These guys are great. I thought I was down and out on my ninth life, that'd I'd finally become successful on. I'd spawned in Nova Sober and was in this glitched room, which I eventually escaped but, not without injury. Without supplies, I aggro'd zombies, and ran to a hatchet. Fighting them off, and losing blood, I went to bandage myself but, it glitched out of my inventory. I'd found an Alice pack and various supplies that I didn't want to lose. I bolted as fast as I could out of town, and as I headed out the road; was fired upon by a survivor group while near a deer-stand. Pride and body injured, I crawled across the field bleeding. I bandaged myself in the medical tents in Stary, and looted them, but, I was mauled by a group of zombies.

Low on food, also, without painkillers, I used one of my few last bandages to stem the bleeding at 3286 parts per blood. The doctor, Soultrasher read my medical form and overview map I had hasty drawn describing my situation, rushed to my aid and healed me. I shared with him my extra bandages and we parted ways.

Kudo's to you guys, I may become a medic myself now. Someday, who knows, I may want to join that fancy list of yours.

Medic story - "Blood loss"

"I Need your help, I'm on NW Airfield. I have only a few hundred blood left and bleeding badly" -said the private message.

As soon as I saw the low blood level, and "bleeding badly", the image of the patient, that bled out today - right before my eyes - popped out.

"Can't allow that to happen again." - I thought, yet I had a bad feeling, that it might not work out, regardless my effort. With such a low blood level, even a minor connection desync will be fatal.

The location was the notoric NW Airfield, yet there were only a few people on the server, probably due to the global server list maintenance.

"That's good.", I though.

But, it's pitch black, in spite of gamma adjusting. No NV googles.

"Oh, that's bad."

It started raining.

"Bad."

Patient is unsure of his location, as his previous guess turned out to be wrong.

"Bad."

My screen starts shaking, as the hypothermia kicks in.

"Very bad."

I finally found the location of my patient - the burned out pick-up rammed in the middle of a destroyed tank. It only confirmed the patients, somehow embarrassing story about finding a car, only to crash it right afterwards into the tank sitting in the middle of the road, thus blowing it up, destroying equipment in the trunk and barely surviving.

The patient, whose patiently waiting in the server lobby, is well aware of seriousness of the situation, so we decided to use Skype for communication. We dealt with important details, like exact position of his body, as he will spawn unconscious.

A zombie suddenly snore behind my back, but luckily doesn't see me, so we commence the operation.

The patients body suddenly appeared in front of me - standing.

The location is right then, but I can't bandage him yet, as we have to wait for the server to load his current critical state.

"So far, so good", I'm thinking, as I'm having my bandages ready to use as fast as possible.

Then the body hit the ground at one, bleeding rapidly.

"Six hundred.", he indicates his blood level

"Five hundred."

I started immediately patching him up

"Four hundred."

...

"Three hundred."

...

The bleeding finally stopped. I gave him a blood transfusion right away and we waited for him to regain consciousness. Then we got to the barracks, m4 was there, but I decided to keep my AKS-74 Kobra. I was delighted to find a heatpack thou, getting my temperature back to normal. No help was needed afterwards, so he thanked me again and we said farewell to each other.

I was mentally exhausted. But the feeling from the job done well, rewarded me enough.

I registered, that people are getting back to server, as the blockade caused by the maintenance seemed to be lifted off, so I decided to quickly find some safe spot to log out.

"-cough-cough!-" my character cough abruptly.

Oh... crap.

I will write what happened afterwards later - about my sudden and unexpected death, how I was afterwards transported in a car back to north and how I regained all my equipment back.

Signing off for the night. After 5 success stories, plus for the first time being on the receiving end (thanks a bunch MikaelM for the morphine I suddenly needed on my way home after giving away my stocks! I owe you one! ) , and then well over 90 minutes trying to locate our lost little lamb, eventually by running up and down the beach from Three Valleys to north of the factory north of Solnichniy, it all ended in tears when wulfgar/nightslayer78 unfortunately managed to get himself killed before we could reach him.

:beans: R.I.P. previous incarnation of wulfgar, the first I couldn't save in time. You shall be remembered. :beans:

We three planned to meet together, hang out and pool our supplies, but Lynx wasnt able to make it, as he was too far away for the wee hours in europe, and his bike was sadly gone. Ben supplied me with dearly needed food and water and quickly dispatched the intruding Z with his badass silenced gun. He was more than happy to throw away the excess weaponry in his backpack and stuff it with medical supplies for the good of his patients. He is definitely one of the good guys.

So while i head back south to get more meds, i do it with the good feeling that there is one more committed medic roaming the highlands, equipped and willing to help those in need.

Was great to meet up with you, and thanks very much for the med supplies. I've cooked the meat ready for anybody who needs it, time to go and get that water bottle filled up. Also, if your trying to hunt down more med supplies i would recommend headng east to berezino as its usually a bit quieter than the south coast. i'm in the UK and as our timezones aren't far apart if you fancy meeting up for a run into berezino hospital tomorrow evening give me a shout. The silenced weaonry comes in handy for smashing the glass at the hospital :D

This may be a technical issue but it might be a medical issue. My internet started cutting in and out on me, and now whenever I join a server I get knocked out. I read about the shock mechanic and this sounds similar. Is this a medical issue or a technical issue?

It was really nice to talk to you and fun when the Infected entered the barn. I should've recorded my face when I could not reload my hatchet and had to switch to my gun. Also, thank you, Voltage, for letting me know that there was a third one behind me. That really took me off-guard.

Even though I feel bad about killing that suspicious individual, it needed to be done. Sadly, the laggy server got him killed even though he had 9,000 blood remaining. I am really sorry I wasn't able to get you your M24 back, but I got your compass. And I PROMISE to find you a military weapon.

Hey no problem... I spawned in solnichiny (or however it's spelled) and it only took a few minutes to get back. I grabbed my gear and I waited a few minutes before switching to the server with my bike and it hadn't saved the gear... glitched some more gear out of existence. :D

It was already bright out on the server with my motorcycle. I found my bike was where I left it, (swet.), and decided to pack it in. Then I realized that I was on the server where I had found those 3 tents on top of Klen which was only a minutes drive away. went up there and cleaned them out, I did lose my standard equipment but they had another m24 and also an akm with 5 clips which I took the liberty of. Basically also took all the food and medical supplies I hadn't taken the first time around. Heh... sorry if they belong to anyone on here but well... those tents probably shouldn't be next to an atv spawn point if you don't want them raided. :S

Edit: also that was random how I died without losing my blood, especially considering I was seemingly fine, firing my weapon for a few seconds after taking damage... ah day z.
