When do you talk shit?

Recommended Posts

I'm not saying shit-talking is something to be proud of, or necessary at all, but fuck it. Do you talk shit/taunt in-game? If you do, when do you initiate? Are you a constant shit-talker or do you wait until your jimmies are rustled?

I don't talk shit unless people try to kill me on sight and repeatedly miss me. You deserve to hear me mock you.

The funny thing is I've never been a shit-talker in any other game, but DayZ brings about the worst in me.

In situations where I got the guy surrended and he just doesn't want to save his life and just get out of house with hands up.

I came across a very immature shit-talker this evening and he brought out the worst in me. I don't normally say anything to anyone negatively but this moron bigot racist piece of garbage really got my goat. Why do people like that exist? Such angry little children. What kind of parents or upbringing did these vermin have to be so profoundly unstable and immature?

I had an interesting encounter with another survivor the other day. It was night time, on exp. I had just spawned and was in the process of grabbing some loot , as you do. I checked my inventory ....mmmn I had a flare, I lit it.

Like moths to a flame people came a running, all nice people, very helpful! .....(Not)

Anyways there was this one guy, we didn't speak, we just stood there looking at each other, sizing each other up and down. I said hello, no response... I initiated the happy friendly dance, leaning from side to side...as you do. He responded in kind, but he then raised his hand in a show of peace...but no, his hand went from a friendly hello to "Up yours buddy".

He gave me the bird. Well I never...., I threw my flare at him, obviously blinding him. Dazed and confused he was, I charged full pace at him, punched him in the jaw, down he went. "Goodnight sweet prince" I said as I continued to punch him in the face while making Hannibal lecter type sounds

Do I shit talk? I think not, but the other guy might think differently.

Did it once...

My two friends were talking to fresh spawn in Berezino. They were giving him food, etc. I was about 0.5km away and trying to meet up with them. They really wanted to help the guy...

When I arrived I ran up to the the fresh spawn, shot him in the face with a buckshot and said "OMG Dude! You look fucked up! Are you ok?". My buddy just said stoically "Well... Shit..." -> laughter...

I don't know if that's shit talking, but it was hilarious at the time... Never did it again because going full jerk is not my style. Had to just, well... See how it is just once. :)

I've never understood those kids that are that naturally aggressive in everything they do and when they get angry they just fling out anything to offend someone. It's stupid.

When we are going at it... CQB style, with some random cover between us.

That is the best time to get into their head. ;)

Jake's got the right idea. Shit-talking is a useful skill to develop for just such a situation. Pretty much everywhere else, it's juvenile and useless.

That being said, there's an art to shit-talking someone comically such that even they'd acknowledge the humour. Unfortunately, the young ones are often inexperienced enough that they wouldn't know the difference.

I concur!! A KoS dirt ball that cant shoot for shit deserves an insult or two. If someone has taken a pot shot at me for no reason then I am compelled to hunt the prick down. Of course if there are more than a few folks on the server finding the specific prick that needs to be rubbed out is just about impossible. I would rather let it go than wax another player that isnt a KoS bitch by mistake. I do not associate with other players in-game or try to be buddies or help anyone. The last time I tried I ran across a player with a Kids Pack an Ax and a Mosin (no ammo) wearing a green checked shirt and a motorcycle helmet. The guy had been pounded by a crew of zeds that I shot for him. he was leaking blood rather badly so I approached dropped  a bandage and backed off. For my kindness the guy attacked me with his ax an he was stupid enough to miss. I backed off quickly and filled him full of holes from my SKS just as he deserved. And yes I did talk shit to the clown juts before I put his lights out.
