Aside from bug fixes?: 1. Persistence and barricading/base building. 2. Vehicles Right now I'd settle for a bike and my tent persisting on my clan's server. Have you played the mod? Epoch or Overpoch in particular? You can break down barricades, cut them down with chainsaws, drive through walls with a tank, or just shoot up the house (bullets penetrate.) -

Hmmm ... 45 posts and nothing but bullshit in each one of them ... Are you 12 ? Cuz you whine as if you wanted attention . But on a brighter note , it is secret and like Irish said no vids were allowed.. I've heard people say that vehicles were In the build (false I'm sure ) and others have simply said that the new renderer was to be the focus of the pax build .. I dunno well just wait to see I suppose :0 ! -
These things *aren't* hard to operate, as Dale pointed out. They were designed to be operated by mediocrely trained conscripts pulled from farming families, and don't require a GED of any sort. Their FCS and armament is incredibly outdated, and it's a design dating back to the late 60's. The armor is paper thin, and has been known to be penetrated by 12.7 and 7.62mm rounds, as well as being incredibly easy to set on fire. This is probably the LEAST overpowered tracked vehicle I can think of, and the majority of your criticisms are bias and uneducated assumptions. If a resource starved African militia can operate this thing, who is to say that us survivors can't? No one but Bohemia, because you people have ZERO authority on deciding what our survivors can and can't do. Besides, most of you missed the point. Instead, you read the title, and jumped to complain. It's not like you'd see these things regularly, probably not at all, being justifiably rare once loot economy shows up. Reminder: Military vehicles don't "disappear" when the apocalypse hits.

I do have a working microphone aswell. 5] Steam name: Mr. Tickledick 6] How long have you been playing DayZ: Been playing DayZ since the mod first started gaining in popularity ( june/july 2011 to be specific ) Back just before the Revolver was removed as starting weapon, and replaced with the Makarov. I have 300+ play hours on DayZ Mod ( unable to count it precisely due to the use of DayzCommander and Six Launcher, which disabled Steam play time counter ), and 50 hours currently on DayZ Standalone. 7] How many Clans have you been In: ¨I have been in 2 clans so far, 1 of them i started myself along with a few friends of mine. I have not been in any clans in DayZ Standalone as of yet. 8] Previous experience: my time was mostly spent on Namalsk, Panthera, Lingor or Taviana servers, as those maps simply were the ones who appealed the most to me. I was in a clan once, dedicated to helping bambis on a Lingor server which me and my close friends were supporting at the time. Over the course of a few months i became our main pilot, and as a result i have become quite decent not only at driving, but also at flying both planes and helicopters. In DayZ standalone it doesen't look so bright however. The bugs and lack of vehicles have kept me from getting as much into it as i did with DayZ mod. i am with my 50 play hours however, still quite capable af defending myself here. One of my primary attributes in DayZ Standalone has been to work as a sort of 'navigator' for me and my friends. Unlike in DayZ mod, you cant just use ingame maps and markers to get to places, so i have been forced to find my way around without the use of such items, and as a result i know 50% of the map ( primarily north and around the eastern coast ) without having to even glance at a map. I know the way from pretty much anywhere, to pretty much any of the major attractions. I will however need the use of an in-browser map, or an ingame map, if i am to find one of the less-visited attractions. 9] How many bandits have you killed: I was a pretty good bandit hunter back on DayZ Mod, especially during my clan days we specialized in tracking down and killing bandits. Being honest with you, i didn't count them, but 100+ is for sure. In DayZ Standalone i have not been so active, primarily due to the lack of a competent clan, but have still managed to kill quite a few bandits. 10] Are you willing to help other players: Of course. If they are friendly towards me i will be friendly towards them. Whenever i come across a friendly player in need of something, i tend to try my best at helping them get that something, be it food, medicine or even a weapon. I will be honest with you however, i do not hesitate to shoot them if they are threatening me, or are in any other way obviously not friendly. I will also in most cases not engage in contact with an armed player, if i havent managed to get contact with them. Either by typing or by the voice chat. This is only in cases where the player in question is armed though, if they are showing now visible signs of being armed, i will usually approach them even though they havent responded to me in the chat. -
To run off topic, Russian AFVs take less maintenance in my experience. Afghan National Army is using vehicles that the Russians abandoned during their withdraw. Its hard to keep an Up armored humvee or a MATV in working order with a working supply chain while ANA guys are running T-55 tanks that are fed with parts pulled from scrapyards and wrecks from the Soviet presence. On topic. While OP's idea is unpopular I would like to see some lighter military vehicles like MRAPs,Soft shell humvees,BTR 40s and GAZ Tigrs.

Pretty much. Repairing vehicles, then using them in combat. Repairing/maintaining armament, growing food. All the stuff that the PvP-ers don't seem to think about all that much, but is ABSOLUTELY necessary for any modern army to function. There is a saying: "Amateurs study tactics, Veterans study strategies, Professionals study logistics".

Listen, I know you said to not whine and complain, so I will try my best. but I disagree with you about the tank/carrier/BTR thing. Remember the survivors of an apocalypse are probably the genetically immune, not the guys with the best guns and shit. So these are most likely average citizens here. Sure, an average citizen can shoot a gun, maintain a simple vehicle like a bike, hunt for food, etc. However, an average citizen probably would not be able to fix a vehicle of this complexity. I personally would be fine with it, as long as the cannon and machine gun were not included. Honestly, I think in a post apocalyptic scenario there would be a whole lot more people driving pick-up trucks then tanks and carriers and such. I have the same thoughts on helis/aircraft, they should be incredibly rare and not include guns, be used primarily for transportation. Also, I personally would rather have a pick-up truck or jeep or something then a vehicle like this. A, it would be a lot easier to get running and B, it would be a whole lot faster to get from place to place. I think military vehicles should be included, but not tons of BTR's and tanks and such, I think that having a hum-vee with a working LMG should be a HUGE status symbol. Heli's and stuff should be so rare that people should doubt if they exist. Anyway, that's my thoughts. thanks for reading.

Cars will come, some day. They will change the way that groups control servers, and there will be a swift change from roaming bandit groups to well organized and managed groups who must adapt to the situation of the apocalyptic world (or in our case, Chernarus). Vehicles, presuming they are incredibly rare, will become a status symbol. "Shit, they have a car! They're high on the food chain, aye comrade tovarich?" However rare they be, a rusted hatchback or shoddy Lada isn't really a status symbol, correct? If anything, they're rather impractical and probably only a tool of necessity, no matter how rare. Group warfare and PvP are demanding, and a simple truck just can't quite fit the needs of a combat team. Chernarus is a heavily militarized country, bordering a land hungry neighbor and recovering from a violent civil war. It's not like they have anything like a... BRM-1K COMMAND RECONNAISSANCE INFANTRY FIGHTING VEHICLE! I can hear the moans, the cries. "But, ewwwww, survival game and stuff *insert poorly laden and clichéd argument here*!" The most organized groups are the most effective, and the most effective have the nicest toys. Your average joe Berenzino camper couldn't maintain a bike, nonetheless an armored personnel carrier. "What? It can carry troops, too?" Yes, yes it can! State of the art Soviet engineering, with features like; A FCS reminiscent of WW2 era tanks, a 73mm HE cannon, 7.62 coax, powerful optics, and a long range radio. Plus it can carry seven troops. Thoughts?

I've lost faith. Millions of dollars in sales. More than a hundred people working on it, and they still can't push fixes and development at a decent pace. I seriously doubt vehicles will be in before 2015. They can't get a handle on the rampant hacking situation, and there are huge bugs that they haven't even addressed on the bug tracker other than to say "acknowledged." The sardine art is a tuna can and the tuna art is a sardine can. How hard is it to switch those? -

What "End Game Gear" Should Theoretically Be Like At Release

And the few more calibers don't need to be redundant ones, like 9x18mm. They should be ones that actually promote varied gameplay rather than merely separating the same class of firearms based on location of manufacture. I don't see how sticking to one specific bullet for some pistols and some smgs, with 4 other unique rounds being used for the same overall weapon groups, is streamlining the game, especially considering you don't even need the other bullet type to get the same weapons. Hurt animations were confirmed, and even shown off already, but they're probably awaiting engine improvement, weapon jamming will obviously be a thing considering the weapon cleaning kit, diseases are confirmed.... they are capitalizing on them. Not adding one bullet type isn't going to change a thing. I'd not just limit it to gear, but more so progression in general. The point at which you have everything you need and no longer need to focus on improving, just expanded to include shelters/forts, vehicles, and whatever else beyond inventory gear is planned. -
Yep, i agree. It will be a big mistake if you can die from these effects whenvehicles are not added. I am not a "add vehicles" troll, i am just making sense.

Just give us something other than our feet please that's all I want and everyone else that I talk to. We need a car, the mod had cars and more why aren't they working on something we need instead of adding in new towns and a lame crossbow, lol if they added cars so many people would play this game even in the alpha stage. By the time they do add vehicles and release this game they will have lost all their players to the game H1Z1. I hope someone important reads this and can light a fire under someone and get us something to drive :)

The whole problem is the shitty DayZ engine and the scope of this project. The H1Z1 guys have a smaller team and the amount of in-game features they have added is staggering. But look at the difference in what they added. - Vehicles: Very basic vehicles. No interchangeable parts (yet) but they work. DayZ will have complex cars with parts and shit. - Bases and barricading: Very awesome. I have nothing bad to say about the way they have implemented base building. I hope DayZ does something just as good. - Horticulture: awesome. I guess DayZ will have something similar one day. - Loot: most loot comes in the form of world containers. Kinda' lame. The DayZ system is much better but I do hope they get world containers working as soon as item persistence is done. - HUD: Arcadey. Health bars. etc. Kinda' lame but so are the DayZ status messages. Both games need to improve their user interface. So, while they have made good progress, the actual in-game features are kinda' more basic and will be made more complex over time. DayZ is going straight for the advanced features. I prefer the H1Z1 method of agile development but DayZ is definitely doing OK. I seriously thought we would have working tents in April, though, like Rocket said. Kinda' strange how long it is taking to add in the basics of barricading, zombies and item persistence.

If you don't realize that the Standalone is miles beyond the mod at this point, you're either kidding yourself or delusional. The mod took ALREADY available models and used them for functions in the game. They're doing all new models, all new designs, new playability, new everything. The medical system is a big feature, the clothing and inventory system is a big feature. You can cast them all aside because "not vehicles bro" all you want, but the gameplay is drastically different and advanced. -
I'm going to have to disagree here and point to the thousands of design and safety standards that modern motor vehicles have to comply with. Growing up driving 3rd hand death traps built in the 1970s and 1980s, my 2014 Honda feels like it's from a different planet rather than just a different century. Class action suits have long since made the old "cheaper to settle out of court than fix a bad design" a non-starter.
