Fixed: "Some birch trees were offering the option to collect dark bark" Does the colour matter any more?

i duped by accident recently... had been running around for about 20 seconds before the server realised my connection had dropped... in that time i picked up an item. After the server kicked me and i relogged in again the same item was both in my inventory and still on the ground. Hopefully it isn't really that easy to replicate and dupe at scale...

So basically every prior update was hastily pushed out, unfinished, due to an impatient community then? 🤣
-
Yeah that happens on the winter modded maps... i'm guessing because there are no official winter assets to use for the mods and way the trees are rendered over distance. It looks like the game renders a rough approximation of tree and shadows at distance and then when you zoom in you see the detail of the foliage. On the winter trees however there is no foliage so they appear full at distance and then become bare when up close or zoomed in.

Ok... they definitely were nearby, at some point before now... are they still nearby? That's debateable 🤣
-
Nah, it doesn't mean anyone is nearby... it just means a player had shut it in the building it is standing on

A crosshair is still hit or miss with hipfire because you're shooting slightly across the screen rather than directly into it, your target has to be at the right distance

Better to not be able to jump on a parkour across trees than to get caught and snagged by every branch in a forest... especially considering very few people actually knew this exploit existed anyway 😉

The hacker problem, open discussion - Player: "Have you gotten banned at all from official servers?" Hacker: "Once, in the past three years."

To be honest no i don't, not anymore, i find they just aren't as interesting as the wealth of modded servers and maps that are around. I've also never ventured any of the highly competitive clan/PVP oriented community servers where i imagine a lot of cheating goes on. -
That's a bit too much deflection lol

I don't think i've ever experienced this... in fact i struggle to think of a time that i've not actually seen the player (or at least the group they were part of) that killed me. I can count on one hand the times where i've taken fire from a sniper at distance that i never saw and i've survived them all. My game does tend to err on the side of sneaking and running from trouble rather than looking for it though 😉 -
The only place i've seen softskills work well is in acquired frost resistance in the cold mods

Automatic hiding of backpacks/weapons when in vehicles and a duck mechanic

I guess it depends on what your idea of 'pristine' is, what resolution you want to play at and how many FPS you are after... personally i just use a laptop with GeForce RTX3600 (6GBvram) and it plays just fine @1080p/90-150FPS with most bells and whistles on and set to high/ultra. My CPU rarely hits even 20% of capacity so the GPU seems most important. Closely followed by an external keyboard/mouse/headset and monitor. Bear in mind lower graphics settings might not look quite as pretty but can offer a clear advantage in gameplay too 😉

In real life people would be far less likely to just shoot another survivor... they'd group together and use the ammo instead to clear out the infected, because in real life the infected wouldn't respawn either 😉 If you need aiming to be harder just play with a gamepad lol
