You sir are a byproduct of modern gaming which in my view has destroyed the young generation of gamers. You need the game to hold your hand and walk you through everything in fact you need the game to then make you a sandwich pour you a drink and hold your *Exploit Deleted* while you relieve yourself. Games where better back in the day when you played through and every time you died you started back at the first level no saves no passwords to skip levels or cheats. When a game gave you a sense of achievement upon completion not because you died 50 million times and kept reloading until you decided to use one of the cheat codes and finally completed the game. Dayz is a refreshing return to the old style of gaming instead of a fake sense achievement when you kill 10 bad-guys with a head shot and a shiny little medal appears on the screen and congragulates you the attraction of dayz is the fact that every time you play it you get a new game out of it you feel fear when you hear gun shots being fired in your direction you get excited and giddy as you sneak up on a bandit and he is unaware you are behind him you feel sad and angry when you die because all your hard work is gone but the good thing is that you can start again and feel it all again in a different way by trying a different way to gear up.

If you want a tutorial go to the Arma II and play the training mission to learn the controls as for where to go and what to do in dayz thats called exploring trying things out and learning. Its what happens when you have freedom rather then following a script like almost all the games these days. If you really cant figure out what is going on in the game but still want to be involved and experience the fun, excitement and adrenaline pumping tense situations that this game offers then you could always look up any of the multitude of survival guides and tutorial videos that the fantastic dayz Community has created then maybe a good starting point is the new player forum

This game/mod blows hardcore. The first time I play, I spawn, no gun, no weapon and no items, so play, im running and running and running and running, oh look a zombie, an hour later, I'm still running with nothing in sight except a zombie on my ass. I can't even through punches at the zombie.

The second time, I spawn, okay great, a small town nearby, I can't even open up doors, no guns, no weapons and no items, again. I kept running and running and running, running and running and running, until I run over some guy who is sniping me. lol

This game is a fuckin joke, it gives you no direction or clue on what to do. In real life, I know my city, I know what to do if a real zombie apocalaypse ever broke out however, zombies are not real nor will they ever be real. This game sucks and blows harder then a 2 dollar street queen.

Shut down this game before you embrasses yourself and making the gaming world a joke.

In my honest opinion your brain is clearly lacking the basic functionality to operate, so of course you can't play this game. I would recommend picking up a great title named Call Of Duty, the standard technique of smashing all of the 8 buttons would perfectly suit your play style and brain capacity

Okay, just saw the OP posted again. You are a vet? Then, surely you know that patience in this game series is key. Think back to the mission in the first OFp. Alone in the woods, and you have very limited ammo, and you also have to get away. Double the adrenaline, and add some human players basically aiming for the same thing as you. That is DayZ for you. If you love previous games, why on earth have you not had patience to settle in? It makes no sense, you must be a troll. And we all jumped right in.
