azerbijon123 6 Posted December 16, 2012 I think the intensity of this game release is getting to everyone... :P
realspike 10 Posted December 16, 2012 So what he says is basically that the game itself is ready for release and hes just looking for a release platform. It was planned to retail it over steam but it seems like steam needs some time to set it up. thats why he cant announce something because its in steams hands and he cant say how long they will need.So if steam cant make it this month, he has to consider if he wants to delay the release or use another way of releasing it to avoid that. Also bearing in mind what would be the best option, Delay isnt optimal but releasing it another way isnt optimal either. So hes still hoping for a steam release.Although i thought that it should be quite predictable how long it takes to release something on steam...but of course we want to have a stable way to download it and no server chaos etc pp..
Mini Maracas 37 Posted December 16, 2012 Talking steam here, it'd make sense if they release it as soon as the Christmas sales start, or just after they end... Think about it.If it's released when the steam Christmas sales start, loads of people will buy it, so more money for steam. If it's released as soon as the sales end, more money for steam. Loads of people want the game, so if it's not on sale, they'll still buy it anyway, or wait for the next big sale, which could be as late as Easter, or even the summer.Valve are probably reading this like "Look at all the people who will empty their pockets out to us, MWAHAHAHAHAH! What we need next is HATS! EVERYONE LOVES HATS, RIGHT? BUY ALL OUR HATS GUYS!"Oh Valve :3

djshauny1 222 Posted December 16, 2012 Steam is the best option. If its delayed then im all for it.It will be worth the wait.

Thasik 79 Posted December 16, 2012 I wish he could be just somewhat straight forward and give us facts instead of riddles, I really don't mind SA being delayed I just want straight answers. That's the thing about riddles though, the answers need to be analyzed. I could give you the answers myself but what answers have not already been given? There are many ways to release a riddle and we need to make sure we are releasing the best riddle we can. I could just explain the riddle to you but that would be unfair to the riddle makers. But then again, who are the riddle makers? Who am I? Where are we? What is the meaning of life?

But then again, who are the riddle makers? Who am I? Where are we? What is the meaning of life?/Rolls eyes, Its exactly what it means, Its just not Rockets game anymore or the few that made the MOD with him. Its a stand alone and now others people money is behind it so they also have to weigh in on the release and make sure its right for all people in involved, no riddles.. Steam side is not that hard pretty much as he said in his tumbbler last time its as easy as pushing a button to load the code to steam, but steam also has to weigh in on whats best to get the buyers to buy and when. So all though there was no definate of him saying delay, he is saying once all parties give the go, then we will go, so just know if any party does not want to it may be delayed. So I really think we will see it as a Steam Christmas special soon, but if not they will make the best decesion to give it to us next year which I'm fine with so we get the best game possible. Remember that jackass Sergay is also watching these updates from Rocket and is hoping he releases a buggy game so he can pass of his game more and lie to his buyers and say DayZ SA is worst off than his shitty game. xxxxenoxxx 32 Posted December 16, 2012 Its pretty obvious he is saying that the next step is determined by factors beyond his direct control. The game imo is ready and the release strategy is the next hurdle. As he has suggested, there are other players involved in the financing and behind the scenes stuff so once everyone ticks the boxes, green light will be given. I would say there is a very good chance we will see the release before the end of the holidays and the only question will be..will it be on steam or will it be sold directly through the site. I am sure that issue is playing a major part, steam has to be the goal from day 1.
xxxxenoxxx 32 Posted December 16, 2012 One last point, to the moaners...read between the lines..why do you think he hasnt even hinted at a possible delay in recent days.

djshauny1 222 Posted December 16, 2012 The riddles are getting stupid. Lets be honest. He said we would have news by the end of the week but this is just a bit silly.

xxxxenoxxx 32 Posted December 16, 2012 They have already stated in a few places that it will be on Steam :) (can't wait for the release)The point is, i suspect the steam release is what is holding things up and they may well be weighing up whether it would be be better or worse to sell directly in the mean time. Ovation 52 Posted December 16, 2012 I Knew this all along, he would tell us if the game was not ready straight away, It had to be other reasons why he could not give a date, BUT it will be this month no doubt X mas Sales on steam.WOOT!!!!
KetchupOnTheDog 41 Posted December 16, 2012 all i can say is; i hope rocket lives up to his word this time.
kiotie 23 Posted December 16, 2012 The point is, i suspect the steam release is what is holding things up and they may well be weighing up whether it would be be better or worse to sell directly in the mean time.He did also say that they'll be integrating Steam technologies such as VAC, so it's highly doubtful that they would ever sell the game without Steam. Holding it back or not, Steam is the best way to go in my personal opinion. Much easier distribution, very convenient technologies, etc.

esuoh 35 Posted December 16, 2012 Well, the day is almost over, and not a single word about the announcement on Twitter or Tumblr. I wish he would just stay quiet instead of creating such huge expectations. I can't take him seriously if he says one thing and does another instead. Still, the mod is great, and I believe the SA will be even better. But it can't hurt to act like a professional. You can't simply say you're going to make an announcement and then "oops, I had no time, my bad". That's just bad PR for DayZ SA.
