    If and when they get added

    Vehicle counters such as roadblocks contructed out of in-world items and home made caltrops should do the trick. I mean other than that, i really dont see the vehicles being as effective vs infy as people maythink. I think they'll be primarily uncovered vehicles susceptable to small arms fire

    Then you would be a dead man wouldnt you? If you want vehicles then you need a way to stop them, an RPG is not that big of a deal, no javelin/heat seeking shit, just simple RPG 7 not only fits the setting but makes sense. Anyone givin the option would take an RPG in real life for the countless scenarios it would be useless in.
  4. Look the only reason people don't care about killing other people is because there is a respawn button. IRL there is no respawn button and the amount of KOS would be much less. We need some way to encourage people to work together. Hopefully rebuilding vehicles and other things will be added that will require more people and instead of KOS they ask for help.

There is actually another military base close to the NWAF that makes the area more profitable than Balota, but I think the idea of giving the map more hotspots was the correct response to the relatively boring aspect of the mod. I never really thought the NWAF was as dangerous as other people made it out to be, there was always plenty of cover when going to the best loot spots and sniping people in those areas was never that easy. I died far more frequently in Stary and while I would often find players at the NWAF the engagements were rarely as boring as getting sniped at the tents in Stary. Once more features are added that require exploration there will be people dispersed to different areas of the map including the NWAF. I hate the canned "its Alpha" response to every thread but in this instance the game truly is bare bones without any feature besides weapons and PvP. If base building is added or at least storage like tents people will wander toward the northern area to set up camp and once vehicles are added you will see people scavenging for those and supplies off the coast as well. If they made the NWAF the only place to find military loot at this stage of development quite a few people would quickly tire of the grind of running up to that area only to be killed by someone camping, so at this stage of development at leas you only had to run to Balota. The point I am making is having multiple hotspots for loot will eventually make the game better, especially once server population increases. I do love the suggestion of having a broke down C-130 or something of value on the runway though, would definitely add to the atmosphere of the area.

    you'll see why if devs release mod support for the game. Vanilla servers will be just as empty as the 1st only are now, and there'll be only [500 vehicles, spawn with mosin+m4] servers with decent population...

    Loads of IMPORTANT suggestions.

    These suggestions will be numbered in order of importance. More scheduled updates (periodic and near definite update ETA's) Optimization, most computers can barely handle this. Clans and clan patches, (Friends will be able to invite friends into clans and being in a clan will give a patch on some clothing gear such as shirts and backpacks). Bandit and Hero skins, very different looks between bandits, survivors, and heroes are important. Fix death and wall glitches (random deaths, and somehow getting inside walls with no escape). More zombies (ones that roam the ENTIRE map, in the forest, the fields and even from town to town). Hunting and adding animals / cooking. Underground areas (anything from military to old mine shaft style and eventually able to create them) More gun placement spawns (same spawn rate but more areas like houses and other buildings beside firehouse and military). Small building features (like barbed wire, start with small things and every update or so add another object) When vehicles are introduced and sever population gets bigger: A bigger map, islands and other places maybe even the size of the main land. Please comment more suggestions or even change the order! Hopefully these will be put in for the next update.

  9. Oh what it is to have the sea air in your lungs...! Ideas for vehicles that do not require fuel (the obvious choice come the Apocalypse). One and two-man canoes/kayaks (silent, fast coastal transport). These might be lifted and carried inland to hide.A small rowing boat (I've run past so many since the mod began... just imagine... Bicycles that can be folded/dismantled and carried (instead of back-pack) to put inside another vehicle.A racing bicycle (fast on road, slow across fields, unusable in woodland)A mountain bike (slower on-road but usable in woods etc.)A hand-cart, shopping trolley and craftable sled (from wood, tent etc). These allowing transport of large objects/stockpiles by hand (i.e. moving an engine to a damaged vehicle) Going for broke... A Robinson-Crusoe craftable raft propelled with paddles. Option to craft sail from tents.A small sailing yacht.Helicopters? Never... But hot-air balloons - just imagine that for an end-game... [Craft Hot Air Balloon from 4 Parachutes, Propane bottle? Y/N]​ OK. Yeah, so those last are pushing it... But nothing ventured, nothing gained. And another idea relating to the sea that I may post independently another time... The open sea needs a reason. We have islands coming but, in my opinion, fishing could make it something truly useful to survivors. Nothing new there... But rather than some dice-roll event to catch fish I've been thinking about drifting schools of fish marked by something subtle, a bubbling/darkening of the ocean or seaguls flying above. There need be no resource-hogging fish actually rendered in the water just something to signify you've located one of these drifting zones where a large amount of fish can be caught. This addition would give the player a reason to voyage into the open sea instead of merely crossing it as fast as possible to reach an island. Certain schools may be of high value, making them the 'heli-crashes of the sea'. And... Oh crap, another idea... Spawning ship wrecks. Oh damn, I wish I could code :rolleyes:

We're a brand community just starting out hoping to spread our name and to become more popular over the next few months.     Please eliminate server restarts

    +1 to add a warning before restarts. say like 15,10,5 and 1 min before the restart. And add a storage item : tents etc. hopefully tents are adding before or when vehicles are added. Im thinking thats when the "containers" will be able to be saved like vehicle storage to the server. (I forget the correct word to use, same as server files from mod) on the other hand maybe an npc town that can hold items for you like an mmo. So that way you can still log onto different servers and keep your stuff considering vehicles etc stay on their own servers. just my opinions/ideas

    Weapon suggestions

    Yeah, I thought about leaving the tanks out, but then again there has to be some derelict vehicles from the Military implementing quarantine procedures to contain the infection. Where I was going with the tank was that you may have access to the vehicle and the armor, without shells for it's main armament, and I can't stress this enough the items that are of Western origin would be of a rarity of perplexed imagination. They already have FN Herstal pistol in the game and that is made by a Belgian manufacturer so why not? Not to mention the Soviets also fought the Japanese Imperial army at the Battle of Khalkhin Gol in Mongolia from May-September of 1939 and beat them, causing the Japanese to bring a non-aggression pact to the table. By the end of World War II the Soviets captured some +500,000 Japanese POW's. Now given, they probably weren't all armed with Arisaka's, however dismissing the likelihood of weapons being there could be equated to them taking other things out of the game. Like only being able to play as people who exploit caucasoid like features. For instance here is a picture of the Home guard in Norway using a MG34 in 1987. Yes it is logical to assume there would be far more Soviet and Russian weapons and equipment left over, but you can't rule out the possibility entirely that there wouldn't be some sort of unique finds as a survivor in this landscape. Visiting the vehicles once more, maybe I wasn't clear enough. When I say things like APC's, LAV's, what you said BRDM's, so on an so forth. I mean these machines would be in dire need of repair, so you would have to go out and scavenge for parts. The rarity being similar to this: 2-5 civilian vehicles, 1-2 military vehicles (not including aircraft), and 1-2 military or civilian aircraft all of them being completely out of commission. None of the vehicles would come with mounted weapons, and as Steak and Potatoes pointed out the mounting could pose challenge. If the Heavy machine-gun parts were miraculously found and assembled, you'd have to have a squad to move it. One person carries the tri-pod, the other carries the actual weapon. Seeing as though totaled it would probably weigh 80lbs (38kg) and with tripod 127lbs (58kg). These things would not occur all over the place either. That's what separates a good survival game like this apart from the other vacuous run and guns. I didn't think I requested anything too ridiculous like a Hotchkiss repeating cannon from the late 19th century or anything. Believe it or not I can see the view-point of just wanting things that would more than likely be there, to be there. However I can't help but feel restricted as a player with just this and that, the world is at your disposal, most of man-kind has faded from the Earth. But I do subscribe that there is a large needle of reasonability that should be injected into the game before it is finalized. In summary I can see your case and point, but I don't fully agree with it. As a note: Yes, I am well aware the Germans occupied Norway for a little over 5 years in World War II.

    A flamethrower seems a little impractical, and pointless.. I wouldn't hold your breath. Remote IED's on the other hand would be an interesting addition once vehicles are available. I'm sure there's something in the works with existing items like the walkie-talkie/transmitter.

    Craftable Bindle

    I don't really see the need for them? In a positive manner, We already have bags and are bound to get vehicles/tents and other forms of storage, plus most clothing has inventory slots :P Where could we use this?
  18. since we are at only about 20% of the the final content lootables WILL change if more loot is aviable, so does balance of the same and the factor that everything changes when we have vehicles and bases to maintain and take care of imho rare items makes the endgame harder to achive and items worthy also, what fun is it to run arround 1 hour and end up "having nothing more to do because of you own everything from importance" like

    Are they breaking DayZ as we know it?

    Hmm, if anyone here has played since about september 2012, thats how i want the loot tables and spawn rates to be. Finding a really rare sniper or AR should be something you'll be really happy about and not just " ah, AS50, w/e ". Trust me, if they make guns harder to get, when you finally have these guns, the firefights become alot more interesting as you have your extremely high value loot you want to protect. I remember back in the dayz, when there only was vanilla and there were no " extra guns, more barracks " servers, the game was absolutely amazing. Vehicles were hard to get, guns were hard to get, but it wasnt to the level where you had to play 10 hours a day to get military equipment. I think that was the best time of dayz, and you would get military loot guaranteed from northwest if you survived, beacause you would either kill someone or find good loot in the barracks. It was basically high risk, high reward. Maybe its just me but that was my fav time of dayz and i think the loot was perfectly balanced. Aslong as they make it so that going to places like NWAF, and coming out alive, almost guarantees you some sort of military equipment, be it an M4 or an M24 you would atleast get something.

  21. I agree. I have no issue with there being more military loot at the bases, but there should be random military loot all over the map. I'd like to stumble across wiped out patrols and broken down military vehicles (including helicopters) in random areas. I think some of you are missing the point of the game. Once you're geared up you don't have to go hunting you can...wait for it...continue exploring and surviving. You can also join a clan and help other players or take your chances and try to help people you meet (just be very careful and smart about how you do this). If you think KOS and "bambi hunting" are the only things to do once you gear up, you're part of the problem. I get more satisfaction out of finding gear one of my friends needs and giving it to them, healing injured friends or providing over watch while they loot than I do from killing a defenseless new spawn. You also might try using your imagination and setting a goal for yourself. On one spawn my goal was to make it to Lopatino "where I was from" to see if any of my family had survived.

    Hello, I would like to suggest to add more Russian vehicles аnd I will give examples. VAZ-2121 Niva 4х4 Russian (Soveit) Off-road car, мore suitable for city than full off-road like UAZ. Max Speed - 132 Kmph. 23 sec to 100kmph 5 Seats (We also have 10 Seats version) Gasoline - 42lit (11l for 100km) VAZ - 1111 OKA 4х2 Russian (Soveit) hatch-back vehicle. Max speed - 120Kmph 30 sec to 100Kmph 4 seats Gasoline - 30litres.(4 lit for 100km) ZAZ- 968 Zaporozets Soviet car-legend about it there's a lot of old jokes and stories. Soveit Sport Car (Engine in back((Joke)) Max speed - 100Kmph 40 sec to 100 2-4 seats Gasoline - 40l (12 for 100km) AZLK Moscwich Moscwich - Moskvich, i don't know but that car is indestructible. Max speed - 100 24 sec to 100 4 seats Gasoline 50l (4.5 for 100) KAMAZ (ZAMAK) Soveit truck, lighter than URAL but less passable. Max speed 100 40 sec to 100 3 seats in cabin Gasoline - 250l (30l for 100) GAZ-24 Volga Ambulance Just littel faster than original Day Z Volga. UAZ - 452 Loaf of Bread Off-road van Max speed - 130 32 to 100kmph 11 seats 100l (15 for 100km) GAZ - 66 Max speed - 100kmph 40 to 100 Same to URAL seats Gasoline - 210 L (32 for 100km) This machine can parachute or not. It is still going. Waterproof.

    Horses, the almost perfect "vehicle"

    My humble opinion is, that before addition of horses, Cherno needs extra large piece of land mass, presumably on west. The mountainous, wooded, rough area, with the narrow mountain roads and trails. Area, where horses have preferences if compare with vehicles and if even walking on foot. Then this big rough area would be as kind of hiding place for horses and riders. They needs it, to be capable against more faster vehicles and in era of semi-automatic and full-automatic weapons. Because without this, would adding of horses be only a big slaughter fest, imho. Logically, depend by devs, whom they want to attract more, having added horses, fans of a slaughter or admirers of riding. If to speak about tactical use of horses, then i see them as fast transport on rough area (as i described), for small gangs, who will make fast raids on any village and then quickly retreat to safe mountains. A rough picture about the proposed area.

    Loot-able Objects like the Fridge

    It's never fun to find loot that looks like this, stuck halfway into a wall or sitting on a bed or locker just out of hands reach with no way to get to it. .. so I came up with a solution that I think will create a better environment for dayz. Container Scavenging! - All of the container type objects currently displayed in the game would be converted to have a "gear menu" and become dispensers for various loot types that are sorted into catagories and found only in certain types of containers. STEP 1 - Player See's container and recognizes it as a source for "Food Loot" Walks up to the container and presses the action button. Step 2 - Sound Plays (rusty old fridge door) Inventory opens and Loot able Items inside container show up in the vicinity column.. ( vicinity could be renamed while accessing the container name, in this case it would say "fridge) Step 3 - Player Drags Items into Inventory and walks to look for next container Here are some examples of more containers already found in the world, Imagine all the different loot that could be found in them! You could find gas cans, the portable stove, and maybe some rotten cooked meat. Perhaps this sink could be used to refill water bottles? Watch out for contamination! Perhaps there is an old rifle or some ammunition in this old closet. Defiantly a flashlight or some duct tape, and a pair of old shoes in there, looks like someone left their can of beans on the way to work. Oh look more canned foods, perhaps some pots and pans as well My grandpa used to keep his revolver in the side table by his bed just like this one. I bet there is some books, or even a map, or perhaps some other strange treasures in here. Here's where I'll find that pen i was looking for, some battery's perhaps, I wonder what else is in here. Time for some new clothes, or maybe even a backpack. Rotten Kiwi I see you, oh look some old rags. I found tools in the tool shed! One of my biggest frustrations with dayz at the moment is loot placement. I walk into a house and I see a fridge, a sidetable, a desk, a stove, a fireplace, a closet, a bed, a kitchen counter, sinks, bathtubs, shelves, the list goes on and on, yet I am completely ignoring them! Some of you may remember this type of script being used while accessing the vehicles or tent "gear" menu in Dayz Mod. I have just reimagined the same process being used for containers to store and spawn loot in various places around the world. What do you think?     End product.

    To create a building in the game, it's not as simple as just making it on a 3D modelling program and plonking it into the world. Firstly, you have to create textures specifically for that building, and it's really hard to texture stuff from past experience, as in the art side of things. Secondly, you have to create coliders for the zombies. Currently it seems thats not working, but eventually they will be done properly so that zombies can path find around the buildings and don't just walk into the wall closest to you as apposed to walking through the door, and Thirdly, you have to create loot spawns in the buildings and on the items inside the buildings. So you're saying you want NO TWO buildings the same? Think realistically here... I think you're asking too much. Besides; we don't want them spending ages on buildings when they could be working on Vehicles :D
