Just my opinionated self venting.

 

Okay so the new patch made some big changes.

All the new content and ideas of building bases is great.

But the constant rain or rain and darkness is way over the top.(depressing)

Busy or quiet servers have been looted by the server hoppers.(yay paper)

Twice today I have had a fully geared player materialise in the building with me.(yay dead)

Sound lag is really annoying as you have no clue who's foot steps it was you think you heard.(creepy very creepy)

Removing gear goes to the inventory instead of being discarded. (Hmmm)

Forcing yet another game of will it crash when I look in the inventory.(bugger)

And of course there is the whole KOS culture that is the modern day Dayz community. 

The way Dayz is played is run to a good spot,log,re log,loot,repeat repeat until geared, hunt new spawns or people who are trying to do somthing.

 

The update was a brave move on the company's part.

They should be commended for trying to increase the interest and features of their product.

That's a pretty accurate description of how dayz had always been, so not entirely sure what you were expecting. 

Apparently, battlefield 1 is free on gold at the moment. You might enjoy that more.

I personally never KOS and tend to run around with my mike open at all times & announce myself whenever I see someone (unless there a large group wearing clown masks with bloody hands lol) I haven't been Killed on sight that much tbh, but I tend to stay away from the coast I general. Seems to be where all the inexperienced players coalesce to PVP with stuff they found at coastal barrack and mil tents. Hell I've met people who have been playing from day one and don't know how to craft a bag or cook on a fire or get to the NWAF. Once base building is tweaked so that bases don't despawn randomly & can't be broke Into with ease after testings finished then more people will be spending time building which will promote communication. Also M60 RAPTOR a community manager has stated that the current constant rain is a bug and was meant to be turned of yesterday & it'll be retuned again on Monday, the listened to the community on that one but unfortunately the servers have a mind of there own lol. The bugs are frustrating I agree , I'd advise steering clear of major coastal cities until a optimisation pass has been completed next week at somepoint. Just keep that microphone plugged in and ready to go, because even friendly players like me may KOS on non comms people as I'd assume your part of a team or considering doming me if your silent. 

Way to many non comms players ATM , I'm not suprised they get KOS tbh. If you ain't shoutin friendly you get dead.

The big problem with Battlefield is the player interaction - it's really crappy !  - I  want to talk to folk and make friends but nearly EVERY player wants to KOS all the time.  It makes the game REALLY boring. Jeez..The NPCs are out to get you just because you log in.  What kind of game is that?  Bad design !  - At least, after 18 months they throw the game away and sell you another one. BI don't even do that.

Happened to me also, just after reaching Staroye evac site. Took me almost an hour to navigate in the dark and rain from the coast but that's just one of those Dayz things innit. I definitely wasn't prepared and it taught me a few things for sure. If I was better prepared it may have gone different so I respawn and start off again. Always check your corners!

Man, I I had a PC for a short while after it came out and it is sad to see what people actually make of the ability to be cruel now, but a premise of this game is free will and decision making. 

I have 2 main rules, 1 I have already broken today. Do not server hop. If you want to be better than the others abusing the game, play it smart, work with what you have to make ends meet. You'll feel better when you sign off. I broke that today because of the rain. 

Right now until I find a solid crew to run with with like views so I am a Survivalist, only kill another unless I need to and Live off the land and luck. I say that because if we didn't have the bandits, cannibals, mercenaries, etc... we wouldn't find the game exciting and have it keep us up on our toes, you know. 

I think now that we have building we should start the process of establishing a real known public RP server or put it into BI's ear for white listed servers. I see a good bit on ppl here that seem to go by a code.  

With that said, let's see how Monday goes with clear sky's. Who knows you might run into some friendlies more than usual just happy it's not raining.

Yep dude, it's a steep learning curve littered withe the bodies of dead survivors lol. Always post up and watch military zones for atleast ages minutes before entering and also check all other vantage points over looking military zones too for snipers and ambushes. 

Many an unarmed coastal survivor has wandered into Staroye mil zone and been drilled with hot lead. But the upside is there's a lot of us geared survivors who like to sit in the hills by military spots and provide overwatch for unwitting players in the hope we can dome a bandit or too. Not everyone's kill crazy all the time ;)
