Picking up better weapon with no ammo...

I currently have ak74, however just found m16 in a deer stand with no ammo. I do have a m1911 with plenty of ammo however. Do you take the M16 and hope to find ammo for it soon, or stick with the ak for a sure thing?

Bad thing is you always find ammo for the weapon you currently don't have :(

30rnd STANAG mags are quite common actually, personally I'd have taken the M16. I also prefer that weapon series over the AK's.

I'd keep what has ammo personally. You'll find another military grade weapon down the road.

A M-16 without ammo will do you no good. An AK with ammo can save your life :-)

What if you change it, and then you find no ammo for it? But then maybe you will...

Choices, choices...this inventory management is one of the fun parts of this mod IMO. Once I put an extra pistol in my bag (no ammo for it) and carried it around for ages. Taking up *5* slots in my inventory. I'm not going to do something like that again. Now I only change guns if I have ammo for it.

I don't know if I'd say it's "better" than the AK, but I prefer it myself. I'm trained on the M16/M4 rifle series IRL, so it's what I'm used to. I much prefer the M16/M4 sight picture/front sight post iron sights to the AK's open front sight post iron sights.

Keep in mind that the weapons in this game are based on their RL counterparts, so a lot of weapons don't have massive benefits over another, majority of the time it's going to just come down to what the player prefers.

Nah. Whats the point if you have no current means of firing it? Adding, I don't think one drastically out performs the other in game. I'd prefer the m16, but I would be just as happy with either or.

Now, emptying your backpack to fit the rifle until you found stag ammo is another topic.
