Yay, Bandit and Hero identifiers are coming in

I dont like bandit skins. People kill after being shot at and kill their attacker and are then given the bandit skin.

Then they are screwed forever.

Don't really see how this will be any different from the original bandits skins. The game still cannot differentiate between killing someone for fun and killing after being shot at.

This will do nothing, because in overall the Mod went to hell. The amount of idiots on a hill killing spawns wont change! When you find someone the bandit skin doesnt really mean much in my opinion. If you have better gear he will still be tempted to put a bullet in your head.

I got killed today in Cherno because i heard some dude break is leg and stood up to try and see where he was, i wasnt standing for 1 min and got a headshot will trying to talk to the dude to go and help him.

"Trying to be a "hero" huh? Nice, ill kill him."

And before this i died in the middle of the woods, trying to make a fire, because some hacker decided to nuke the server, making me lose my ghillie.

Plus there are way to many problems that need solving.

Just think..

- Tent saving needs fixing to stop duping or whatever it is;

- Leg breaking is still stupid in many ways;

- Loot spawning still stops from time to time;

- Hacking is over the roof;

- Ghillie and Camo still glitch, plus, they bug your backpacks now;

- Big cities have too few zombies, people spawn and immediatly run in Elektro, Cherno, Berezino and pretty much get everything they need to start killing some noobs;

- Zombies are still too easy to lose and deceive, and their movement is still horrid, its like if David Cooperfield and Usain Bolt had a child, it would be a DayZ zombie;

- If you change your bag with one on the floor, yours dissapears;

- Inventory mechanic is the worst i've ever seen;

- Dcing so you wont die continues;

- Server hoping continues;

- People using empty or private servers to get gear continues;

And this is just the ones i remembered.

Dont take me wrong, i will keep playing, and ill keep telling everyone this is a great "game" and that they should try it, i just think the direction that the development is taking, doesnt seem to focus on the real prioritys. Thats all.

I rather have a KoS Chernarus with things working properly, then a Friendly Chernarus full of bugs and hackers. Why worry with the KoS if you can die opening a door?

Hmm, not really sure how you would be identified as a 'hero'.

What I mean is, what requirements/criteria must be met to get the hero skin? For bandits it's simple, just killing.

But not killing wouldn't be enough, because you start off with 0 kills, automatically making you a 'hero', I guess?

Length of time without killing people? bandit kills? and to a lesser extent, helping randoms with morphine/blood/painkillers/bandages? (Assuming you build a sort of karma tolerance helping the same person over and over -- ie. the game realizes he's just a clan mate, not you actually helping a stranger)

At this point I almost welcome their return so all the people who think they are going to be a magical solution to all their troubles realize that they get shot in the face just as often as they ever did and that people not wearing the skin are still going to be just as dangerous.

Bandits should get eyepatches yarrrrrr !

That said I hope Rockets does not soften humanity up to much.

For me bandit skins where quite a good indicator had more survivors held than i had survivors killing me though there where those too(most of them pissed cause i put their bandit buddies down).

ps. anyone has a quote or record or something?

I kinda don't want this to happen, just because I don't like the idea of knowing that you are a bandit or hero. Then again I really don't care because I kill anyone who aren't in my group.

i think the hero skin should be awarded if:

A. you haven't killed anybody at all

B. you kill bandits or

C. you have gone a long time without killing

if c applied then i'm good.

I hate that he only tests small things.

It's an alpha bro.

Break the game already.

They did with teh graphical issue plaguing most people.

If it's true, It's about frikkin time. But it needs some tweaking if a "hero" gets shot at by a none bandit and defends himself.

All very good ideas to work on, however, Rocket has stated in many many interviews that most of that stuff will not be addressed in the mod, as it will be "much easier to fix in a standalone".

As for the Bandie/Hero skins I LOVE THE IDEA! Building up a meta-score over time for surviving without killing other players sounds great. Gaining more points for killing banits to further increase your score sounds great too. I would like to see someway to distinguish a long-time survivor with some kind of perk. Not asking for anything MMORPGish, something small and rewarding, other then the self satifaction of surviving. Just something to throw out there. It wouldn't exactly give players a direction, but it gives them an option to work for something other then run and gun deathmatching everything in site.

How are you supposed to change your humanity by helping people if everyone shoots you on site because you accidentally got the bandit skin?

Unless the skin evolves as the player does.

Here is a concept:

1-2 Kills - Neutral

3+ Kills - Bandit

Bandaging another player removes 1 Kill

Blood Transfusions remove 2 kills

If you are at neutral, banding and transfusions give positive points.

How optimistic can you be about the standalone if they cant even make a door work properly?

Even the official launcher is crap. DayZ Commander is "Fan Made" and beats SixLauncher by freaking miles!
