Or they could push the map outwards 3 or 4 km north and south and leave every single inch of that new area as open countryside with small villages and farms. Myshkino used to be such a chill spot, I used to hide vehicles there in the mod. -

i give a quick run down sorry if people have posted before theres a big list of servers on the standalone server list , tabs at the top filter friends playing , internet (public server list) . IP (if you know the ip of the server , ect it also sorts max players ping that sort of thing if you wish by a click of a tab filters can filter how many people playing ect battleeye yes or no , and that kinda stuff and a word search when you first spawn in a server it is random , after that you re join where ever you left off (brilliant huh) you can join a different server and have the same stuff and be where you was when you logged off dayz mod has hackers , dayz standalone they get banned and have to rebuy the game thats the difference be carefull logging of it make you stay on server for 30 secs make sure you safe (no combat logging) players it max 40 a map but increasing i think to 100 soon i think i heard when you first play if you havnt played any dayz mod before is you going to die again and again and again and lose your stuff again and again and again , unless you have someone whos watching your stuff and your near ,. also no vehicles or anything as of yet but they being added , my advice , buy the standalone it worth the 19.99 for sure you get a massively multiplayer survival horror , SA will have mods soon too so you wont miss out on Atlis life and epouh servers either if you trust the devs they changing the engine soon something arma 3 cannot do , standalone on arma will look like a bad GTA dayz mod in comparison to the unique engine thats going to be put in place (we hope) im suprised the devs havn't put the price up on the standalone yet :D -

NO , its a survival horror dude , limited hud is whats is suppose to be the texts of , cold ect are to do with yourself not the enviroment if you listen you can hear people like in real life ... abiet some sounds dont work sometimes the triggers seem to be off , but this is alpha , surely you knew what you was getting into when you brought the game? but on the other hand , a text saying someone is near when you hear them running ,the message could help deaf people or people playing with no sound , think run around a town road , message pops up person is in building next to you , arm up raid the house , not wanted in dayz , lucky you have a map let alone a GPS (if they let one in i say they will eventually) keep the game hardcore . its better this way , sneak and ninja is the best option for you as theres no cars or vehicles , i even reverted to server hopping to get more food and water for run from one city to the next or if i need to catch up with my buddies that are logged out in some place i need to get too ,. and do you really want more red admin writing on your hud along with your starving hungry cold run out toilet paper on your screen , you will end up missing the fact your hungry due to the 6 clan dudes that just turned round the corner and started poking you and annoying you .,.. NO just no it will never work and if they did it would ruin what day z is about -

2. Imo unhelpul answer. The current max of people on a server is 40. 3. Note that the game has no goals. You have to make your own goals 4. When you die your body dissapears after 10 minutes, unless there is a player nearby. It will remain there then until the player moves away if it's already beyond the 10min timer. However, an allied player can strip your corpse and lay the items somewhere you can grab them. This way you can evade the 10min timer. It is planned that dropped items decay over time aswell but not ingame yet. Also it's save to say that the itemdecay will at any rate be more than 10minutes. 5. There is not much to craft to begin with and only a few items are actually worth your time, like an improves backpack. Rope+Burlapsack. A stick is optional and makes the bag bigger. 7. On the submod of dayz mod that I play, there are currently max 65 people on a server, working vehicles and storage but no bases. I strongly recommend the mod instead of standalone at this point. -
If I understand this correctly, and that Central Economy, means the hive will decide and limit loot spread across the servers, than this is a huge mistake on multiple levels. First, hackers and those that play 8+ hours a day will snap up all the good gear and no one else will ever see it again. Those of us in North America can expect to go die with a shitty ping on a Russian server where all the good gear is. Second, this will overload traffic on the hive, as people keep server hopping shitty loot less servers. Third, given the lack of zombies and that they mostly just stand there waiting to be shot in a ZOMBIE game, given all the glitches, the crappy melee, that almost a year in persistence is just starting to enter the game, that tents have just made it in, that vehicles are still not in, I could rant on for a couple of pages, but I'll stop here. Given all that, central economy (which shouldn't be implemented anyway) shouldn't even be thought about right now. There's way too much priority stuff that needs to be fixed, sorted or implemented.

Be warned some servers are bugged, like, very few, and will wipe your character. 2. You are right, around 30 players a server. Developers are working on higher population servers. 3. Playing with friends is the funnest. You can play alone but expect to just kill people a lot. Should you have no one to play the game with, try just talking to someone and stick with them, should you not be killed by them. 4. When you die, your body ragdolls and is lootable. The last update had bodies only stick around for like, 15 minutes. It is longer now but both time and server restarts will remove the corpse. 5. Search crafting on the wiki. Dragging and dropping items on one another is how it normally works though. (Drag a spray can on an axe = Black/Green axe) 6. Base crafting only goes as far as setting a tent up in the woods. Plans are to allow building barricades but that is as far as it goes. 7. DayZ Mod has more versions of the game that people made and tends to have a decent community gathering. The most notable feature is vehicles and how less buggy it is. DayZ SA also has a good player base but lacks vehicles and is very much more buggy. This will change in due time of course. -

Hi guys, I simply have a question about ATV's and other smaller vehicles when they will be added. I know 4 wheelers and motorcycles are already confirmed, but are other types of ATV's and small vehicles going to be added too? I have some suggestions for others I think should be added besides just 4 wheelers and motorcycles. I will include basic description and picture of each one. YEH like a freshspawn going to shoot at you down that desert track the noob will be in the field hiding from passing cars trying get back to there group . dont expect to carry all the vehicles and items you need without a squad , they will be balanced fuel cans , vehicle items , maybe vehicle repair kits to fix the random car spawns dont expect to travel around the map on one tank of petrol , , and watch out for oil bandits hehe its important to meet back up and re group

Vehicles are a really bad idea, the map is way to small. Imagine you can drive from east to west in less than 10 minutes, what would be the interest to play this game? Stupid PvP for 12 years old that just discovered how to jerk off? I heard they intend to put bicycles in game, I honestly think it's too early at this stage. If we had a 500km x 500km map I would understand that running for 5 days IRL is some pain in the ass but right now the only interest in this game is to move from the east hell and try to find some good gear in the west then do whatever goes through your mind. If I spawn in Novo, find a bike and 10 minutes later I'm near NWAF where is the thrill? It's all gone, you die, doesn't matter because you'll be back before the guy that killed you has the time to bandage himself. No please, no shortcuts like these until we have bigger maps, even then I'd like to have to walk for 2 or 3 days IRL to go from on side of the map to the other and face all the events, good or bad that I may encounter between those 2 points. Why not a train that goes from Berezino to NWAF in less than 2 minutes?

A nice feature I'd like to see added once vehicles are in is the abilty to push vehicles. This would be handy if the vehicle runs out of fuel or an engine breakdown. Obviously this has a downside too as those pushing become vulnerable to attacks. Another implementation could be the more players pushing the vehicle the faster or easier it becomes. -

Well I belive its caused by lack of endgame cooperative stuff like farming/vehicles/bases + the thrill of being a muder you know, assassinating people for them lols and tears. This will aways be a thing in this game imo. If you want to have more friendly encounters, you gotta make that happen by leaving the other player with no other option if not talk to you. You will need a gun and some steath skills to make that man. As a fresh respawn, you are safer by hiding your ass at all costs.

I hope there will be support for user mods (like a mod that increases max num of vehicles and vehicle spawn points and spawn chance) so we don't have to deal with crap like limited car parts, running and trying to find them.

I think having a ruined status is a good thing. First its authentic that items reach a state where its no longer possible to repair them ("repairing them" in this state would boil down to "build a completely new one using the materials"). Second it helps the gameplay mechanics - you have to watch out for your gear or it ends up unusable, items eventually get unusable resulting you you needing new ones and it prevents the servers from getting stuffed with items. Now what needs change is the way "ruined" works - it should take much longer to reach the state, especially for clothes. However, once you reach the stae the effects should be significant: ruined clothing should provide NO protection (though I think it should still give you a smaller number of badly damaged rags)ruined shoes might even cause negative effects like fatigue or even damageruined items should provide no storage (could be gradually get less with damage via pocket system)ruined tools should not be usableruined guns should not shoot or even loadruined ammo WILL jamruined melee weapons would still be usable but much less effectiveruined food items should only provide a very small amount of food (a ruined apple is an apple hit by a sledgehammer for example)ruined drinks should not provide water but rather cause the container and items inside to get wetruined vehicles sould require a completely new chassis (ruined parts would simply not work at all)ruined attachments/magazines should not be impossible to attach/fall offruined crafting materials should not be usable for craftingruined medical items should not be usable (ruined rags would be "small scraps of fabric")So basically a ruined item gets useless and has to be replaced. But it should not become useless after getting hit by some zombie twice. I even think worn clothing should not get ruined by a single gunshot - simply blowing a hole into it would rather cause a "damaged" or "badly damaged" state though it might ruin items stored inside and make some pockets unusable.

As I've said in other threads, bitches be triflin' the loot spawns for most vehicles are not working. These include lots of cars, the pickup trucks, the jeeps, and the blue trailer hitches scattered all over Chernarus. These spots very often had Mosin rounds, stripper clips, and the Mosin Nagants themselves. Until then, buildings will be your best bet. Or murder. Murder is always an effective method of social class mobility.

Exactly what the title says. I think items should become "Broken" and unable to be used, but still able to be fixed. Something that is ruined obviously shouldnt be able to be fixed as the term itself basically means broken past the point of repair. So whatcha think? To me it would make the game a lot better and you would have a lot more people grabbing items that are clogging spawn points if they are able to repair them instead of leaving the ruined items on the ground. (Ruined items would still exist but be slightly less common as the broken condition comes before ruined. (Also, this is more of a plan for the future sort of thing, id rather see vehicles or better animal AI before this)

I have around 370 hours in this game so far. The chances for weapons spawn come in a variety of places, and you will truly be surprised how easy it is to acquire a firearm once you know where things spawn. Plus, the East is very popular a thoroughfare for players at the moment, so the journey inland to places like the Sobors, Zelenogorsk, Gorka, and Severograd will pay off now, though once the vehicle loot spawn bug is fixed opportunity will abound all over the place. But...take in mind that almost all vehicles and blue trailers hitches do not currently spawn loot, and these places are normally a very good source of weapons, magazines, and ammunition.

Are you HERO OR BANDIT or something else . and why do you hate bandits , or why are you a bandit ,? ok as you may or not know im friendly and try help people rather than just kill them there are many threads asking for them to be banned , made illegal to kill bambis ,and such like . coastal snipers we could go on for days ok bandits and why i tolerate them , number one is the hero aspect everyone loves a hero saving the day without these bandits there would be no heros , i am sure im not the only one that want dayz to be pure unfiltered sandbox experience with no rules dayz id like to see and have the game mechanics increase the support for these types of things 1.heros 2.bandits 3.zombies. 4.loot 5.broken vehicles 6 humanity levels , 7.clans 8.bases 9.kos noobs 10.murder count 11.death count 12.blood :D im hoping mods like atlis life will be made once mods are allowed , just so i dont have to buy arma 3 lol just choose your path carefully because in the future you may regret your actions

No, I don't think we need woods everywhere. I've never asserted this, ever. I'm saying we need some wilderness and a robust wilderness at that. A lot of the map is wooded (although I'd contend that most of it is just fields and cities now), but it's not wilderness if it's in immediate abutment to large towns and/or high-value locations. The wilderness we had in vanilla Chernarus was passable. People could hide vehicles/tents with relative security (although this is presumptuous, as I found vehicles/tents in the woods all... effing... day). But that wilderness has been carved up. Just look at the north, it's plain to see. Take the upcoming horticulture feature. I'm not going to waste time setting up a garden if it's either immediately adjacent to a high-end loot location (which much of the untouched wilderness in Chernarus now is), or, if it's on a commonly traveled pathway to a high-value area (which nearly all of the wooded areas are now, or are going to be, in Chernarus). Like it or not, the true utility of the wilderness is being able to add value to things like vehicles/storage/construction by hiding them. I'm not going to waste time building up a cabin, only to have it be on the freakin' road to Myshkino. And with the marginalized wilderness, the areas in which it actually is viable to set up persistent structures/storage locations become all the more uncommon. This results in a "narrowing" of viable locations, which results in easier pickings for those who would seek these valuable resources out. In short, fewer places to hide... easier to tell where people are hiding things. All or most of the true wilderness of Chernarus, has been completely marginalized and has had towns/cities/military camps placed in direct abutment. And forcing player interaction is good to an extent (although one can argue that "forced" anything is completely against what DayZ is), but it can be done in multifaceted ways. Rather than univalent ways. -
Yeah, I'm "hating" by making a sarcastic comment. We don't know exactly what happened during the outbreak, but there are plenty of destroyed vehicles and military outposts set up all across South Zagoria, including many downed helicopters and exploded tanks. There's nothing certain, but there gets to a point where you can no longer just keep falling back, and I highly doubt that every soldier in a 225'km militarized region would be able to escape. That, of course, is assuming it was even the zombies who killed the soldiers. While certainly a part of it, the fact that many wrecks are riddled with bullet holes and tanks are blown in half clearly indicates civil unrest & rioting. That, and it may have just been the infection that killed most of the soldiers, as for all we know the people who are left alive are immune to whatever caused most of the population to turn into infected. You can't shoot or run away from something microscopic that's already inside your body. And frankly there's nothing unrealistic about a Steyr AUG appearing in Chernarus, so there's nothing there to be concerned with.
