hunter ii7 0 Posted August 31, 2015 After the patch I have experienced a huge performance drop. I tend to get around 12fps to 18fps which utterly unplayable. I am playing with everything either off or on very low. My render resolution is also at 1600X900. At least before I was getting around 24 which is still unplayable but nice to know that I could at least check up on my favorite game. I am on the break of finally giving up on DayZ. The Arma III Wasteland mod is so much better now it has actually drawn me away from DayZ. It reminds me alot of my old Dayz Mod days but without the zombies :/ That said, I have only seen a couple of zombies in your game. I feel like the game is completely empty, void of life and useable items, just trash. I really hope you guys can improve the performance of the game soon. I hope you also make an easy mode for those of us who like pvp. If you had better performance and a gamemode or at the very least options for the server leaders to have players spawn with rifles and increase the spawn rate of military loot by 200% i would play this game again. I just want to be fun while you work on the survival aspect. I fear that you guys are taking too long and too many players are uninstalling dayz because it is no longer fun. There are no zombies, barely any players, and most of you have the worst frames per second. I can play arma iii at high settings getting 40fps with a 80% render distance. the game is beautiful and the wasteland mod is fantastic. open up the game for modders to make their own maps. I know you are working on getting workshop support but its been 6 months since i last heard about that progress. one of the best parts about the mod was the fact there were dozens of maps to play on to keep things fresh. If you haven't tried out the new wasteland mod for arma iii, try it. its better then the arma ii version and now better then dayz unfortunately. Dayz is the game that got me into PC gaming.Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bitCPU: Intel® Core™ i7-4710HQ Processor (Quad-Core, 6MB Cache, up to 3.5GHz w/ Turbo Boost)RAM: 16GB Dual Channel DDR3L at 1600MHzGraphics Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 06G-P4-4995-KR 6GB 384-Bit GDDR5GPU: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 980M with 4GB GDDR5Graphics Processor: Intel HD GraphicsSound Card: NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device Dolby HD SoundHard Disk: 512GB M.2 SSD (Boot) + 1TB 5400RPM (Storage)NIC Card: Broadcom 4352 802.11 ac 2x2, Killer 1525 802.11ac 2x2 WiFiMonitor: Acer XB270HU bprz 27-inch WQHD NVIDIA G-SYNC (2560 x 1440) Widescreen Monitor

Instead you should spend an hour and read up on the current state of the game. If you are looking for an easy mode, you should definitely play Wasteland or Exile for Arma III, nothing but good old COD spawn-run-die-spawn-run-die action.

Im just saying nobody has awesome frames in this game and you can tweak it to death, with either no effect or some effect, still, its pointless to try at the moment, because the results vary so very much, from PC to PC. I stand by my advice, go play something else for a year and come back to DayZ. We wont have high FPS any time soon, we wont have infected anytime soon and we wont have 200% military loot or "easy-mode" anytime soon.If you keep up playing DayZ now, you will recent it by the time it hits release and proberly wont want to play it anymore. Exile or Wasteland is what you want to play atm or perhaps even H1Z1 Battle Royal. Edited August 31, 2015 by Byrgesen

As for server owners allowing you to spawn with gear and increasing loot drops- not going to happen until modding. It's not something the devs want and if it is to happen, chances are it'll be in the form of a Battle Royal mod.

Pound sand? I dont understanding the reference :) But you are proberly right, i guess. Apologies for coming off as a dick, had a long day, but its not your fault ofc. Still, the OP smells alot like a troll imho. It is very low, but it is also only a 2.5 ghz mobile processor (still quad core, but very midrange i7 though), barely making the minimum reqs and you know how important CPU is for this game, im sure.It would be nice if the OP could confirm what GPU is used during gameplay? Is your processor set to "turbo" settings in BIOS? Also, dont compare Arma to DayZ, Arma is a whole other beast and theres so much more that determines FPS, then DayZ.You can keep the same setting in Arma and get anywhere from 15-200 FPS, depending on the server, mission, mod and amount of AI/items/vehicles/players on the map. Some of the same things apply to DayZ, but far from all of them and much of the information is handled in a very different way, hence Enfusion engine. Maybe go play another game or get a hobby for a year or so , dayz moves slow but guaranteed will be multiplayer game of the year when it's fully released . byrgesen 1341 Posted August 31, 2015 (edited) even at 2.5ghz that i7 would have no issues. I run this game with that cpu paired with a lesser 870m and it runs like a dream. Runs like a dream?Thats a statement ive not heard, regarding DayZ, in a very very very very VERY long time.Honestly i dont believe you and the forums is littered with evidence of the contrary, so lets just leave it at that and focus on the OP. @OPIf you would be so kind as to provide some more information: 1. What graphics card is used when you launch the game?GPU monitoring tools should be able to provide this information easily. How to force steam games to use Nvidia card, instead of onboard card:1. Go to the NVIDIA Control Panel by right clicking on your desk top and clicking on "NVIDIA Control Panel".2. In the default screen that pops up (it should be "manage 3D settings", and the "Program Settings" tab should be automatically selected), under "1. Select a program to customize:" hit the "Add" button.3. From here, navigate to the folder where your steam games are located. For me, it is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common.4. Select the folder for the game you want to use your NVIDIA card for, and find the .exe for that game (it's usually right in the main game folder). Select it and hit open.5. Then, under "2. Select the preferred graphics processor for this program:" open the drop-down menu and select "High-performance NVIDIA processor".6. Finally, hit apply in the far bottom right corner, and you should be good to go! 2. Is your CPU running at stock speed (2.5 ghz) or have you enabled turbo setting in the BIOS/UEFI?Depending on your cooling setup, it might not be a good idea to enable it, its basicly overclocking at a "factory tested" level. 3. Have you tried any of the "how to optimize DayZ" guides on google? If not, give it a go. Some people get good results, some people get no results, it varies greatly. 4. Do you have the latest GPU drivers installed?A reinstall or update would never hurt. Newest Nvidia driver is also very important for Windows 10, so make sure its the latest WHQL version (currently 355.82, released today!) 5. Do you have alot of background processes running? If you do, try software like gamebooster and see if it makes a difference. I also want to add that in many instances you will get the best FPS if you match your rendering resolution with your actual resolution (100%) Edited August 31, 2015 by Byrgesen
jayfkay (DayZ) 185 Posted August 31, 2015 I dont know why you can get performance drops? I put my config files on read only and thus always have the exact same settings no matter what patch.58 actually gave a decent boost in performance for me because of the complete abundance of Zs and a lot less items in cities I assume. wasnu (DayZ) 392 Posted August 31, 2015 BTT the mod was not and will not be better than the SA. only 5 enterable houses, broken legs at every barn or metal gate and so on, THAT was the mod before "idiots" make it to an build the highest tower and we rule this server. i loved the mod, i tried to play it 3 weeks ago, it was and is crap! the SA will be the best dayZ expirience you will ever get, in my opinion. arma3 is nice and smooth but started also laggy like the SA is now. patience is the key and not "hmmm..you know 85, this was a great year...blablabla"
boneboys 7988 Posted August 31, 2015 I tend to get around 12fps to 18fps which utterly unplayable. I am playing with everything either off or on very low.The problem and solution is most certainly related to the above quote.Take note of Byrgesen's post, performance has increased with this build (0.58), excepting certain circumstances which are acknowledged as a known issue. Do not compare Wasteland with DayZ, ever, be it Altis, Stratis or the imported Chernarus.
