Remove fog from the coast on sunny days

Recommended Posts

Hi, I would like to see the new fog removed from the coast on a sunny days and keep it on clouded or raining days.

The coast looked beautiful before, now looks quite depressing all the time, please make that fog not present all the time.

I know the developers want us to go inland badly and maybe the fog is one of the reasons for keeping the players moving inland but there are lots of players that like the coast and this is a bad change in my opinion.

I personally will go inland when there are more than 80-100 players, if not is really boring going inland imo, you can be running for hours without seeing anybody.

Thank you!

I think the fog is there so bandits don't have such an easy time sniping everyone. I've seen it quite fog free, though admittedly it always seems to be hazy near the coast. The only town where I observed fog inlands is Novodmitrovsk. It looks kinda right though. Zambies and fog are a winning combination. With hordes and thick fog, I hope there will be situations where you just stumble into them, occasionally.

Fog can exist on coastlines during sunny days in real life.

I live on the humid pacific northwest coast and can 100% agree with that, there's nearby town called Port Alberni that is always foggy in the morning and you don't know if its going to break until 1100 pretty much all year. You go over the mountain pass before you drive down into the inlet the towns built on and it's a clear sunny 25 Celsius summer day, get down town and it's under 10, you cant see past thirty feet, and feels and looks like October/November some days.

The point I was trying to make is there is not any need to be foggy all the time, there are plenty of people who likes to stay on the coast for a reason, main reason being I think, there is more players in the coast.

Some likes to snipe from the hills, I personally enjoy killing those guys but now there are no guys on the hills, some just want to wander around meeting people, others after getting geared in the north likes to come to the coast for killing players, some after meeting players on the coast likes to travel north together etc etc... Now you won't find half of the players you used to see on the coast because of the fog...

So I don't know why the developers have to ruin all those playstiles and force us to play the way they think is better.

I went inland today for 2/3 hours and I didn't see any player or sign of player activity, I don't like going to the north airfield or the other military bases because that's long combat, I like close combat and cities are the best for that, and the more crowded cities are on the coast.

Fog is fine some times but fog all the time I think is not.

Yep, I think it is a newbie sniper pritection - given the amount of spwans in Novo it probably made sense to extend the fog to Novo. But true, a fog only at the coast and permanently there has something surreal

I tend to agree. Loot zones, loot spawns, player spawns is all designed to make us move inland and to kill each other at NWAF, Tisy or Myshkino. Not my cup of "sandbox". But obviously most people appreciate it and granted, it doesn't kill gameplay, so it's probably a fair deal ;)

I'm sure more players will move north as soon as there are better basebuilding, bikes, bicycles, new zones like the infected zone and so on but most of all when there are more players per server, there is no need for rush.

If newbies don't like to be sniped they always can move inland :P   Sniping is far as bad as it was in the mod because there are no 50 cal and such.

There are no huge cities in the middle of the map like cherno, for example merging Novy and Stary Sobor and making a big city around there would attract many players I think.

I don't know about that, I like the fog as it is. Adds a nice atmosphere, I doubt it's sniper protection, that's not the kind of things these devs really do. It's there to be creepy.

Agreed. They didn't add the volumetric fog to the entire coastline to prevent a few people from sniping freshies.

The fog. It's okay now and again, looks sinister.

But dense fog permanently enveloping the coastline? No thanks! Ruins the view.
