agippo 37 Posted September 12, 2012 (edited) Issue : People continually respawn to find themselves an optimal spawning point. This used to be done via the respawn button, however now that this has been removed, people are now turning to suicide to churn through the spawn points.Solution : If you die within 10 minutes of respawning, then you do not get a random respawn, you respawn at exactly the same spot, or to the nearest spawn point to that spot.This would mean players have to play the spot they spawn. Alllowing some degree of randomness inside of a limited area would also stop the unlikley, but thoretically possible chance that someone might be a total prick to a new spawn and continue to kill them, knowing they would be then forced to spawn in the same spot.Alternativlly, you could institute a system where a PvP kill allowed for a full random respawn, but a death by falling, zombie etc, inside of the 10 minutes sent you back to your original spawn. While I personally do NOT suffer from this issue(don't get me wrong I prefer to spawn on the west side but make what I can of the situation regardless) I love the actually coherent thread you made about a obviously serious problem. Taiphoz 95 Posted September 12, 2012 for the love of god NO!..I would rather jump of the Kamenka Bridge and spend ten minutes looking at a loading screen to get a new spawn than run from Kamenka to get back to my body, this idea is terrible and not very well thought out at all, you have to ask yourselves one question, if its not that bad of a deal to spawn all the way out there then why are there so MANY players on so MANY servers perma killing themselves just to avoid the damn place.Its the worst area and spawn in the bloody game and as if being killed and possibly losing all your stuff was not bad enough but then you have to run for 30+ minutes to get back to where you died to meet up with friends or possibly find your dead body.NO.Simply NO!.The way I see it there are 3 options,1 is to spawn everyone in either Elektro or Cherno randomly in the city not the coast.2 is to let people chose which spawn point they use, they can then pick the one closest to their death point.3 make them spawn with a pushbike that despawns as soon as they get off.I would vote for letting the player pick their spawn, if I die in Berizino and then spawn in Kamenka, even with your 10 minute rule I would still wait those 10 minutes and then just kill myself, its still going to be way faster to try for a better spawn than to run.. Haha. No.2. I like how you don't know where you will spawn and you have to deal with the situation given to you. This would ruin that.3. Probably the best idea of the three. It's hard to say whether it would work or not; for some reason I can't think of anything really gamebreaking about it except that it takes away from some of the authenticity of the game, but I won't disregard a decent idea just because of that. Undrun SIgna 4 Posted September 12, 2012 you may have my beans sir. i like this... if implemented right, would cut a lot of frustration out of new players when the are killed by spawn campers, bandits over and over again in the same town if the get repeatedly bad spawns, and people committing suicide to get better spawns.
