FIXED

  • It was not possible to access certain clothing containers in the vicinity
  • A non-functional "combine" option was displayed for plastic explosives with the remote detonator
  • Fixed a server crash related to vehicles
  • The Derringer was missing a reload sound after only one bullet was shot
  • The Derringer did not display ejected shells
  • The character got stuck in walking speed after dying while in inventory
  • It was possible to arm an empty improvised explosive using an alarm clock or kitchen timer
  • Consuming an item assigned to a quick slot could result in the slot becoming unresponsive
  • Raising hands with an opened map in hands could result in desynchronisation (https://feedback.bistudio.com/T165934)
  • Widgets were still displayed after disabling the HUD via keybinding
  • Plastic explosives were dealing inconsistent damage (this also includes additional damage rebalance to reflect this fix)
  • An improvised explosive with one plastic explosive was doing more damage than one with two explosives attached
  • Disarmed plastic explosives and improvised explosives could not be picked up
  • Timers from the improvised explosive could not be disarmed
  • Ruined landmines and bear traps were still triggered on contact

There a problem seeing items in barrels, can’t change up arrows to allow items to be seen on PlayStation 

I way around it is to move away look inside an vehicle and then move back and look in barrel and you can see items  for abit

I found an issue on P(l)aystation with switching by [L2] or [R2] through your items in clothes and equipment.
The view do not follow the curser in sight.

OMG! The inventory is messed up. Triggers and bumpers aren't working to scroll through the menu fast and efficiently. Only D pad is working.

Nice update. The game is at it's best gameplay state ever imo. But the state of the inventory of players, cars, containers etc is really getting worse and worse with each update. Can't even remember a time where the inventory was bugfree. Now it's different bugs each update

Love the new update, was looking forward to it so much… but now the game is unplayable!!! Crash a car, can’t get spares out the boot. Open a barrel, can’t access it. Build, hard to even access the walls etc to place wood. Something went really wrong and it’s has literally made the game unplayable! Please please please fix it

What do you mean? The trees are the best thing about this game.

Apart from the fact that when you chop them down they don't fall so much as come out of the ground, roots and all. Oh ,and when you log them the tree remains completely intact. Oh and the fact that a single leaf can tank a mosin round when firing out of the cover of one. 

All that aside the trees are still the best thing about the game, but that could just be down to the rest of the game currently sucking due to the increasingly worse and compounding bugs they keep introducing each update ;)

Game chat hasn't worked for me since update. No icon appears when I double click or hold left on dpad. Have tried with several different accounts on 2 different xboxs with different controller's and headsets.

 

Icon also doesn't appear if I set it to voice activated and maximum sensitivity.

No game chat is game breaking for me. Best part of this game is interaction with other players.

Party chat works fine.

 

Also inventory is now horrible to use. Triggers no longer cycle through containers. Moving things between containers is a huge pain.

I made a post on 1.17 a few weeks ago, scoring MANY bugs in the inventory, now we have NEW bugs along with the old ones... let's go:

Old:
- Unable to drop items from inside zombies/tents/cars/crates/dead bodies (holding X on Xbox), forcing you to put it in your hands and then drop it. [This problem first appears in 1.14 and 1.15 if I'm not mistaken.]
- Since 1.16 when you open the inventory near tents/crates/dead bodies/cars in general things that can have a lot of items inside, if there is a lot of items inside, only the first line of items appears, again... forcing you to open the inventory 2 ~ 3 times to show all the contents inside.
- It is also not possible to equip clothes or any other accessories such as helmets/backpacks/goggles directly on the ground or tents/cars/dead bodies (pressing Y), again forcing you to take off the clothes/backpack/helmet you are equipped with so you can equip the new one and get all the items inside the old one [Problem seen before in 1.14 or 1.15]
-If you put a holster on the plate carrier it is not possible to access the pouches inventories (from the plate carrier).
-If you put a backpack inside your inventory, when you close the inventory, the weapon that was on your back goes inside the backpack (which is inside your backpack/shirt/pants/whatever) and gets stuck there, forcing you to log out to get the gun out.
-If you enable the new command scheme, for some reason the function of switching containers (LB/RB) is slow, you press the button and there is a delay until the game responds, testing in the old control scheme the problem does not exist , the exchange is instantaneous.

New:
-Even with the character close to the barrel and it open, what's inside doesn't appear, this is happening with cars/tents/etc.
-Even closing the 'tab' of a specific item, for example the tab that shows the weapon's accessories, when pressing down (D-PAD) you don't go to the shirt or vest, you go to the weapon accessories tab, even the tab being closed.

Above are just inventory-related problems, but there are a few others:

-Sometimes when you log in or respawn, your character can't run just walk, forcing you to log out and log in to the server to fix it
-The desynchronization is worse than ever, player with nothing in hand killing other players (actually he has an AK/M4 or something else but it just doesn't appear, even when he aims with the weapon he makes the animation of aiming with the fists).
- When you try to aim (pressing LT), almost EVERY time you start to pull the aim, she just stops in the middle, forcing you to press LT more than 1 time to finally pull the ADS, the animation just cancels in the middle , and in pvp this is extremely frustrating because if you run into someone and need to aim fast, you die because you pressed the button but nothing happened. [That happens since when I started playing in 1.06, but this problem has become more recurrent with the last updates, from a RARE problem to something that happens almost EVERYTIME]

 

- FPS drops are even more pronounced and recurring along with sttutering, rendering delay, broken textures, Again compared to the new generation, yes there the game is running better there but now in 1.17 several times the textures are getting broken there too. But as I said, I've been playing since 1.06 and without a doubt it's 1.10 here, the FPS is only getting worse and more and more unplayable.

Do the devs actually test these updates on console?

I consider DAYZ to be the best game I've ever played, but the inventory system has gone from just about bearable to utterly broken with this latest update.

I've been thinking the exact same thing the past few updates. But then it occurred to me that they get informed of all these issues during experimental testing but then just go ahead and release the updates without fixes for them anyway. Merely a pinky promise that a fix is coming in a future update.

I don't think the point of experimental is to fix bugs before release. It seems to give them the opportunity to give the devs a 2/3 week head start to fix the bugs it eventually gets released with. That's how it seems anyway.

But why release the update from experimental, essentially forcing it upon the player base, with the bugs not fixed? Who is crying out for the early release of any update that is full of game breaking bugs? No one. Ever.

Every single update the inventory management gets more broken ffs. Any updates on when this might be fixed? I just can't play with it in this state and haven't played since the update was released unfortunately.

They obviously have a deadline and they have to meet it, players be damned.

QC in games in general is shocking at the moment. 

Steam/Sony/Microsoft need to put their foot down with regards to stuff like this. Get it right or it's not going on the store.
