Why are so many 'Bronies' into DayZ?

This show has been going for 30years. I'm just amazed it's still running. Do these guys plait the figures hair too? I'm metro but can't watch cartoons, should make a live version with rainbow manure. yknow like blood, pus and some food colourings.

I am a brony. I like the show, I have no problem using a MLP avatar and signature combo, talking about the show or letting others know why I enjoy it so much.

That being said, I still am not a fan who pushes the whole fandom into everyone's nose. We had that user "antiwarus" who honestly said he doesn't like to see pony pics and whatsoever, but he wants to hear why grown people can enjoy the show. Hugge, me and other bronies gave their opinion from their very own point of view, and it was enough for antiwarus to give the show a chance. After asking him what he thinks about the show on his profile a few days later, he said that he really likes it.

And that's what a brony should do, I think. Have fun with other bronies in threads, post pics, use avatars and signatures and so on. If someone shows interest or has questions, we should be there to answer them as good as possible. The "main target" - at least for me - is to make everyone who did not watch the show so far actually watch a few episodes, THEN come up with an opinion. It is easy to look at something and say "That's girlish/bullsh**/gay/...!", but an opinion like this is empty and ignorable. If you watched a couple of episodes and still don't like MLP, then it is absolutely okay - then the show just isn't your thing. However not liking the show after watching still doesn't give you the right to flame fans of the show. "Live and let live" like they say: Enjoy what you enjoy, but don't hate on stuff you don't enjoy, while others do.

The actual problem with the "overenthusiastic" bronies might be on both sides, haters and bronies. People randomly popping into pony threads, cursing and insulting the fans, will encourage bronies to show that they can handle their flaming and will counter with more ponies, also outside the thread(s) where we share our content. I guess as long as there are haters trying to do damage to the fandom of MLP, there will be bronies who live under the impression that they have to carry the banner of pony fandom into every corner of every internet platform, trying to shove it up everyone's bum. :P

Bronies are everywhere.

Bronies have even managed to set up several mercenary corporations (Equestria Royal Guard and Eridani Light Pony) on Mechwarrior Online before the open beta has even been launched. That is the last place I would have expected them to show up. A game about giant walking tanks from an 80's boardgame, full of ponies. Really odd.

You see, bronies are the new furries nowadays. Furries used to be a very vocal fandom, and would actively flaunt around and point out they are in fact a furry. After a long period of trolling and hate directed towards furries they eventually learned that people don't like it when you try to shove something down their throat, and that's why you don't see a lot of hate directed towards them anymore and they mainly stick around in their own communities.

Although I have to admit, bronies are a whole lot worse than furries. I mean for one, they infest forums like crazy. I've been a longtime member of multiple forums that were eventually torn apart from all of the drama and bullshit caused by these guys. Hopefully they'll eventually get sick of people not taking them seriously, and retreat back to their own forums and communities.

Seriously, no one likes you guys except yourselves. Don't pretend you're bridging the gap between gender stereotypes, you're not. Don't pretend you're promoting love and tolerance, you people will passive aggressively hate someone if they dislike your mediocre show.

People don't hate you because they think you're "girly" or "gay", they hate you because you're genuinely annoying. No, it's not this magic "Vocal Minority" that's giving you all a bad reputation, most of the fandom is actively vocal about the show and their fandom.

A cartoon with ponies aimed at children, containing some references to things only adults would get, just like every other cartoon in recent years.

Some people watch and enjoy it, while others tend to take it too seriously.

Bronies are still a very small minority, and so even among the other weirdos of the internet, they are considered "off". This is the path of they have chosen. One where they may never gain acceptance.

It's a group of people who enjoy a show. They enjoy it so much they make sure everybody knows by using names/sigs/pictures etc. They say they're not shoving down throats.. but in reality they are. They will follow a pattern, just like the Furries did.

I personally don't care for them. I just wish the producer of MLP would go back to making cool shows like Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. I really enjoyed that!

The 'Brony Study' is not a reliable resource.

It relied on volunteers that probably would have only heard about it through eqd (note: eqd has a hilariously awkward history in terms of administrators and nsfw content). Not to mention that, y'know, it's really easy to lie on the internet.

I really wouldn't trust the brony study. It doesn't stand to scrutiny.

Oh, and, honestly, to everyone "trolling" the bronies: whether you're being sincere or not by calling them all "pussies" and "faggots" it's still really god damned stupid. They just like a tv show that wasn't directly intended for them.

It's dumb to think that liking a tv show is proof of bad character in a person. It's also dumb to think that liking a show makes you special (especially the whole "gender stereotypes" thing.
