Espa 711 Posted December 11, 2016 As we all know if you want to survive easily in DayZ at this juncture the solution is to find an apple tree and spam the RNG until you get enough to get Green status. This makes the game easier than it should be and provides an easy escape from the survival atmosphere. It's time to change how fruit trees work mechanically. My proposal is simply this: Add visible fruit to the trees that can be picked one by one until there aren't anymore. These trees can reset every two hours or whatever the Devs deem a good amount of time. Fruit on Tree: 'You have picked an X' No Fruit on Tree: 'There was nothing to be found' 3 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Sqeezorz 839 Posted December 11, 2016 (edited) Good idea, focus should be that the system loads the server as little as possible. Possibly something on client side (character). This would mean that if I do not find anything on a tree (because I have already found many in a certain time), someone else still finds fruits. It would be well to look for different fruits. WE WERE JUST TALKING ABOUT THIS IN THE EXPERIMENTAL THREADS. I swear I feel like I'm 1 of maybe 100 people who have actually followed DayZ dev properly. No offense! Do you mind linking me something? - Or can you explain it a little more depth for me? I think each tree/plant/bush/whathaveyuh will contain an amount of fruit at server start which can be picked clean. I'm guessing they will refresh with server restarts or over a period of time.
