[SA] Clips, speedloaders, and realistic backpack damage.

It's an internal magazine. A magazine being detachable is not the qualifiying feature for a magazine to be a magazine. -
The only solution for DayZ: Simulation.
Bukethead replied to SalamanderAnder (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
The solution to KoS mentality is not to punish killers. It's giving them something else to do, and this is it. The problem with this is there are tons of people who have decided all the other complications of DayZ aren't worth their time, and instead being an asshole and killing people for no good reason is more fun than tracking down a spare engine for your vehicle. I would liken this to thinking that a kid refusing to do his homework and instead play video games, can be remedied by giving the kid more homework. The realistic aspect of killing someone is a conscience, a feeling of remorse, etc. I honestly don't think there's a way to program that into a game and invoke even similar feelings in someone who takes pleasure in KoSing, or even someone who does it out of fear of being KoS'd themselves. As you stated, bringing back the old humanity system and etc isn't the way to fix the problem, I'm merely suggesting that the problem can't be fixed no matter what you do. The things you have suggested are great and would probably make the game more interesting and entertaining for those who play the game that way, but as a solution to KoSing? Probably not. -
I don't really understand why people are still buying AMD/ATi cards. I don't mean to start a graphics card war here, I've owned systems with both in the past, and at current Nvidia is giving the consumer more bang for their buck, at a lower cost than AMD is.

The ending is a senario I have yet to run into, but have thought about while in those buildings. I usually have a buddy close the double doors and keep watch downstairs while I loot, or vice versa.

A backstory isn't going to do us diddily-squat if the animations and etc were as clunky and unelegant as they were in the E3 demo.

Should we remove barbed wire in the next update

Yes, also why isn't this a poll? -
It's an unofficial mod, and there's still plenty of hacking, etc. It's a flaw within Arma 2, not DayZ that allows for so much tom-foolery. It's really just a different map with slightly more bugs. I like it better since Chernarus has gotten a bit old and predictable, playing on Lingor has sort of refreshed that unknowing suspenseful feeling you first get when playing DayZ on Chernarus.

To everyone who wants a free key: -
I agree that the compound bow should be more accurate. IRL they are accurate enough to have a sight and can be zeroed, so the predictability of where your shot hits is pretty consistent.

People who murder bandits =/= heroes
Bukethead replied to Ozelot (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
There's a difference between killing and murdering, one is an act, the other is the act with intent. I honestly don't think the problem is with a choice of whether or not a kill in self defense is, I think it's a matter of not being able to differ one from the other in terms of the game engine. How exactly would rocket set up a system that could detect whether or not you are defending yourself? Assume someone is running at you with an axe and is screaming "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU" just exactly how is the engine going to know that you opening fire on this person before they even do any damage to you, was in self defense? A more simplistic concept such as detecting a hit and registering a kill you get as self defense represents problems. However as it stands now, everyone who kills is considered a murderer, regardless of intent. Same goes for the hero skin, if you're saving bandits or your buddies with blood bags, I'm not sure how this makes you trustworthy to a casual observer. -

It's not going to happen shut up and wait until WarZ comes out. /thread. -
$300.00 for a dev kit? For that much I could just play DayZ cross eyed. I mean seriously, if people on here are bitching about the $30 or so they spent on Arma II/OA and want compensation in the form of a free standalone version, something tells me they wouldn't be at all willing to drop $300 on a pair of VR glasses. Just a hunch though.

Reduced AKM/AK74 spawn, replace with SKS
Bukethead replied to Bukethead's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I'd like to see the western rifles, such as any of the M4/M16, M14, M1911, M1014, M24, etc and their variants only spawn at certain Humvee wrecks, and military camps such as in Berezino, Chernogorsk, Stary Sobor, etc and keep the barracks, airfield spawning the eastern weaponry exclusively. -

So you've seen Bohemia's books, and know exactly how much of the money they made back was profit? And you know what they're using that profit for? Take a step back and realize just how ignorant you are about business, then tell me you should get to trade in your copies of Arma for DayZ standalone.
