You wont see many in the forum as you probably don't know their gender from just a username (sometimes it's obvious though) and It's not like they broadcast it when posting.

There are actually more women on the internet than men right now actually.

You likely won't see many women in game though, since it's a mechanical disadvantage. No camouflage or wookie suits, no hero or bandit skin, and they always seem to get shot at first in groups.

Also most females do not pick the female model, it's usually a guy who plays as a girl in my experience.
