Rain is fps killer

Recommended Posts

I must admit, i wasn't expecting much from .60... but ive got a fair fps improvement, even with my crappy setup, and the game is enjoyable.

However, when the rain starts to fall, the fps drop is HUGE. So Please, disable rain until its fixed.

I don't have a problem with FPS drops during the rain, and my desktop is 5+ years old.

I see no difference in fps when it is raining. Usually I have around 90-120 fps all the time. Quite a difference compared to pre-0.60 !!

No problem with rain here. I really like 0.60 rain...

My rig is pretty crappy and ancient btw - some AMD PoS and a terrible GPU.

No problem with rain for me either, and I run older hardware:

Cpu: i5 750

CPU: GTX 650 Ti Boost

8 GB RAM (game on SSD)

The two ancient computers I've played .6 on hardly even budge in the rain and have a huge improvement over .59.

The only thing I noticed was the 9 year old desktop would have a very slight drop (5fps or so) but the 5 year old mid level HP laptop is completely unchanged in a downpour, not sure what was different because desktop decided to die.

Well, thanks for sharing guys.

However, today was my lucky day. I was playing with a gt520 (max 15 fps on dayz, i believe ~5fps while raining), today a client of mine gave me his old radeon 7850 for free. fps boost, between 25 and 90.

I suppose rain will not be a problem for me anymore :/
