I was really immersed into playing DayZ. I started to play as a silent lonewolf - always trying to be sneaky, avoiding hight populated areas, and trying to not get into contact with other survivors. And I was experiencing tremendous fun playing like that! Yet, it started to be boring after awhile. I started to interact with survivors more, as I begun to explore more populated areas. And, it was fun as well! I learned from my mistakes, being shot numerous times, yet - in spite of my growing frustration - I didnt succumb into shooting players on sight. However I quickly found out, that game mechanics give every possible advantage to playing game as a deathmatch. And if youre succesful into finding a group to play with, the game simply tranforms into a team-deathmach. And as I was quite experienced in simple surviving, yet I didnt want to be a bandit or shoot-on-sight lonewolf, the game lost its point for me.
The only thing keeping me in game now, is my attempt to work as a medic - providing medical help on request. Which I found to be VERY rewarding task to do! So until there wont be enough requests for medic, or I wont find other way to be useful, I will stick to be a medic. ;)

    Dying for stupid reasons

This is called BUG by all definitions. Fire mode changed when I got out of car and got me killed as well. And that it wasn't fixed up till now is a damned shame. And to all those idiotic comments like "Why would you use full auto" and "Don't blame your death to full auto... bla bla bla", go shove it up your ass! I'm f*** sick of these kind of dismissing degrading comments to somebody, who's having a legitimate trouble with something.

A NEW DAWN Hospital and food bank

I believe that password protected server would be the safest and easiest way of offering help. But yes, it might have destroy the feeling of the game to some degree - making it too sterile. Who knows. Anyway, I wish you a good luck! If I could be of any help, just let me know. ;) Edit: Hmm, actually I'm starting to be quite excited about the idea. :D Edit 2: pwing is forbidden? Didn't have a clue about that, as I did see some pwed servers on the server list before

A NEW DAWN Hospital and food bank

Ok, I think the idea is great! And with the password protected server, I can see it very real. But I see a few points, that are unclear to me, or that I would change a bit. Please, don't let my criticism discourage you in any way, I mean it in a good way. ;) Also, it's just my subjective view on the matter, which might not be correct, or you might have a totally different idea about the project itself. 1) I would change the layout of the first page here, so it could be more transparent. 2) You mentioned, that you would take care about the survivors, that needs help. Just keep in mind, that most of the survivors, who need urgent help, are from my experience, unable to go anywhere far, because: -they have either broken bones -or they barely see because of their low blood level, which makes them orientate quite hard, and defending from zombies on their way even harder -usually, when they need urgently food/water, they have some of the conditions above 3) If you would expand your services, by following actions, it would greatly help medics in the field: -providing equipment for medics, who got shot dead, or who are new, yet already established. Specifically NV Googles, and GPS (since you gave me those, helping people got twice as easy and safe) -providing "safe server" for medics on their way to their patients, or even allowing the patients to be patched up there, in their varied locations. But it would be much harder I guess, to keep an eye on everybody. Yet, even if you wouldn't or couldn't monitor everybody connecting the server, it would be definitely safer for both patient and medic. Changing the password once in a while might help as well. 4) The already mentioned password would filter out the casual shoot-on-sight players, and most of the bandits, greatly improving the safety for medics, patients and staff. If your facility has a fixed positin, and without a password, I see it undefendable, due to the DayZ login/logout mechanics, where you can "teleport" anywhere, anytime. Also, the people connecting to the server might not know the rules, or might not even understand english (if not password protected). 5) This might seem a bit selfish, but allowing ONLY medics to get inside your camp, where you stash your equipment, would makes it much safer for you, and the equip itself. If anything else cross my mind, I will let you know here. Good luck!

    DayZ Stories

Medic story - "Revived" The new private message suddenly pops out: "Hi,are you still near NW Airfield? I was shot by a sniper, have low blood and I'm currently west of Airfield, can you help me? I have a blood bag on me, but don't have anybody for transfusion." I'm quite relieved. Coordinates sent by my new patient appoints to the forested hill, not far from the airfield, yet far enough for the location to be considered safe. I'm on the same server with my escort - Demon, yet I have to delay our meeting a bit, as the patient is just on the way to our meeting point, and I didn't want the patient to wait for too long. Server is low populated, yet I feel a slight disconfort, as I'm running quickly through an open field, which was still in the close proximity of the airfield. "Friendly medic approaching, don't shoot! Friendly medic approaching, can you hear me?", I'm trying to comunicate with my patient, as I'm closing in to the forest. No answer. "Friendly medic approaching, can you hear me?", I try again. Still no answer. While running up the hill, I spot a lying survivor. "I'm friendly medic, can you hear me?" No answer. I started to be a little bit nervous, yet trying to stay positive, as I quickly typed to chat window: "I'm medic, can I help you?" ... "Yes, I need a blood transfusion.", appeared on the screen. I sigh out of relief, and started the blood transfusion. After finishing up with the patient, I managed to meet up with Demon - my escort, who gave me antibiotics for my disease, which was however magically cured, after connecting to the server. Since there were no new patients, I logged out. "Hi, I'm near Grishino, I have only a three thousand blood left, can you help me?", my new patient wrote me by the steam chat. "Yes, I can help you, can you give me your exact position?" "I'm exactly 320m north of Grishino." "That's not helpful", I thought. "Can you give me exact coordinates?" "48 59." "That's on airfield." "No, I'm north of Grishino." Frustration started to pile up, as another request of the patient poped out. Devils castle. Good, thats in the right direction, yet... "Use this map and post the coordinates again, ok? http://dayzdb.com/map#4.054.054 " ... "Oh I'm on 59 48, sorry I reversed the numbers somehow." "Now we can talk", I thought for myself, as I was logging in. Deamon said, he was already near Grishino waiting for me, while he scouted the surroundings. As usual, we are both on skype. "Ok, I just logged in and I'm going to your location... ah...", the words froze in my throat, as I felt the adrenaline rushing to my head. A player. In front of me. He's running around, as if he didn't mind my presence. "H-Hey, I'm medic. Friendly!", I shouted hesitantly, while my brain tried to answer thousands of questions popping in my mind. Is he Demon - my escort? Did I misunderstand him, and he waited for me here instead? The probability of meeting a random player right here is extremely low after all. "Can you hear me?", I tried to speak again via direct chat, while the fact, that we are both on skype didn't get throu my logic circuit at the moment. The player suddenly turned to me, pointing his weapon at me. At that moment, it was quite clear to me, that he's not Demon. While not knowing, if he's friendly or not, I decided to run. "Pop-pop-pop", the bullets started flying around my head. I instinctively turned around, shooting back at the agressor, when suddenly... "You're dead!" - the unpopular screen appeared. I spawned near Komarovo, and while my hands were full of cancelling the requests, Demon was able to take care of my patient in Grishino in the meantime. And he had a good news for me - he, with some of his friends was able to save my equipment somehow, and told me to meet them up in Zelenogorsk, where a car should pick me up. A car! Right after getting near Zelenogorsk, the car engine rumbles, and I quickly got inside. To my big surprise, Demon with his friends gathered for me not only the equipment that I lost there, but they gave me a LOT more than that. Apart from basic equipment as compass, matches, etc, they provided me with some extra medical supplies, M4 SD, NV Googles, GPS, Map and a camo cothes. "You know, I have to tell you something.", a Demons friend, who was driving the car, broke the silence. "We didn't know, that you were on that hill back there. There was a player, shooting at our truck from that location, and we were searching for him. When we found you, we thought you're him. So the one who shot you was us. I'm very sorry about that." At that moment, I wasn't angry at all. ;)

    DayZ Stories

Medic story - "Close call" "I Need your help, I'm on NW Airfield. I have only a few hundred blood left and bleeding badly" -said the private message. As soon as I saw the low blood level, and "bleeding badly", the image of the patient, that bled out today - right before my eyes - popped out. "Can't allow that to happen again." - I thought, yet I had a bad feeling, that it might not work out, regardless my effort. With such a low blood level, even a minor connection desync will be fatal. The location was the notoric NW Airfield, yet there were only a few people on the server, probably due to the global server list maintenance. "That's good.", I though. But, it's pitch black, in spite of gamma adjusting. No NV googles. "Oh, that's bad." It started raining. "Bad." Patient is unsure of his location, as his previous guess turned out to be wrong. "Bad." My screen starts shaking, as the hypothermia kicks in. "Very bad." I finally found the location of my patient - the burned out pick-up rammed in the middle of a destroyed tank. It only confirmed the patients, somehow embarrassing story about finding a car, only to crash it right afterwards into the tank sitting in the middle of the road, thus blowing it up, destroying equipment in the trunk and barely surviving. The patient, whose patiently waiting in the server lobby, is well aware of seriousness of the situation, so we decided to use Skype for communication. We dealt with important details, like exact position of his body, as he will spawn unconscious. A zombie suddenly snore behind my back, but luckily doesn't see me, so we commence the operation. The patients body suddenly appeared in front of me - standing. The location is right then, but I can't bandage him yet, as we have to wait for the server to load his current critical state. "So far, so good", I'm thinking, as I'm having my bandages ready to use as fast as possible. Then the body hit the ground at one, bleeding rapidly. "Six hundred.", he indicates his blood level "Five hundred." I started immediately patching him up "Four hundred." ... "Three hundred." ... The bleeding finally stopped. I gave him a blood transfusion right away and we waited for him to regain consciousness. Then we got to the barracks, m4 was there, but I decided to keep my AKS-74 Kobra. I was delighted to find a heatpack thou, getting my temperature back to normal. No help was needed afterwards, so he thanked me again and we said farewell to each other. I was mentally exhausted. But the feeling from the job done well, rewarded me enough. I registered, that people are getting back to server, as the blockade caused by the maintenance seemed to be lifted off, so I decided to quickly find some safe spot to log out. "-cough-cough!-" my character cough abruptly. Oh... crap. I will write what happened afterwards later - about my sudden and unexpected death, how I was afterwards transported in a car back to north and how I regained all my equipment back.

Fully equipped and available now - for a short time. PM me quickly, if you need any medical help. ;) Current location: Stary Sobor The server names are the vital information, everything else as location, status, etc is useless for a would-be bandit I guess. And I saw no one posting server names here.
