I don't think it is bashing, I personally find Jack and also Frankie very entertaining and the interview was well done no question, but as I stated before, I am more than happy that Rocket is not going the easy way and turning this into another FPS multiplayer game like Battlefield, CoD, Counterstrike, Crisis or whatever. People who want to play Wasteland or on 1000 vehicles+ extended military loot servers will have the chance to do so later on when modding will be fully supported. I think that a lot of the "great youtubers" are maybe a bit afraid that the DayZ SA will not be that good for making videos anymore. CoD kids prefer cool squad shoot outs and not to watch a hungry, thirsty survivor getting malaria and defending himself with a crafted spear. ;) -
Nice suggestion. Need something similar in vehicles as well as someone you pick up can rifle through your gear. An ejector seat button perhaps?

I've found that the majority of the good features that were added with 1.7.7 (Read: combining mags) could probably be added to 1.7.6.1 with a little bit of work, which raises the question of how to progress in the future. I also recently contact dayz.st support and asked them if it was possible to revert the server to 1.7.6.1, to which they replied that it was not possible at this time. Here's how I see things: I personally am not a fan of what 1.7.7 did and I think it ruins what made our server special, and with that being said I only see a few possible reactions. A. Stiff it out with 1.7.7 and try to find beauty in an overwhelmingly negative space (and perhaps hope that ST supports 1.7.6.1 in the future) B. Switch to a different provider that would allow 1.7.6.1 at the cost of a complete database reset and a new IP address C. Start using Rmod to allow all the banned weapons/vehicles again, at the cost of pretty much cutting off most new players D. Call it quits and shut the server down I'd like to hear what the rest of the community has to say on the matter, because it seems the majority of people have already spoken their opinion when they jumped ship. (Note how we dropped like 100 server ranks in a couple of days)

yes! the suv being gone caused me huge sadness. :P Also can the vehicle damage not being saved please be fixed? Vehicles get all their health back after each restart,a nd if they're completely destroyed they are respawned where they blew up, and not in their original spawning locations. it's really bad news if the helicopter or car blows up in water, because it keeps spawning there and reblowing up each server restart, same as heli in the sky. I'm not the only one experiencing this on our servers -
A little about us: ]TPG[ is a casual, community-based gaming clan. We were started as a CS:S and TF2 clan, but we've since evolved and expanded into many other games, including DayZ. Hello dear DayZ community! I am a convinced and happy Dayz Player. Despite those hackers the game is pretty enjoyable. Anyways we found a new server ... The name 842 .. with the patch 1.7.7 ... the ip is 85.114.153.247:10800 So here comes the story ( im writing everything detailed so you guys see that i didnt come up with a rage story or what ever. ) After we found that server we were happy there were friendly admins on it. in the beginning there were only a bunch of guys on that server including the admins. We talked a little bit and after a few days of intensive playing we decided to create a base with all kind of vehicles. we found many cars and helis. also much stuff... And today we were flying over factory so we could get some industrial loot. my 2 friends were driving by motorcycle ... me and another friend by little bird. Our 2 friends on the ground and saw a group of players. one of my friends there saw a bandit guy there. he shot him ofcourse. the admins reacted and asked if it were us . we replied yea and after we realised that they were them we said sorry ofc since we wouldnt shoot those people. Well i offered them to pick up their friend to his corpse so he could loot his stuff.. they werent replying suddenly and my friends were under shooting. my friends realised that there was another group . they were eliminated quickly. after that a hacker logged in . We knew it since we had each helicopter and the hacker appeared suddenly ( he played like 5 min we never saw him before ... his name was Master) over factory. he was in the huey and shot my two friends. one of them died. i told that to the admins. i told them also he went offline. after that i went down with the heli and let my mate out there. i was on my way to pick up the dead one and then a shooting started again they told me . one was shot. the other was camping the corpse and he killed the whole admnin clan . 2 min later i wrote them that it was a mistake . and while flying they kicked me . kicked also my friends. i lost my little bird ( which i repaired 12 hours or even more since the spawn is buggy ... ) After all that they didnt really responded us . they were provoking and laughing Now my question ... can an admin on an official server do something like that without fearing any consequences? i mean they destroy the whole game. I love the game but losing my stuff on that way, a kid abusing his power ( hes not older than 16) then i have to say that this game wont bother me in the future... If this is the wrong topic then move it please. i have no clue where to gather help . so please i begg you guys. let them suffer for what they have done ... i have many people to give evidence to this case... even people who play on the server but i never play with... Greetings Forums; Kluts here, A friend of mine runs a Lingor server with everything set pretty center-line. No special vehicles, no special anything really for that matter. I have been ransacking the barracks all over the map and in the beginning I came up with a pretty wicked arsenal. But as time progressed (over the course of a few days) the number of weapons has seemed to drop significantly when it comes to the barracks, especially with regard to the "Prison" The question being, as time progresses and more weapons are picked up by players, does the amount/type of weapon that spawns change? Is it still just a roll of the dice and I've been getting the short end of the stick lately? Is there a set amount of each type of weapon that can be on the map at any given time? As always, thanks for your time and help. Respect

Yup this is a glitch with ghillies and camo clothes. Beware your clone will run to and attempt to drive/fly vehicles. A friend said one actually got in his heli and crashed it :P -
Will SA alpha be in a worse state than the mod?

The SA will be lacking certain features at the start. Vehicles will probably not be in until they did their recreation with them. For Gameplay and Crashes.... well nobody really knows until we get the access to the Alpha. But from what i have seen from the E3 videos it seems pretty stable. For all we know the E3 footage was not a special E3 build so yeah i guess it is stable enough for people to test the current build. Test the new system with more players and add valueable feedback to the Dev team then. -

Server: DayZ - dontest US (v1.7.7/build 103718) Time:2:00 EST What happened: I joined the server around 1 pm est from where my teams little set up was. We had 6 tents, a AJ LB, and Mi8, and a Ural all filled with valuable loot and medical supplies. before I got on, I received a Skype message from my friend chaosbman that he said our heli's and Ural were gone. So I though that it was just because we didn't save them properly. As the time went on while I was playing, I went back to my camp and store some more loot I found. When I was about to logoff, I see a player to my left behind a tree looking at me. So I got up and ran and acted like I didn't see him. I ran into the field next to our camp and waited for him. All of the sudden, he just appears in front of one of the tents. I had enough time to switch to my DMR and shoot him twice in the head but then he disappeared again. , strangly not dying. When that happened, I heard footsteps beside me but I couldn't see him, next thing I know im bleeding out. So im trying to patch myself up and gain blood when I see this tractor coming from up the hill towards our camp. next thing I see is the player hop out and set the tractor on fire and explode it. So, I tried to talk to him and I put my guns away so he can maybe heal but he kills me by exploding me into the air and letting me drop. His username was: Boyman3793 (I know this because he said he was talking to me about how he took our vehicles and loot from our camp, trying to say he wasn't a cheater or anything) In the end, I was pretty mad, but I do not know how to make proof for this game... I just checked back to the server at 2:41 EST to see if he was still there, but he is gone... This is depressing. It took me and my friends Chaos all night to repair these vehicles and find all this loot from the heli's and towns/cities. So, all im asking is for some justice, please.

[SA/Mod] - Blowtorch/Portable Welder, Nailgun & Flame Spray

Simply put, two weapon ideas that could potentially be added into DayZ Standalone and the mod itself. Three weapon ideas to lay out on the table, two weapons which are improvised via tools and another which is a craft-able weapon that can be crafted by players with the appropriate components. Nail gun - The Nail gun is a construction tool re-purposed as a improvised pistol, it fires Nails from a 40 round "clip" style magazine and would commonly spawn in industrial loot spawns. The Nail gun is fairly silent but short ranged and does relatively meager damage (less than 9mm weapons at 889 blood) and is only truly effective versus Zombies with a head shot. The other downsides are lack of a sight and only useful at short ranges. In terms of the following weapons, the Blow Torch and the craft-able "Flame Spray", the way I had envisioned these weapons is that they act like a short ranged automatic weapon. They'd have 10,000 uses but each "shot" is fairly weak, to counter-act this, the weapon fires extremely quickly at this short range, removing X amount of blood per second for all the time the target is within this range. In addition, due to these tools/weapons propellant being gas, it doesn't catch foes on fire, instead it would probably deliver a pain status effect on players. As most melee weapons are effectively treated as short range firearms in the mod, these weapons would function similar but instead with a automatic function over a "semi-automatic" function. Blowtorch/Welder - The idea behind the Blowtorch/Welder is an alternative repair item for Vehicles, it effectively allows you to spot weld together damage on a vehicles hull, restoring the vehicles hull to a better condition. It doesn't instantly repair the damaged hull instantly like you get with scrap metal and a toolbox but it can be used to quickly repair a damaged hull. It can also be used as a short ranged weapon that takes the sidearm slot, it has 10,000 uses and acts like a close range flamethrower, doing minor damage at an extremely fast rate of attack. Flame Spray - The idea of the flame spray is a craft able weapon that takes the sidearm slot, it consists of an aerosol can (like a deodorant/hairspray or pesticide spray can) and combines together with a lighter (or potentially matches) to create a short range flamethrower. It would behave similar to the Blowtorch/Welder but would be a dedicated short range weapon. -

Anyways its been down an hour or two i think and in the DE 1000's gametracker page it says "OLD SERVER OF DE 1000 - NEW IP: 46.20.37.196:2302 or search for" I tried the IP, nothing came of it. If any admin, or anyone else who knows whats going on, it would be nice if you told me. -

The server has been updated to 1.7.7. Please note that the database has been wiped, this is a clean slate. I did this for several reasons: 1) Bliss/Reality (former private hive software) is not that well supported anymore 2) The official server was released and available so I switched to that instead of waiting for Reality release 3) Migrating the old database to the new would be a LOT of work and very tedious 4) 1.7.7 is a radical change in play style so I wanted everyone to start from the same level The old database is still there so if at some point I want to migrate players/vehicles/tents, I can. 1.7.7 on Mercenary difficulty is just about perfect DayZ in my opinion. Okay then, I think I might be the one of the few people that has a mixed but mostly positive opinion about this patch, so here we go. I like less loot, it was stupid before that EVERY TIME I went into a big city like Cherno or Elecktro how I would leave with a toolbelt that was only missing the rare military tools (NVGs, GPS, Rangefinder, Entrenching Tool, etc), an ALICE pack, all the food and drink I'd need for the next month, usually an M16 or at least a Lee Enfield, and more medical supplies than I would ever need. A few days ago I started a brand new player on 1.7.7. After looting Balota, Cherno, Lopatino, a bunch of small towns, and even random crashed vehicles, I think I can safely say I am decently geared. I have an M24 with two mags I found in a guard's shack at the Balota medical camp (right across from the airfield, I also found 3 antibiotics there although I have used 2 and seen none since), a makarov with 4 mags, a Czech Pack I found at the Lopatino military tents, various medical supplies I have found ( bloodbags, morphine, antibiotics, etc.), I have a toolbelt with a hatchet, compass, map, matches, hunting knife, binoculars, a watch, and a toolbox, and a couple of tents. The best thing is I also found a Chedaki Ural someone hid in the woods with an M16 in it. I did this all in about four to five hours of playing. Finding all of this gear gradually was much more rewarding than getting most of it at once in Cherno. Now zombies I love and hate. I think the infection chance is too high as well as the knock down chance, but with the different system for infection which allows you to prevent infection by cleaning your wounds before infection sets in an hour after being hit being developed, infection won't be such a problem. They should lower knock down chance though as there have been times where I was being knocked down repeatedly as I tried to get up and I have been knocked down on the first hit way too much. Zombie's agro way too easily now, which makes stealth difficult but not impossible. Zombies do agro too much when you crouch run but with a little tweaking that will be easily fixed. Crawling and walking while crouching still works well for stealth although it is slow. Now zombies spawning in the forest I don't think will ever work unless zombies speed and senses are dulled significantly in the forest. This is to compensate for the occasional zombie spawning directly in front of you and immediately agroing. Plus zombies being slower and dumber in the forest would also make it actually possible to lose agro. Now I am not saying that zombies should be made harmless again, just be nerfed in the areas I described. Now zombies being a threat is good because people actually want to avoid them again. This also encourages players to work together to fight the zombies. Zombies being dangerous discourages the shoot on sight mentality everyone in DayZ seems to have (myself included) too because of fear of being swarmed by zombies. So DayZ has become less of a deathmatch and more of a survival game. My favorite part of shoot on sight going away is that now the true bandit class has returned. Before there was a blur between survivors and bandits because everyone was shooting each other. Now it may still be shoot on sight up North but that is the way it used to be, get geared and make friends on the coast and then go up North for some PvP. But sometimes you can still make friends up North. Now this is just my thoughts on the new patch's major changes. I think the new patch is good overall although there are some issues which need to be addressed. I am sure I forgot a number of things so if you want to hear my opinion on something not mentioned above please ask. Thanks.

What I can't understand is that the mod and the standalone are drifting apart more and more. The mod is getting more action based with every patch: More Military, more Spawns, more Vehicles, etc... On the other hand in the standalone you will be happy to build a sling shot or something. If the games are drifting apart more I think its guaranteed that people will become frustrated in the standalone. I like the action part in Dayz with Zombies as a barrier that tries to block me from killing other people, if I want to play player vs. environment, I gonna play singleplayer... I think this train is running upon close a cliff...
