Road blocks not rendering until too late

Recommended Posts

So I just impregnated a military truck setup as a road block with a Skoda. Is anyone else having this problem as well? At high speeds road blocks of all types just aren't rendering until its too late. This truck literally appeared right on top of me and I pretty much got the skoda stuck in the truck like it spawned right on top of me. Then getting out of the skoda I was stuck in the truck and had to keep hitting V to climb out of the truck. R.I.P Skoda full of gear.

Yea it sucks, I just slow down when I am approaching a town. Still isn't 100% safe to speed but I have less accidents.

This happens to me, but they dont load too late. Infact I have a bit of an advantage. They dont load for a good 30 seconds to a minute for me, so I can drive on perfectly clean roads. Scares the shit out of people when their in the car with me though, can't count the number of times someone has said "how are you driving through all this stuff?". My friends say this will screw them over one day, that something will spawn infront of us while I'm driving and that will be the end. But I truck on, nonetheless.

I had the same, I was doing about 70 on an ATV with a friend on the back, crashed into a roadblock which hadn't rendered, and both died, and now my friends won't let me drive any of the vehicles we find :(

But it's normally due to high ping or bandwidth for me!

My computer runs this game 8 fps with the highest settings (Just showing how weak it is, on low graphics it's +100fps) and yet this hasn't happened to me once. Check your visibility setting.

Visibility shouldn't be a problem. If you happen to have problems with stuff suddenly appearing i would try setting object details lower, if that doesn't work defrag your HDD for faster access of data. Ever since i had a SSD built in i never had that kind of problem again ( it even solved a similar problem that i had with GTA 4, fine textures loading really late ).

I've never had this problem even though my computer is pretty tame. I do have an SSD though so that might be the difference, apparently the texture loading in ARMA 2 is a common bottleneck.

This is a pretty big problem for me. I am constantly putting the headlights out on my UAZs, and i actually managed to flip a skoda arse over teakettle when i hit a roadblock doing 97 between Gvozdino and Novy. I was also almost killed when my friend hit and blew up another skoda on a truck, my ATV did barrel rolls, and my friend totalled his motorbike.

The road between stary and novy sobor.... a death trap, many have fallen to the ghost of roadblock past.

I have a feeling it has something to do with elevation too. Could be wrong, it's just a suspicion.

That can't be it-I live about 500 feet above sea level, and I've had that issue a couple of times. :P
