When do you decide Friendly or Bandit?

For me, I'm always friendly if in the beginning.

If you kill me, I'll just respawn, not a big deal.

I usually try to avoid all human contact, but If I've been playing for a while and have some high quality loot, there's a 100% chance I'm going to kill you if you find me or sneak up on me.

I was friendly all of the time in the beginning, but after being killed over and over for the "lulz", I've decided if I have something to lose...I'm going to shoot first if I can.

As there is no bandit anymore in the game the only conclusion you can make is everyone is a bandit unless on your ts.

Until this is fixed the game is basicly DM + some zombies thrown in

Pretty much the same as the OP.

You've got nothing to lose by dying after you've respawned.

It's only after you've been alive for a while do you want to start shooting first to survive.

Or just shoot all the time because you want to.

I tend to be more friendly on new characters. The more gear I acquire, the more cautious and hostile I become.

I don't really care if I lose everything, therefore I don't treat everyone I see as a bandit.

The only time I consider someone a bandit is when bullets start flying my way.

Nowadays i treat everybody as hostile until proven dead.

It doesn't matter how full your inventory is, someone always has something that you might need later on

Also: why would I try to evade someone that I have the drop on?

If you don't exploit the situation it can only get worse

He might spot you and take you out after you turn your back on him

Or your "evasive maneuver" gets yourself killed because you ran into the crosshair of someone else

Everyone here says that they assume everyone else is a bandit, that makes you one yourself for shooting on sight.

I always return fire, if someone is going to kill me I want them to at least suffer for it.

I'm pretty much the same way. I try to be sneaky and situationally aware so I see other players first, and when I do, I discretely go the opposite direction.

I've spotted and slipped away from half a dozen people without them ever knowing I was there.

I decide friendly if I know their middle name, mother, birthday, and the stupidest thing they have ever done.

Everyone else is considered a threat, unless they try and come up behind me then I consider them in attack mode and act accordingly.

But yeah iv'e gotten shot one to many times by dicks/paranoid guys now.

Heck I got killed about 5 mins ago, up at Green mountain, some dick decided to kill me..

Not even a "friendly?" or a "get out or get shot".

So in my eyes, everyone is fair game now, unless they respond to direct chat.

I'll probably end up as bitter as everyone else and just start to shoot on sight soon.

I haven't played for some weeks now bot wow, dayZ has gone down fast.

From the respones in this thread it seems as if dayz degraded to easymode with one rule: Shoot everybody on sight. This hasn't always been this way and no, I won't and will never do that, no matter how many times you douches kill me :P

I'm almost always friendly...unless I really get suspicious...if you don't speak for instance or I get the sights on me for too long.
