Calling all survivors who would like to help establish and maintain a 24 hour trading station/leasure post on US Hardcore 2. Iv edited the post in a more "advertisment style"

Services Offered

1 Clip of 9mm Mackarov = Entry into "Safe" Zone Cantina 1 Free Water

1 Clip 5.56 = Entry into Trade Zone

2 Clips 5.56 = Facilated Trade (A member of Trade Post Delta acts as middle man) Perfect for the super paranoid survivor

3 Clips 5.56 = Guns for Hire (Bandit kill you and take your stuff? Hire a member of TPD to help you storm his hideout)

Desired Ammunition may change without notice. Please be flexible and bring variety.

!!!Trading of explosives inside TPD is prohibited. Bringing explosives of any kind inside TPD is strictly prohibited. !!!!

DISCLAIMER: TPD can not GUARANTEE your safety inside the trading post. We can however guarantee we will do everything in our power to provide you with the safest place to conduct trade and relax in these difficult times. Also, take comfort that if you are killed inside TPD, your killer will not walk out alive.

For those interested in being part of the team:

- Will require at least 200 people in our company to guard effectively for 24 hours. We will see how that goes lol

- Pull at least a 1 hour shift with at least 10 other guards.

- I am well versed in Force Protection and station defense from my training as active duty air force. We will apply this to our trading station.

- Charge a fee (to be determined) for entry which will be distributed among the guards as "payment"

- Be close to a water source to provide patrons with a safe watering hole

- Location broadcast on radios to all of chern (once available)

- Safe place for survivors to trade and conversate, free from fear of banditry

- All patrons will be over-watched by security for any funny business.

- And much more as ideas come about and more mechanics are added by rocket.

there is nothing to stop someone from appearing in your camp, having breached your safe zone through another server, and being in an advantageous position to loot and pillage

Hmm, while I didnt think of the breaching from another server I will say this. With 10 guards overwatching a set amount of patrons, you'd instantly be killed after the first shot u take. Plus we will notice your instant appearance and shoot u anyway. Try me big guy. But thanks for the headup about that exploit.

I don't see how this could possibly work without checking weapons at the door. All a griefer would have to do is walk in and start shooting. There goes the security of your establishment. A newly spawned player could pickup an automatic weapon fairly easy from a tree stand and do maximum damage before your guards could take him down. Hell, your guards would probably kill as many people trying to shoot the griefer. Then everyone starts shooting.

P.s. What you really need is some type of "no shoot" script that works in a certain radius.

Don't shoot people on sight, if they login inside your camp, they may just be actually logging in normally, use caps lock in direct chat to VoIP, tell them to prone, if they do not within seconds shoot.

Also, I'm interested in this idea, I'd like to assist you if you decide to actually go forward, for actual ease of use, I'd be willing to do supply runs for you, would be happy if you could supply a vehicle for such a thing but willing to grab and repair one myself.

Great idea thought about it my self.

But as stated above with the current server hopping exploit still in the alpha its just not possible

Honestly, the main problem is that you'll see a bunch of people who come straight for you, with an intent to kill you all.

This will happen often.

And even if you say that you will kill them if they try anything, even if you're lucky enough that no 6-12 man team decides that it would be great fun to try and spec-ops your asses with silenced M4s and AS50s from 1200 meters, you'd never be able to guarantee anything other than that "civillian" deaths would be avenged, but never prevented.

That's not much different from any police force in the world, certainly, but it would never be enough to convince people that the area you cordon off will be safe.

I think it's a great thing that people wanna do stuff like that, and I really do wish it would be possible to set it up in some way, but without the Devs actually going in and giving you some tools to facilitate some of this, it just isn't gonna work.

With the new update apparantly rolling out mass fortification and such, this seems more plausible actually, especially if you use Helo's to scout the area every so often, or don't announce your trading stations location and guide people in with vehicles.

Unless they stop the ability to server swap any fortification you make will be useless.

They can just goto the fort center on a different server and swap back to your server. kill as many as possible and post on the forums how l337 they are.

While your fort is now 2 or 3 guys down on defense and another server swapper is on his way in.

I LOVE this idea but I don't think it's possible with the current build. Maybe later when Rocket gives us more tools to work with, but all you'll be creating is a giant magnet for griefers.

Definitely a good idea, but I really don't think something like this would be successful considering the mods current state.

Yes, it will be hard. There will be "griefers". Thats what will make it fun for the guards of TPD. We will probably get hit, ALOT. But its worth it, it will be fun. It will provide people a safe place to trade stuff. If you find 2 compasses and 2 Maps and you want to see what people may have in a "safe" enviroment come on down to TPD and see if you cant find someone who wants a map more than his AKSU he found. Its a plausible, fun, useful idea that I am fully commited to creating. But I need help from like minded survivors who are willing to put in work. YOU WILL GET TO SHOOT BANDITS. THERE WILL BE RULES OF ENGAGEMENT TO ENSURE NO INNOCENT ARE KILLED. Let me know who is interested. This is perfect for all you "DAYZ needs and objective blah blah types" I need a second in command. Couple things from rocket and the dev team that would help make this even more possible sooner.

- Spotlights

- Fortifications

- Search character action (This would help tremondously. Guards could search traders entering for explosives)

- Booby Traps

- Radios (So guards can communicate on encrypted channels AND so TPD can advertise to others with radios)

- Ability to post advertisement posters in cities and roads

It would be great if this worked. I can just imagine how dangerous the paths to get there will be. Keeping it secret would be nearly impossible.

I'm curious as to how long it would be until some jackass crashes a chopper into it.

I'm just thinking how much of a pain in the ass it would be for the guards to get back to it if they're killed. It'd be really inconvenient to have to walk for an hour to get back to your post from a respawn point.

Location is key. Maybe do some location scouting offline in single-player or the editor or the armory first, before trying to set anything up online. Make sure it's in a place that would be defensible with minimal fortification and patrols, but also isn't completely out of the way in the back of beyond, where no one can get to it without walking for half a day.

I might be interested in being part of the initiative, myself. Not sure yet, though. I'll give it some thought.

Was thinking, if we had some vehicles rolling (even trade with people to get them or donations etc it wouldn't be so hard to get people back).

Also got me thinking, wouldn't a castle just be a good idea? It's heavily fortified, hard to almost impossible to assault, easy to lockdown.

Biggest issue I see with this though is the coverage, lots of forests around 'em.

I really like this idea, I have always enjoyed the fallout series because of its survival mentality, but with a hint of civilization here and there. I would like to join on the team to get this going, preferably doing guard work but I can also help in acquiring goods.

The biggest thing might be actually getting the word out and getting people to use the service.

Location is going to be be key:

Needs to be enclosed with a wall, something solid that you can't see through and can't jump across or fire across.

Minimal to no zeds

Almost no towers, tall buildings, or hills nearby to get sniped from

Perhaps have a tower in the enclosure to spot people and counter-snipe

Relatively close to the coast, maybe even in one of the big cities.

I think the best location might actually be a building with an outer wall. That building on the east side of Cherno comes to mind, not the ideal but its just an example of what I would think would make a decent style location.

Guards would be stationed in layers, external running scouting duties, secondary would be on the gates and running perimeter work. Internal would escort and run patrols on the inside of the compound.

Anyways i'm actually really interested in the concepts, add my steam "firelogandrew"

*Edit: The port in cherno might actually be a better location. There would definitely be only one way in, and you would have a fairly safe time landing a heli there if you wanted to run logistics that way.

I would suggest setting up the trading post close to the southern coast. While it would certainly be exposed, it would also be possible for the guards to get back there relatively fast and retrieve their gear should they die.

Although the Docks for Cherno sounds pretty nice, it's too hard to guard, especially at night time. Too many people spawn nearby, hard for supply runners to get into without dying and a lot of high tier weaponry spawns nearby meaning people can grab it and do assaults easily.

There's a super-shed in Stary Sobor that might work. From the upper catwalk, it's got a clear line of sight in every direction for over half a kilometer (and up to a whole kilometer, in some directions) it's easily defensible; it's got good fortification with metal plating, it's just about equidistant from everything, and even has roads leading up to it for easy vehicle access. Only thing is that the nearest water pump is in the back yard of a house a little ways down the road to the west.

Set up the camp on the top of a mountain where zombies don't spawn. Put people approaching the camp at a disadvantage. Having your camp at an elevated position with concealment on the way up would be ideal for this type of camp. It will keep the trolling snipers from taking pot shots at your camp.
