Already quit game, lemme pass on some wisdom

I gave up on this game a while back from hackers. But me and a friend discovered an interesting little thing that I think many people wouldn't realise...

For those of you that don't know this, be prepared to be kicking the absolute shit out of yourself for not knowing this sooner. For those that DO know this? Move along quietly, please.

You know zombies and supplies, right? You sorta just put your crosshairs over them and see if they have anything because the cursor changes, right?

WRONG MOTHERFUCKER.

Many items on zombies do NOT actually show up with that context menu. Things like food, water, ammunition, etc etc etc. If you, like me, checked bodies by 'glancing' at them, then you've missed out on so. much. shit.

I had a 55 day old character. And I did not know this one little thing. And I'm wagering there's a lot of people out there who don't.

And there you go, my one piece of wisdom. Check all bodies with the 'g' key.

inb4 the people who already knew this come in and try to act superior.

P.S. don't touch mountain dew. That shit is not worth it.

Honestly, not trolling, was there ever a way to check if Zeds had anything on em other than checking their gear?

By default, scrolling the wheel would show for example "Take Can of Soda (Pepsi)" sometimes. It does this for all lootable things, I do not know the criteria for the "Take x" to appear besides of course there being some of x in the pile. However, I have seen it come up on loot piles before, and not on others with the same item in there.

Yeah, knew that one, thanks for clarifying it for me me though, every now and then i still find something new in the series and kick myself for not knowing of it for years. Phew! thought another one had slipped passed me.

Anyhoo back OT, a visual check on a body's gear is always the safest way forward.

Actually, there's not anything in any documentation telling you this. I did this for the several months I played the game. When I found out about the fact that zombies carry loot that doesn't show up with the crosshair-over thing, I kicked myself. Repeatedly.

A lot of people I play with didn't realise this. And with the influx of new players, it will be especially unknown to lots of people. As for why I'm still here?

what can I say? I'm waiting for Battlefags to get off their ass and DO something about the rampant hacking. Maybe then I'll come back.

I'll never know if they fix something if I'm not here.

Like me who don't play Chernaurs anymore, I like to stay in with the community for future info, Glad I did also as the new maps have made it worthwhile. I'm playing again and enjoying new things.

Standalone will be out soon (I hope) I bet there are many who don't play anymore but still post as I have made some great friends on here and / or are hopeing for fixes to some issues. Which is why I'm assuming many like to tell their friends they have quit, You will notice most quiters have a valid issue or reason.

I thought the icons over corpses changed once you have a full inventory but not before? I checked all bodies anyway, especially when I ran out of beans.
