Not sure why you said you got hyperthermic and then ran around dry with heatpacks... Sounds like you thought you had hyPOthermia. You evidently made yourself super hot and didn't have the patience to cool off.

Next time you're hyPERthermic- just find a pond with all your clothes on, get on your belly and crawl around / roll side to side. Not too long or you'll drowned. Once you're "drenched" then just carry on as normal. But if you're drenched don't stay still for too long because you'll get "cold" and actually start shaking... and shaking is a REAL pain in the ass to get past.

It just makes me laugh that this poor bastard was overheating and so he lit a bunch of fires and rolled around in some heatpacks. :D

I'd also try and avoid wearing quite so much, or such heavy clothing. That vest and helmet aren't doing you any favors in the body heat department. Perhaps only wear them when you really expect trouble, just to keep your from doing quite so much heat management. As said above, cooling breaks in ponds works nice. Or put your shirt in your hands while your run, move at slower speeds, etc.

It appears to me that your Hyperthermia got all of the help it needed.

Hypo = under
Hyper = over

Thermic = relating to temperature

Mix and match until you get the correct word for your condition.

Have you tried keeping your pants and jacket inside your backpack as you travel long distances?

In this patch I no longer use vests at all, I don't wear headgear and gloves and keep myself drenched every time I come across open water.

This way you can sprint almost anywhere without getting hot. Of course not wearing a vest makes you a little more vulnerable but I don't PVP any way.

BTW, you don't have to roll in the water, you can simply wade through it and you will get drenched after a while.

OH yup i am starting to learn.... Since returning i found the hyper and hypo to effect me more now with certain gear pieces.

Gorka was my all time fav... until now.

M65 with vest in the summer is hot hot hot even drenched, then you can cool off to cold pretty quickly.

You dont seem to overheat though if drenched.

Sadly i didn't see the hyper, because i ASSUMED it said hypor like the first time. It took me approx 30 minutes to re look at the titles it said. After those pics i took. I was drenched the whole time too.

So after i noticed it i took all my gear off even boots and weapons to cool down in a garage. Approx 10 minutes i thought would be enough.

After a bit i got thinking maybe it was a bug or something and i wasn't overheating, instead of going through all of the time required. I eventually dried off which was bad.

In this patch, assuming you haven't actually fallen asleep at the keyboard, or gone to the pub and forgotten you were in game, you're not very likely to become hypothermic. Even if you are, sprinting around in the sunlight in a Gorka jacket will soon warm you up...

Going for a swim is by far the best way to cool down. Swimming with all your gear on is probably the best way to do it  - and also means you don't run the risk of losing it in a restart. If I can't find a pond deep enough to actually swim in, I go prone under the water and crawl around a bit; that seems to get me nicely drenched.

Again, this is not necessary, walking back and forth through ankle deep water (or deeper) will also get you drenched.

May not be necessary, but it is quicker to get you to 'drenched' status IME.

Holy fuck... we get it already. You don't want to stop drop and roll to get wet faster. Jesus.

Take it easy mate, with sure I simply meant "yes you are right".

The reason I mentioned it is because it seemed to me people had the idea that you can only get drenched by swimming or submerging and I wanted to correct this notion.

Excuse me for trying to help others...
