Well, one reason nobody uses the radios is, because you feel stupid sitting at home and talking to yourself. What the radios need is an option to send out a distress call or breaker signal, so someone else can pick that up and chime in. At least you'll know someone is listening at the other end and don't have to repeat saying foolish things to yourself all the time.

i talk to myself when playing dayz alone anyways so nothing new =P

Good use: Find two, leave one two-way radio at an ambush location of your choice, get in your sniper/observation point. When they approach that area you can talk to them as if you're within talking distance...use your imagination at that point

You "Hey, who's there? I'm friendly!"

Them "Where are you?"

You "I'm in front of the fire station"

Them "wtf? where is this guy? Is that a walky talky on the ground?"

*BOOM sniper shot from the ridge*

'feeling stupid' talking to yourself is a matter of perspective... I play on RP servers.. and some of the stuff I do online... let's just say, you won't hear me saying that stuff on the street.. but this is dayz and some people like RPing/making stories..  no matter how strange they might seem or turn out... I was in a RP clan before and they had a group of crazy people...
like total nut jobs for a character...
if they found you? they'd have 1-2 prisoners without anything on, keeping them alive with minimal food and water, you'd have to strip down to your undies and shirt, then crawl from one city to the next...
while they told you how sexy you looked doing it... and you think talking to yourself is strange? LOL! XD
not even close to what i've seen and sometimes had to do to 'survive' in the lands of dayz XD
i'm never the 'rambo' guy with an M4 or mosin.. a mountain backpack full of ammo.. shouting at people to 'get the F down' and give me all their stuff... I don't like that style of playing..
so that from time to time makes you the weaker person thus being forced into submissive and strage situations all around.

so all in all.. 'talking' to yourself isn't that bad... in my current community i'm in.. people post audio messages on the forum.. doing exactly that.. (looking for survivors) but instead of talking they write it out.
so others have an idea of how that char is.. and what's going on.

I'm of the opinion that they did not do their due diligence in identifying the possible confounding factors in their test groups.  Perhaps there are dietary similarities in their test group that they did not make the proper efforts to identify; like frequently consuming caffeinated beverages and having a diet consisting mainly of Doritos and Hot Pockets.
Or perhaps the type of people drawn to playing violent video games already have those qualities.  I see no concrete causal relationship.  It rather makes more sense that people with such identified qualities would be more apt to play violent video games as a means of safely expressing their pre-existing aggressive thoughts.

Nice try though. ; )

Not really so much referring to his playstyle as much as his overall commentary and emphasis about the game development... Either way- just generally grumpy on the whole thing. I used to be able to sustain myself on the game without wanting to just go out and get fingers on the trigger out of sheer boredom... Those days are long gone.
