Silly things like needing to peel a potato to bake it, overheating with dehydration and health loss while cooking or driving, needing to remove a hook from a rod to put a worm on it, chop a tree down and it falls completely intact roots and all instead of just leaving a stump and the harvested logs, vehicles strain to climb the same hills player characters traverse with ease, running down steps launching/floating players into the air, inability to clear small obstacles like a 2ft fence or high step with low stamina or a broken leg, no option to open doors slowly/quietly, can't throw a bag over a wall if there are items in it, can't place full bags/clothing in a barrel or boot of a car, Backpacks and shoulder weapons remaining visible and clipping through vehicle roof/seats, banging nails in with hatchet blade first, no choice of wall/gate size when building, no option to build a watchtower without a hole for steps, watchtower design that doesn't actually allow you to fire down from it, stepped platforms on walls that don't allow you to actually fire over them, dodgy infected ai and pathfinding (how do they instantly know all the other entrances to the building you just shut them out of? Why do they aggro on you 30m away motionless in a bush because someone else fired a gun 30m behind them?) All silly things really, liveable with obviously, but which the game would benefit far more from by being addressed than adding new weapons/loot that are all just variations on the same theme as existing and thus change nothing in terms of immersion or gameplay. 😐

Broken and no longer loadable barrels opened in an M3S

But did they also break something about the barrels or the vehicles? I am no longer able to load an open barrel inside an M3S like I did before... I have deleted all mods (I was thinking of a conflict between mods) and it is NO longer possible to move an open barrel inside an M3S. I hope it was NOT done on purpose, but from experience I fear it will be one of the "usual wickedness" of the B.I. Has anyone noticed? Maybe some other way to do it? Do you know a MOD that gets around this new problem? -

A place where we can have fun while still maintaining high standards. We won’t be allowing our management team, or any member of the administration team to circumvent restrictions and misuse their privileges. This is why we established Serenity: to provide players the option to finally play on a server with the standards and quality they deserve, without becoming victims of abusive administrators who exploit their authority for personal benefit rather than in the best interests of the community. I know many of you have asked about the type of gameplay and mods that will be used on the server; those will also be available in the coming days since we have already defined the mods that we intend to use. What about the gameplay? We intend to create a server that isn't "that" militarized. Right now, we don't have any OP vests, nor any vests that can block .50. However, you have a good chance of finding them via airdrops and loot crates. On our server, airdrops are quite common, with one dropping per hour. (Please keep in mind that they will only be enabled if there are more than twenty people on the server.) so my friend has a server and i wanna help him out currently it is extremely pvp focused with tappers and jug although jug armour is only findable in tier 2 key card location and up tier 3 and 4 it uses bbp you start with 100k and helis vehicles and other thing are cheap one thing i may add is the armour you can find is capable of taking multiple 50 cal round and 338lm and 408 but you can find Anzio's only in tier 4 key card bunkers my main question is what do players prefer do people like to focus on the pvp base building and raiding aspect or do more players prefer less over powered guns and armour and an easier chance of dying making looting and doing a black market run more rewarding and scarier high risk high reward kind of thing please let me know thanks for any input regards shadow

Ummm... the flying vehicle issue in Reforger is TOTALLY different than DayZ. Since BI doesn't communicate with it's community any longer the best theory going is this is a bug where if the driver disconnects while currently moving the vehicle will maintain velocity and continue to move in the direction it was until another player gets in the driver seat to resume physics simulation ecause even after the player leaves, the vehicle does not return to the server's ownership and continues to give the player ownership and, in doing so, input even though they no longer exist. Completely different from waht is happening in DayZ where vehicles are client side PERIOD as it exists today. Seriously, I jsut want to see them fix something of substance in DayZ. The 1.18 patch does not address Vehicles or even more importantly, Server Exploits. -
This in today's Reforger patchnotes: Fixed: Vehicles would be left in undefined state if their driver’s game session terminated unexpectedly (“the flying vehicle” issue) Took them two hotfixes... So, when will testing of the imported Enfusion physics to DayZ start? February 10th you said "in the coming weeks". No surprise that it has taken longer, and I don't mind waiting, but could we please get a bit of communication about the whys and hows of the delay? Pretty please with sugar on top? @Kyiara @ImpulZ

I've had a modded server for years, but suddenly, with the 1.17 patch my Dex storage boxes are disappearing. Looks like they are getting picked up by the cleanup scripts suddenly, and I'm not sure how to stop the cleanup scripts from cleaning these items. My types are set to 999999999999 like my tents and other containers. I've tried specifying them as <horder> items in the config spawnable types file as well. Any advice for keeping storage containers perisistent on the server? I'm having no issues with tents or barrels or other DayZ in-game containers. Only the modded items. By innovation I don’t mean to simply add more features to a broken base. I mean to have the courage to complete redo broken stuff. The last thing we can hope for is that they update the Enfusion engine in DayZ so that vehicles will get fixed. Other than that I think they should just move on, leave DayZ behind and make a new game. Their focus should 100% be put on Arma4. -

DayZ was completed in December of 2018, it had been in early access Alpha status for YEARS, then went Beta for 1 month in November of 2018, then went full release around December 18th 2018 so the Christmas Xbox money grab could occur. Base Building works as designed. Vehicles work as designed. Promises that the vehicle physics will be fixed have come and gone TWICE now. Supposedly for a 3rd time, we will have vehicle physics fixed by the end of this year. Considering BI's historical track record with "improving" features and mechanics in this game, I would not hold my breath. -

I created this topic to discuss some ideas. I would love to see basebuilding mechanics in the game that would actually fit, that for sure needs innovation and creative ideas. It would require a completely new system. But yes, that's just a dream. Realistically speaking, DayZ will not get any big gamechanging updates anymore for sure. We'll get bugfixes, a couple weapons & items, maybe an enfusion update for the vehicles, but that will be it for DayZ. I would be really surprised if Bohemia came up with a completely new basebuilding system, that's just way too much effort that won't pay off financially. It's currently best to just completely DELETE basebuilding out of the game. But the thing is that gamedevs are usually way too proud & arrogant to just own up to bad gamedesign. So what will happen instead is just... euhh... nothing I guess? Except for a few tweaks here and there. Let's face it: The game is done. -

Because a base is player built, every wall, door, nail, wood plank, barrel, tent, and all of those containers inventory items, is loaded to each player within 500m of that base. Another reason why Vehicles desync, and if said vehicle has 2 or 3 players in it when it hits that 500m bubble of the base... LOOK OUT. I use to be able to find ANY base in the woods by when you hit that bubble, it's still possible to do even today on busy servers. This engine was never designed correctly to handle bases and all the components it takes to build them. Base building, much like vehicle physics was on the back burner of figuring out how to make them work properly. They would have been better off just letting people board up existing structures instead of building new ones. In fact, I just found a community server where base building is just limited to securing existing buildings and using tents and such. And you can only "own" a couple of containers including tents and lean-to's per person in a 500m area. Which REALLY helps performance. Server had 50 on last night and I saw a couple of people driving vehicles. I later saw one of those vehicles bouncing in the air near Grishino. The DayZ Gods claimed more victims. This engine needs an enema so all the mechanics work properly on it. Never should have went Beta, never should have went full release one month later, until the underlying mechanics worked properly.
