Guys why cant we just get along?

DayZ is a little bit borked at the moment, lets play some arma 2 MP instead or enjoy a book or glass of wine.

Btw Im a bit hyped for next patch (I guess before end of next week) that should come after gamescom that started just today.

The biggest issue at the moment, the artifacts/graphical glitches should be fixed IF the broken models can be removed from Chernarus, has anyone suggested this to rocket or anyone who work with him? That would reduce the QQ and drastically improve the gaming expirience (not perfected expirience, but improved)

it's my understanding that DayZ uses a version of the Chernarus map that is for one of the DLC's. that's where all the dead soldiers, burnt up cars, and hum-v's come from. I imagine it wouldn't be hard to just use the 'vanilla' Chernarus map, but you would lose a lot of atmosphere

Couldnt agree more, Im just sick of reading all the negativity towards the dayz devs. When all theyve done is created the gaming experience, ive been waiting for for years. So many people seem to think games can be made overnight but this is just the begining.

And ive always been a fan of arma thats why I bought it lol.

Mods do your jobs please. Start handing out warnings for people who decided to use this thread as a method for attacking other people instead of providing valuable feedback. Keep this post to what it was intended.

This has probably been said a million times already but I'll throw in my voice.

As of now, 1.7.2.5 unfortunetly appears more broken then its predecessor patch . My personal experience, after having tried a multitude of servers(more then a dozen) and having had roughly the same experience on all of them, is this:

- The graphic issues were gone...for a while. It took a roughly half a day, and then the issues gradually returned. Now I think they're actually worse then before. No change between servers whatsoever and messing with graphics or using the flush command has little to no effect. As before, I have the biggest problems with soldier corpses, and no issues with barbed wire. Although some of my friends have minor problems from barbed wire too.

- Coast spawning on server change now happens very frequently, but it varies highly depending on the server. Changing between servers now appears to be quite risky. I read somewhere that this is a result of different servers using different hives, and that its not the patch's fault? Im not an expert so I dont know. I do know however that me and my friends are suddenly ending up on the coasts a lot more, and we're not really changing servers that often. At least not more then we used to.

- Major tent/vechile saving issue. As of 1.7.2.5, all tents and vechiles are completly broken, in the way that items you store in them dissepear. I have experimented around and it doesnt matter if I deploy new tents, save tents, pack and re-deploy tents or if someone else does it: After a server restart, the items stored in tents(and vechiles) always revert back to a pre 1.7.2.5 list of items. Vechiles and tent locations are saved, just not the contents put in them.

Previous to 1.7.2.5, I found the graphics bug mighty annoying as it made visiting military areas a pain in the behind. But the tent saving bug strikes me as something more severe, as it is litterly impossible to use camp sites or vechiles to store essentials for you or your squad mates. And that, at least to me, is a big charm with the game. Its true that they could be bugged before(server restarts sometimes do the funkiest of things), but them constantly, with 100% accuracy, annihilating all stored contant after 1.7.2.5...that's a tad much.

Looking forward to a fix for this.

This has been said before, but can't you just remove barbed wire and the soldier bodies temporarily? Don't think anyone will miss them :-)

So, just wondering. I see a lot of people complaining about missing items on their tents, missing vehicles, etc.

But i also see a lot of camps when i'm searching for them with lots of gear inside.

I just want to ask if there's any way to SAFELY set a camp, like the proper time of the day before/after the restart to save the tent, or any other "technique" that will provide me a safe way to put my stuff inside my tent.

Last time i did it, after the restart everything was gone.

The tents you find with items in them were setup before 1.7.2.5.

They don't save anything in the new patch. What the new patch does is, not fix what it says it fixes and breaks things that were working before.

When are people going to understand that the game is in ALPHA stage, give the devs a break bloody hell.

Report bugs don't whine and bitch about them when the game is in alpha...

If you can't cope with bugs then what the hell are you doing playing a game in Alpha!?

But anyway 1.7.2.5 has been great to me, occasionally the graphical comes back but all I have to do is flush (left shift then '-' on numpad then type flush on the keyboard) whilst keeping video memory on default.

Adz, the reason people are upset is because the entire point of this update was to fix the artifacting...which it only made it worse.

this might be a dumb question to ask but what do you guys think is better: DayZ installed manually, SixLauncher, or DayZ Commander? And i ask this question because i am using the SixLauncher and i cant load 1.7.2.5 servers. It gets up to creating my character then it loads forever. So if you guys can help it would be appreciated, Thanks.

I am positive that if they knew exactly what was causing it for everyone (key word everyone) they would have fixed it right away and a patch would have been inbound. Have faith they are working on a solution that A. Doesn't break the game in other places and B. Fixes the problem for everyone.

alright listen, before you even try to tell me that it doesnt, first of all, lingor uses the same update 1.7.2.5 and the newest OA patch, and you know what? i have NO problems on lingor but i didnt have any in dayz either, my friend who still has problems in DayZ doesnt on lingor, and lingor island is such a great map, the servers are somewhat great, some are slow because it gets full so easy, and i have ran into COUNTLESS of friendly people, though im not friendly myself i still shoot them when i have the chance, some i let go, some i dont.

Rocket doesnt want to support lingor? thats a bad bad move, you always support your community(i might have gotten the story wrong but srsly, i dont get why this map isnt looked into -.-), if you dont, well then good riddance. But you know what? DayZ has probably seen the last bit of support it can get, i do not feel that anyone is looking into the issues people post here, its all in vain tbh and thats why im not exploring, i kinda have had enough with chernarus when most of my friends still has issues, i dont, they do.

So, i will type it again, Lingor island is a great map, it seems like THAT part knows what they are doing.

When has rocket taken something from the community and said "ohh yeah good idea ill implement that"

Has he taken some of the plans and might introduce them into the standalone?

Does he listen or go his own way?

From what i have seen so far, i must say no to rocket's standalone so far, it could be that i came to DayZ on the wrong time but i dont know.

Rocket made a great alpha, thats all.

well i have not played lingor nor played since the new update or "test update". You have got to realize that you can tell everyone about how good lingor island is but once it catches on the hackers will start to gravitate towards those servers. if you haven't noticed the hackers only started to really become a problem when the game got more popularity. We can make suggestions all we want but in the end it's his final decision on whether he wants to try something new or not.

Hi guys, I see everyone is as cheerful as ever! My issues are the same; artifacts at all military sites, spawning on the beach-which is the worst, constantly worried about hackers..

I don't know what is different about my set up , but with the latest beta and 1.7.2.5 installed with DayzCommander, I am glitch/artifact free at Balota, Cherno, and every where else. I have not visited Green Mountain, but I don't know what would be different about that.

Graphical glitches with barbed wire happend to me as before. I dealt with it with "flush" as before too...(so, no big deal)

p.s. Barbed wire only happens when I use MB2 to zoom

Spawned on the coast with nothing lost.
