Way to check if voice is working?

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure if my voice is working, I've had to kill 3 people today who didn't seem to hear me trying to speak to them and opened fire, all I got back was stony silence. I'm not sure if they were just dicks and trying to shoot on sight (poorly), or if my mic isn't working. I've tested it in other applications and it's fine, but I can't seem to find an option in DayZ to even increase the transmit volume. A couple of days ago it seemed to be working, though the people were telling me it was very muffled, I'm wondering if it has now clapped out altogether.

There was a bug during experimental that I haven't seen recently though.. new sound engine little buggy possibly. From what i remember its not a constant thing so re-logging or restarting your client should sort it out. You'll have to find someone who's willing to talk to see if it's working.. good luck!

Until I read the word "mic".. I was growing concerned this was IRL.

Would be nice if infected would be proximity attracted to your in-game voice chat.. that way there was some way of testing it if you play alone.

This happened in my group yesterday.  Three of us helped a guy who was battling a pack of wolves by Devil's Castle. and we noticed one of us was only coming through TS, when he was obviously trying to talk to the guy we met in-game.

The bug is still around.

This is already a thing, test it yourself.

Interesting, they did react when I talked to them like you did.

Maybe that zombie used to be a deaf person.
