I agree - we should wait until they are publically available, after all that is what DayZ Commander has done in the past.

Wait until they are publicly available to all servers, hopefully AlexSpain has a change of heart on the matter.

I have to agree with the above posters. As much as I'd like to see it on commander, it is wise to hold off. Shame though I'd love to see this great map become more popular.

part of my wants to say get it on there now..

but i understand Josh's reluctance after the last fiasco..

guess a little more time wont be that bad.

ps i ended up getting Tav. to work using play with 6, but i def. prefer the dayz cmder proggy.

That was sarcasm based on the map people's decision, there loss really. It will be the last thing on many players minds if they don't get it out faster, SA will be everyone's poison for a while!

For anyone who hasn't seen it, the announcement from DayZLand regarding the files was:

Only shitmakers stop us to release direct link to our work.

How to:

go to DayzLand board -> make request -> not in our shitmakers list -> take key and server files

Shitmakers go to have server files in the end, if they no change the side.

Also from what I've read Taviana is its own mod so you'd have to change between the latest version of Standalone and the latest version of Taviana to play. Is this true? If so, can it be changed?

I understand that they have worked in co-operation with the Island maker but this does seem a little unfair and will only serve to divide the DayZ community.

There is enough conflict going on with this Island already (not related).

I suppose like every end user I'd love to see another map available, but if I'm in DotJosh's shoes I'm staying out of this one until the squabbling is resolved. You don't deserve the headache.

Plus, anyone with half a brain can get Taviana up and running without DC. It's fairly simple, esp. with that member-made how-to video (sorry, don't have the name or link, but kudos--or beans in this case) Then find servers and launch it with DC like normal. The only reason I'd like DC to add it is to spread popularity, so that more servers become available. The only reason anyone has heard of it is because of Frankie's video, IMO.

As long as they are thought through and complete, I welcome any new maps, esp. if they introduce new vehicles or weapons or gear.--it was only Chernarus for so long, all the sniper spots, and even trees, have names.
