Cases

Recommended Posts

There should be weapons cases/bags we can hold in the game so we can easily transport weapons.

Medical Bag:

- Can hold only medical supplies like bandages, rags, and splints.

- 8 slots across and 4 up.

- Can hold weapon just like with civilian case.

Civilian Weapons Case:

- Can hold 1 weapon that take up four slots

- Holds 2 extra magazines for weapons

- Can be fit in a backpack (3 slots high, 2 across)

-- (If in backpack no gun can be pulled from the case from the hot bar)

- Can hold one handed melee weapons/a pistol for self defense (pistol can't be reloaded unless case is dropped/pistols accuracy is decrease, recoil increased, harder to aim. Stats not decreased too much since the case is light in the first place)

Military Weapons Case:

- Can hold 1 primary weapon

- If player has an ammo box and the case is full it can be placed in the case to fit ammunition in it.

- Can't be put in a backpack

- Can hold melee/pistol like with civilian weapon cause (but stats a bit more worse because the case is heavier)

once weight and stamina affect you carry all you want till then enjoy the choices of 2 weapons thats enough we aren't the dude from doom that can carry 10 guns and a BFG9000 it is just silly other wise.

Why?

We can already "transport weapons", by holding them in our hands. Plus, they are instantly available, instead of having to 1) put down the case 2) open the case 3) take out the weapon

Although I am interested in the "medical case", but I would much prefer to see it as an "attachment" for the plate carrier, along the lines of the attachable pouches or holster.

Hell, I think I am going to make a thread about that.

nothing bad about your ideas, but I would love for the development time to go into elements other than new toys, weapons or kits right now. I think we do have quite a choice already, but nothing to do apart from carrying around weapons and shooting out of boredom and dumb lethargy. So I'd rather see them investing their time in game content instead of items for existing aspects of the game at present.

I think that limiting a container to hold only specific items is dumb. It's bad enough a 300 round ammo box only holds rounds, or a medkit only holds rags and stuff.

you can put anything you want in there - since months. things wont change before the new ui is in place. if they changed it back the way it was, that would have balancing reasons - and that aint dumb, cause we play a game, not rl.

the matrix hasnt been invented yet. if you want a realistic ammobox - go buy one.

dont think/hope, that the ops suggestions will make it to the game. fits better to arcade games like h1z1.

I'd rather just see double carrying made easier. It's not something I do because it's such a faff so things might have changed, but here's a couple of features I'd like double carrying to include - though I've got a feeling the first one might already be a thing.

-swap the gun on your back with the one in your hands without having to drop anything

-when you use a bandage/eat something/ whatever your gun is automatically placed back in your hands. There's been a couple of times where I've absent mindedly cut a tree down or something and left my gun behind because I forgot/ didn't realise that I'd dropped it

-the 'ghost' of an item (say a pistol that was in your inventory which is now in your hands) should remain in your inventory, much like it did a few patches ago. This should be optional, however. It's annoying to lose items because you happened to pick something up that filled the lost item's space, so when you go to put that item in your inventory you just drop it. On the other hand it's nice to have slots free up when you have something in your hands. As such I feel that being able to choose how an item is stored (by choosing whether or not to 'reserve' space for it automatically) would be the best of both worlds.

Exactly my thoughts. Why impose illogical artificial limits? There's so many other ways in which small containers could be of value to players, to the point where having a TARDIS style inventory is really unnecessary.

For example, what if containers had both a quick select view and a full view:

- Quick select view allows players to select only a few items from within a container. One item per slot (like the hotkeys). Slots are independent of actual size.

- Full view (name on the tin). Same old inventory tetris game, except it now has an added time delay for access.

- Done this way, it would be faster and more efficient to place items inside small containers displayed in the quick select menu than finding it loose at the bottom of a container.

Think of it like managing files and folders on your computer.
