So ya food and hunger is pretty messed up.

Yup, It's not exactly brain surgery. I don't own any guns (not because I'm against guns, just always had better things to spend money on.) So I don't shoot very often but when I do, I have no problems hitting what I'm shooting at. Am I a sniper? Hell no but I could certainly hit a human sized target without much trouble from a range where that person/zombie is a threat to me.

So does this game run smooth yet?

I just upgraded from a fx 6200 / GTX 460 to a 4770k / GTX 770. I went from about 18 - 22 fps in the city, 45 fps in the woods with really bad fps drops to now getting 33 - 40 in the big cities and 70 - 100+ in the woods and smaller cities. I'm also not experiencing any more fps drops. That being said, I hope it improves drastically in the future, although I'm not counting on it. BI games don't exactly have the best track record when it comes to optimization.

    Optimization and Performance Questions

My performance dropped from Mod to SA. Went from about 25 in cities to 17 - 20. I recently upgraded from an FX-6200 to a i7-4770k and still only get about 35 fps in cities.

Pc build for Dayz and future gaming

My first build was of similar specs and budget as yours. I also bought one of the cheapest boards (ASUS M5A97) I could find with horrible results. First board arrived DOA. Second board lasted 4 months, third board lasted almost a year. They were covered under warranty but each time, my PC was down for an extended amount of time. If you do go with that board, I would not recommend any overclocking at all. And keep it cool. I had a Hyper 212 evo and it kept my temps nice and cool on the stock clock, plus it's cheap.

Any particular reason you're running a micro ATX board in a mid tower case?

Seems legit, are players already hacking?

Are people "hacking" watch this vid starting at the 22:00 mark. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfPstXBq92c
  7. I've noticed (and I'm not sure if the mod was the same.) but while you have the dialog box up, your character still moves when you hit one of the WASD keys. This can cause some problems. For example. Yesterday, I was on top of one of the tall apartment buildings that overlooks Balota when I heard someone coming up the stairs. I moved over to the ladder to watch for him and he said "I'm friendly, don't shoot me." . Since I didn't have my mic on I hit the dialog key and started to type, "If you come up I w" when my character moved forward and fell down the shaft. Which brings me to another issue. After falling down the hole, not only did my character not die but I ended up on a floor that should not be accessible. No open doors, stairs washed out, no ladder. I think it would be best if movement was disabled while the dialog box is open.

The RV engine is the worst engine ever made.

I'll reserve judgement until at least beta. But I'm not holding my breath for better performance.

How do you prepare to log off?

I did it yesterday. Well, I didn't log but I dropped all my gear, took off my pants and sat in the middle of the airfield. generally yelling at passers by. Took nearly 20 minutes for someone to shoot me. I want the ability to make cardboard signs to hold up, "Will work for food", "THE END IS HERE!". etc.

How do you prepare to log off?

    1. Run to the middle of Balota Air Field. 2. F3 to sit down. 3. Log out.

The Mosin is the new Mountain Dew

See, I find the scopes quite often, I'm almost always carrying one with me. The rifle, not so much. Everywhere people say to find them, I find M4's. M4's multiply like rabbits.
  13. It appears that the Mosin is, for me at least, this games Mountain Dew. For me, they are extremely rare and once I find one I am mere seconds away from death. I have found 3 of them so far. The first was in a TEC building in Cherno. There was a guy about to pick it up and I startled him, he backed up the stairs with his pistol trained on me and said, "Don't pick up the gun or I'll shoot". I responded with, "I don't think you have any ammo.". Turns out I was wrong as he killed me as soon as I picked it up. The second one I found was in a hanger at the NEAF. I dropped a fully custom M4 to pick it up. As I came around the back of the hanger I saw a guy enter the ACT, At first I thought he had not seen me so I backed up to take cover behind the wall near the industrial building. After two or three minutes of observing the ATC with no movement it became clear that he had seen me and was waiting for me to make a move. I decided to back off as I had no intention of killing him. As soon as I turned around, there he was, he had ghosted behind me and shot me in the face. I spawned in Kamenka and decided to run the coast all the way up to Berezhino. Along the way I was able to get fully geared, M4 with all attachments and tons of ammo, full camo, food, meds, etc. I ran into a few people, most of which were friendly, traded some food and water. Ran into one mad man with a bat who nearly scored a knockout blow on me before I dispatched him. After checking out Berezhino I made my way back towards the NEAF and stopped at Krasnostav along the way. I ran up into the school building up on the hill on the north side of town and there it was in the top floor small room, my holy grail. I picked up the Mosin while leaving my M4 slung on my should and equipped the long range scope and bi-pod that I had been carrying since Balota. I loaded up 5 rounds and went out on the roof to have a look around through my new scope. I stopped near the edge of the roof and looked over the NEAF and everything appeared pretty quiet. As I zoomed out of my scope my character decided he had had enough and with no input from me, ran strait off the roof and took a header into ground. YOU ARE DEAD.

Will this work as a general gaming pc?

Here is a video of a good $650 gaming PC which translates to under £500 for you. https://teksyndicate.com/videos/build-650-gaming-pc-dec-2013
