  • Added: shockRefillSpeedConscious parameter to the gameplay settings to adjust the speed at which the player's Shock value refills when the player is conscious
  • Added: shockRefillSpeedUnconscious parameter to the gameplay settings to adjust the speed at which the player's Shock value refills when the player is unconscious
  • Added: allowRefillSpeedModifier parameter to the gameplay settings to allow/disallow the modifier of the shock value refill based on ammo type settings
  • Added: quantmin and quantmax parameters can now be used to randomize quantity in the internal magazines of firearms
  • Fixed: Leaving some entries empty in cfgEffectArea.json would result in default particles, rather than no particles

I have a question about “lightweight” buttstocks — if we remove a buttstock on weapons will it now reduce their overall size in our inventory as it makes sense to do so?

When cooking with the frying pan, can we now see the food being cooked in the first slot, similar to stoves in houses?

Will gas stove emit heat with the light when being used for cooking?

Lastly, I hope there’s some cool and interesting things we can combine alarm clocks with… timed explosives perhaps? 🤔

So you stick my kam in contaminated zones then reduces the power of my m4? What are you guys playing at? Shouldnt you be doing something constructive like i dunno fixing the constant game crashes on the xbox or maybe adding more things to the base building menu. Or how about explaining why the infected can climb over/through player created walls. Or perhaps shal we dare say fix the vibrating dancing through you through the game map vehicles?

So still no change with the flying vehicles? Flying bears? Bears glitching through walls? Weapons glitching through the body while stowed on back?

First of all no mention of lag whilst driving or the game itself crashing when driving secondly the dead or animals for e.g wolves bears etc can glitch through walls or doors even base walls gates etc thirdly the lag that happens on console when you walk into a town where a base is or people are is ridiculous on console I would love to see the creators fix the lag issue (whilst driving or loss of connection issue) on console before bringing out any new guns or changes to the map would be amazing thank you. But with this new alarm are we getting timed c4 or something maybe on later updates 👀 🙏😳

Dear Bohemia Interactive,

I love DayZ. It is currently my favorite game. I have been playing on Xbox since release of the demo version in 2019, and it is the most intense and unique gaming experience I’ve ever had.

An absolutely critical aspect of what makes DayZ unique is random player interactions. Making friends, enemies, meeting weirdos, helping new players, robbing and getting robbed by other players… all of this is enabled by VOIP game chat.

However there is a randomly occurring, game breaking bug where players cannot hear you if you’re talking in VOIP game chat. It will even occur sometimes while you are talking. For example I am with two other players, we are walking along talking, everything is fine, and suddenly they can’t hear me anymore.

I have searched extensively for solutions to this problem, and I have tried them all. None of the solutions I have found work, including resetting console MAC address and hard rebooting.
 

I do not use Xbox party chat while playing DayZ, because I think it ruins the experience. Unfortunately when I’m with a group and VOIP game chat breaks, we are forced to join a party. If I encounter an unknown player and VOIP game chat doesn’t work, an otherwise friendly encounter can turn hostile or players who could otherwise be friends will go their separate ways. Overall it is very frustrating, I feel it ruins the DayZ experience, again because the player interactions are what make this such an incredible game for me.

I first noticed this bug playing on Xbox one X, but I am now playing on SeriesX and I experienced the bug just last night. 

Is there somewhere I can learn more about this bug? I searched the support forums and did not find anything recent. Is QA aware of it, and can we expect a fix at some point in the future?

I just wanna see the lag issue fixed. No more adding new stuff untill you fix the lag. Cars and bears shouldn't fly, cars shouldn't hit stuff you can't even see, my screen shouldn't freeze causing the car to drive on it's own in a random path. Leaving me with a crashed and destroyed car because it ran into a house or into the woods. My car shouldn't lag and get stuck on stuff, rendering it useless. Also, how is that just by running my game will lag? Thus allowing infected to hit and kill me because I couldn't effectly escape them, because of lag? We love the game, just FIX THE LAG LIKE YOUR COMMUNITY WANTS

The road map for 2022 says they are adding aspects of their new game engine to DayZ to help cars. As far as lag goes, old Consoles have way more lag issue than next gen consoles, suggest until you get a next gen try playin and driving in first person to restrict the field of view your console is trying to render in all at once. Don’t drive at all on high pop servers. Also don’t get why everyone is so obsessed with cars, it’s DayZ not Grand theft Auto, sure Cherno is a big map and takes awhile to get from one place to another But cars  are also a “trap”. Easy to die in a car to other players, they can be heard from quite a distance and announce your position, can’t loot while you’re in a car or shoot, and once you park it, it’s a trap for other players to camp and kill you as you go back to it 🤷‍♂️. Play the game however you want but Cars are a recipe for disaster even if you’re on Next gen with great internet speed and don’t have as much lag or bouncing issues.

Is there an unmentioned change in the menu that anyone has noticed? Now my left stick moves the character around, while I'm in the menu. I saw they did it on the experimental, but thought they'd have the common sense not to include it in the next patch. It's game breakingly frustrating. Is this a thing or a glitch? I can't see it mentioned in the release notes.

I saw that. Its the same using the d-pad, as you toggle mic on/off from the menu... Really annoying.

Pretty sure that's intentional. PC has always had that ability and it's a useful way to make yourself a harder target while searching corpses

It works on the PC.

However when you use a controller you use the left stick to navigate the item menus and the face buttons on the right of the controller to perform actions on them. Therefore allowing your character to move in game space in the same direction as the cursor moves in the menu means you have no control over it and end up moving away from the body and loot you are trying to interact with! Intentionally trying to be a moving target will result in the exact same cursor movements in your menu meaning you cannot select anything! If you hide in a bush to manage your inventory you end up 20ft away from it by the time you finish. The right stick will also navigate the menus but you can't then use the buttons at the same time making drag and drop impossible; needing a face button to be pressed and held, cursor moved and then button released. This is impossible to do with just the right hand. The dpad can also navigate the menus but now it turns on and off voice chat and your characters position is given away by flashing your name above you on the screen. 

If this was intentional someone needs slapped!

Well personally i never used the dpad. My thumb is already on the analogue stick, kinda crazy to move it to another button to perform the exact same actions as the analogue stick (always used to) and far less fluently. However you can use the dpad but as already pointed out this now turns voice chat on so your name flashes above your character. This is visible to all other players in the vicinity, even through walls and other objects. So now you cannot interact with inventories in the presence of potential enemies while hidden without giving your position away using either option lol!

Ah, you're on PS. Personally I always use dpad on inventory, it's just quicker and more accurate. But yeah, that sucks about the name tag. I also agree it's annoying that voip is triggered. Voip should be a toggle like it used to be on xbox. Hold to turn on or off. That would avoid the inventory issue.

Yeah it is toggled... by pressing down on dpad twice. Which let's face it, is usually the first thing you do when accessing any inventory lol

Not on xbox unfortunately. You used to hold it down to toggle. Then they weirdly turned that feature off so now you have to actually hold it down while talking

Does anyone know if the Vsync functionality on PS consoles work out of the box or will it require a PlayStation OS update and a vsync compatible screen

use the right analog stick, works for me just like the left stick used to.

I'm not sure If its fixable but alot of players are saying their are hackers and stuff but their isn't....what's happening is once you load in to day z in to any server, everything is invisible except loot and players. What will happen is some players will do this repeatedly and just straight up wall bang you....ik this is happening because I have seen this myself where i load in and see a player that's like 3 or 4 buildings over....other than that the games pretty decent. Ofc the bears can do some crazyyyy glitching and so can the cars but other than that I'm happy :) <3 thx for keeping the game updated and trying to fix everything as much as possible

it is man, for now I use my left thumb over on the right stick and my right thumb on the x button and voila. not ideal and certainly not as it should be but until a hotfix is deployed it'll do for now lol
