    Winchester vanished out of hands [.60 Stable]

    Hmm the server did crap out 10 mins previously and we both dropped out and he got the memory error. But he still had the winchester when logged back in and for the firefight, but yea could be dsync related. Thanks for the reply and yea we've only started playing again as a group for .60 thought we would just play public to get back into it but definitely need to find a private hive to play on.
  2. So me and my buddies were engaging some guys as they left NW airfield tents today. My group sniper in full ghillie and a scoped winchester was shooting and killed a guy, and then the winchester just literally vanished out of his hands. Quite frustrating and just looking for some insight on what caused it. We were on a full pop 60/60 1st person public server .60 stable, he wasn't double carrying and didn't press G by accident and the rifle couldn't be found on the floor and wouldn't reappear after logging. Is it a possible hacker or just a bug, has anyone else had this? I've had my FN Fal awhile now and it hasn't vanished on me yet. Just seems really suspect that it happened in a gunfight too.

    Status Report - Week of 05 Jan 15

    Yea I really don't wan't a UI for this. I'm hoping for more of a shake hand kind of interaction which then adds a red bandanna tied around your friends arm or something. Something that is done ingame and doesn't break immersion, and also keeps a little challenge to identifying team mates, rather than friends having giant hexagons around them like arma 3.
  4. Tbh I've warmed to rockets plan after some thought on the matter. I still like the other guys idea though of effecting food spawns to force people to use other means to get food. Changing Item rarity on the fly could lead to some pretty dynamic situations.

  6. Terrible idea in my opinion, I just cant see it working out the way rocket thinks it will. I understand what he's trying to do but it pretty much encourages exploiting and server hopping. It opens up possibilities of griefing and people will try and make money out of rare items outside of the game. This idea I could get behind it sounds genius, imagine looting and noticing a severe lack of food, ammo, meds maybe even droughts randomly. Panic would set in and you would really have to work, search and fight for survival. People maybe even friends fighting over the last can of beans, groups forced to hunt and fish. It would make sense to stock up on food and water in preparation for such a situation.

    How would you combat player suicide?

    Your absolutely right, but the games got a history of being unforgiving and if anything it requires more incentive to survive. People travel so little they don't care about death, permadeath has become respawn to closest location, loot your own corpse and rejoin the deathmatch. They might be a little more reluctant to suicide for better spawn or rush well equipped players with there fists as fresh spawn knowing they might end up waiting 10mins. Its not a perfect solution but the only one I can see having an effect, maybe when loot respawns people will stop suiciding because there is actually things to loot who knows.

    10min timer to respawn lol I don't mind death still means something to me so when I die its time for a break. I don't die all that often anyway because I play to survive and not deathmatch. People wont like it but if they played the game properly to begin with we wouldn't have this problem.

    Save The Trees Man! Marginalized Wilderness

    Good thread, I love the changes and new cities and towns offering more places to see and loot. But with these additions the wilderness is becoming too little. My hope is that they will add to the map size and add a nice thick layer of trees, lakes, highlands, marshlands and random abandoned campsites similar to crash sites but spawn little food and have a few previous occupants in zombie form.

    They weren't a problem in the mod and aren't that easy to accurately fire, geez not a problem. If someone can kill you with a GL they could probably kill you with a mosin much more effectively. Wow..

    Armed Helicopters Are NOT Overpowered

    Some good ideas right here, really like the chance of malfunctions for all vehicles. And 1st person view only for vehicles (id be happier with 1st person only everything but thats a different story). What about weather effects? Rainstorms would make vision pretty bad im guessing.And if theres chance of finding, fixing and flying helicopters then there should definatly be a chance to find AA guns such as stingers.

    Whats with all the GL hate? What if HE grenades are extremely rare and they add flare, smoke or gas grenades? People panic over anything now, I mean these things were in the mod and I don't remember getting killed by one once. And never found more than two HE grenades a life and even then using them required the right situation. Compared to people running around with High power sniper rifles (.50 cal) GLs don't come close to being OP.

    DayZ moving to new engine - ENFUSION

    Im no expert but I don't think player movement has anything to do with the base engine, I'm not 100% but I have dabbled with the unity engine before and player movement on that comes down to coding and player controllers. With full control over the engine (which they never had with the mod) I would think they could change player movement however they want.

    No its always been an office building actually, its in the game files. Doesn't even resemble a school in the slightest.
