Edited January 15, 2013 by Rantanplan666
slivniku@gmail.com 93 Posted January 15, 2013 (edited) I beg to differ. nice vid, but if they implement this (well, its not TOH), then they better implement keys / hotwiring a car, gear changes, manual loading of weapons etc; even realism has limits Edited January 15, 2013 by Xul
hogscraper 328 Posted February 3, 2013 I beg to differ. That video was both amazing and hilarious at thinking how many people would just give up or crash after five minutes of flipping switches. Like trying to teach a monkey to play a concerto by just handing them a violin. I wish most things in this game took a lot more thinking and skill than just point and click. Almost like an adventure game where exploring an object or technique would yield far better results than just trying the default thing and moving on.
