Berezino. The gem of the north?

so after suvriving for a week i'm still lacking some vital equipment for my survival escapades,I find myself a little low on blood running out of food and sodas,I decide to head north rather then heading south to the shit holes that are elektro and cherno.Polana was my intended destination i notice it has a supermarket and really is in the middle of nowere miles from any spawn point noones going to go there right?

so i take my trusty compass(found it my first day this thing is by far my most treasured posession)and head up north i get to polana with little trouble and find a completely unlooted town every were i go i find top flight gear maps,matches,hunting knives,alice packs food sodas guns ammo u name this little town has spawned it for me.

so i am now fairly well kitted out it's 3 am and i have to work in 4 hours.Log off just outside the town.In the meantime i get a message from a mate of mine who has finally added me on skype(never used it before dayz vent or ts3 normally)so we get chatting and i tell his useless ass to log into dayz so i have a friendly to play with instead of just getting shot at everytime i see someone.

he respawns and heads off to meet me he has a pretty epic journey as we are talking turns out when he reaches to palce we have agreed to meet up his legs are broke no food/water 1200 blood and in generally piss poor shape,we log off and decide to pick it up another day.

long story short i hook up with him patch him up and we head off.Playing this game with friends really does open the wonderful game up even more i do have to say.

So we decide to head to berezino it has what looks like some nice locations.We are a little concerned as it looks extremely open and a snipers wet dream but decide fuck it in for a penny. We get there have a look around.and we hit the mother load we now both have EVERYTHING we need to survive.i got a lee(i do love this gun even though it makesa racket) him a winnie loads of ammo food meds water sidearms ammo plus our tool belts are full.while we are congratlating our selves we hear something that makes us both just hit the dirt...a car..this could go south very quickly.We decide to see if we can get eyes on and kill the guy take his ride (we really didn't want to be shoot on sight assholes but if u can't beat em etc) and besides it's a car ask yourself would u jack the guy given the chance?We failed he gassed it up and buggered off not even stopping within the city limits.

so to the real point of this post

How busy is berezino do people actually make and effort to raid this place or mainly stick to the north west area and stary after moving off the coast?

from what i have seen hardly anybody comes here i have been on full servers and come up to the place to find it completely intact stuffed to gills with loot.

do people see it as to much hassle to get to or just to open?

i'm intrigued to get other peoples assessment of the place.Cherno and Elektro are now dead to me never stepping foot in those shit holes again.

People definitely hit Berezino. Myself and a few friends head in often for supplies and I usually have a fun time picking off the infected there. Generally you're going to run into better geared folks there so I don't think it's all "that" safe, but I also don't think it's the hotbed of activity that is Stary Sobor and the NW airfield.

I always hit Berezino on my way to the NE airfield. Usually I make a nice circuit starting south, working my way east, then I head north up the coast, and finally back west towards Devil's Castle and the NW airfield. I have seen a few survivors in the area, but it's not like Cherno or Elektro, that's for sure.

Berezino is usually a good bet if you are up that way. Hit the military camp West of town for assualt rifles.

It's a great place to loot, and awful for snipers due to the lack of taller areas.

Some sniper tried to kill me and my friend there. Missed every shot.

A Hospital, Hospital away from Cherno/Elektro, The med supplies for the northern camps, almost every (If not all) groups that have camps are up north, raiding Cherno/Elektro for meds is a death wish more so if they are military geared, this makes Berezino Hospital the best place to restock meds for a large group.

Two Supermarkets, Food and Drink + Tools for you, your friend and your group, much more benefical than the cities, double the loot and less of a walk if you are on the NE of the map.

Deer Stands in the town limits, these are hit up pretty frequently.

Vehicle Spawns, There are two within the city, one in Nizhnoye and one in Solnichniy, Berezino while containing these also has plenty of buildings to find parts in.

Throw in the high yeild buildings (Three Story Office/School and Apartments), Warehouses and Barns.

Berezino is the place that looks deserted but is actually very well travelled, Northern Camps hit it a lot for supplies to save travel times.

You will usually find at least one person up in Berezino, but it's a big place and easy to miss people in it. Clans(like mine,) will often raid it for industrial and medical supplies. It's a very important city for those that set up camp on the east side of the map. The danger of Berezino isn't from campers, but from snipers sitting overwatch over their group while they load up on supplies. If you see 1 person in Berezino, expect their to be 2-3 more just around the corner and at least one looking out through a sniper scope.

This. Me and mine roll through this town as a group of 4+, it's very well placed for what we do and a lot of people mistake it for being a fire-free zone. I've put down more players in this town than any other, electro and cherno included. Best advice would be hit the high yield area's fast (supermarkets/tents/school building) and if you hear any shots or cars just hide or run, run as fast as you can.

Depends once i was kiled by a sniper after i crossed half the map crawling after a broken leg. My longest survivor used up 400 bullets on zeds and no other survivor came. I was as loud as possible. The middle super market has some nice stairs that slow zeds to pick them off

This! I tend to make a "lot" of noise killing Z's and firing my gun. I'm hoping most people will think twice about entering. And if they do, so be it. I'm not attached to my gear.

In the last month I have seen more people up there, more than over the NW (inc, sobor)

Cherno and Electro are becoming quite, the players have to go somewhere.

The supermarket and flat complexes are deadly places in Berezino. You have been warned.

I'm up there right now and just had a fire fight with another survivor. I hit him with 3 revolver rounds and he hit me with two. I had to reload and he ran away. I bandaged up and went and hid for the night. I need some food or blood now.

ALL towns are a great source to get starter gear. Any that aren't Elec/cher are a lot safer, which is to be expected since they are next to the spawn points. Most towns give the same value, you'll be likely to find what you need from matches, knife, water bottle and hatchet. They'll probably have cans of food/soda and some crappy weapons (winchester/enfield etc). You might even find a half decent pistol. You could get a tent and a decent backpack also.

Aside from that, nothing of GREAT value, this is what I personally consider starting gear needed to survive the journey to airfields/bases etc. Personally, I prefer to get my goods from cherno/electro. If I die? No matter, I'll spawn right near it again. I also have the chance to kill a few people and take their stuff. It sucks a bit more heading up there to those towns to get the same loot and ending up dying. I'd rather get the starter gear over with first.

The town does have some deer stands near it though I believe, where you can get some military grade weapons, but so what? You can get to stands easily enough anyway.

You shouldn't really set your eyes on a specific town, rather the closest to you. Any further north than the coast ones are safer in most regards, but if you die, then also longer to get back there. They are nice stop off points to grab some morphine though, but I won't leave town until I got the required stuff to feast in the wild and 3-4 morphine.
