5rnd .338 Lapua Magnum

Recommended Posts

I was in cherno and i went to the firestation and found ammo called 5rnd .338 lapua magnum. The ammo is supposed to be used in the L115A1 according to the ammo description. I searched on the forums and the wiki and found nothing. Does anyone know what it is? I don't think it was hacked in because I was the only one on the server and it was surronded by other stuff too.

It's very similar to the AS50, may not be anti-material though.

Is it .338 caliber? As in, .338 Lapua? If so, then no, it's not anti-material. They're still great guns though.

Actually... TheLaughingMan servers has this gun in its loot table, it is not hacked in, just not set as a default DayZ weapon, if you do it correctly, you can make any gun in ArmA 2 and OA in DayZ.

This gun is in a lot of Private Hive servers. If you're on a private hive, then that would most likely explain it.

Offtopic, but seeing as how I'm a professional derp, how do I tell the difference between a public server and a private hive?

Private servers with modified loot tables may have these in such places as well as barracks and chopper crashes. If your not on a private server it is a hacked in item for your question about how tell on the server Private or Public it will usually be in the title of the server before you log into it.

In most launchers the server will have a cloud beside the name which would explain if it's a Private Hive or a Public Hive. If I recall correctly, the cloud icon symbolizes that it's a Private Hive.

I think you can turn off Private Hives if you use DayZ commander, so that's one way you can do it. The other is that official servers have to follow a certain naming rule.

For example, a private hive might be called "GenericClanGaming #2 [v1.7.4.4][MORE VEHICLES][CUSTOM LOOT][270 HELI'S][EXTRA GAYNESS+] - dayz.st"

Where as a public hive server's name: "DayZ - US 1234 (v1.7.2.4/beta 95417) [3DP:ON CH:OFF][uTC-4] DayZMod.com - DayZWiki.com" (stolen from dayzwiki.com)

The thing to look out for, is pretty much the "US 1234" part, most servers named like this are public hives. If it says more vehicles, or more loot, it's private.
