ReLogin at server reset and you insta die bug?

Okay. This happened to me twice now in two days on stable. Once, while getting a disconnect in a bus, as a fresh spawn. And now, just a few minutes ago, while fully geared up lying under a bush.

 

Okay, this is DayZ and it is still in early access. And i fully understand that, and i am not upset or anything. But, is anyone else experiencing this? Or does it happen because the character can't stand up right while loggin in? (first in a bus, second under a bush) (the second time it happened, i waited a bit to reconnect (servertime was 05:45))

If you log in too soon after a server restarts you can lose your character. Were you rushing back on the moment it looked like the server was up?

if you rejoin and it says "wait for host" for more than 5 seconds, back out and try again in 1-2 mins

a good indication it's back up is if there are 5+ players already in there....typically.

i had the same thing happen to me, but it wasnt a server reset. i logged in  after not playing in 4 days on the new school building (2nd or 3rd floor, the one with the ladder to the roof) and i climbed up to the roof and took a few steps and instantly black screen 'you are dead'

It said, "You are dead" instantly. Im now frapsing my every login :p

If you logged in to it saying "You are dead" there is a very good chance your Status' (Energized, Hydrated) were bugged and you possibly died of Dehydration instantly upon login. :/

...or someone put an Axe in the back of your head the second you spawned.

I don't like to record all my follies, well, I die a lot, but anyways.  If you have an nVidia card Shadowplay (through  has a cool "record last 5 minutes" button.  OBS and a few others offer a similar feature as well.  Then you wouldn't have to worry about recording every login or moment.  You can change time to record and such, but you get the gist of it.

I remain fearful of my status since I've read of quite a few people who went from fully energized / healthy to dying of starvation during a reset or changing servers. 

 

And keep in mind that quite often your character will appear 5-20 seconds or so before you can see. And instead of being crouched under a tree you'll be standing. I had someone spawn into the room I was in once... he was teched out and in Berezino so I killed him (didn't feel great about it but there it is). Not sure what he saw when he actually got in but I suspect it was probably the same you did.

You die of starvation from what I call the status glitch.  If your energy and hydration levels don't change no matter what you eat or drink or time on server, you need to log off the server and back in to fix it.  Or just eat and drink regularly and know your limits.
