hemmo 55 Posted June 16, 2015 So i found this ammo box today. Strange item. It just takes up as much space as the items that go inside. So whats the point of it?
darkrider400 76 Posted June 16, 2015 If you take some hits from zeds or something, it'll take damage instead of the ammo taking the damage. Unfortunately, it only holds about 120 rounds (200 .22 rounds) of anything.
JohnMcClane 19 Posted June 16, 2015 (edited) Keep in mind the item description says that the cannister says something to the effect of "says it holds 300 rounds", not that it is a 300 round storage container. A 7.62x51 can will hold 200 rounds of such, and maybe 500 rounds of 5.56. Different rounds are differently sized obviously. Perhaps this is a mechanic that they plan on implementing with this container. I did notice this myself though. Edited June 16, 2015 by JohnMcClane
ZomboWTF 527 Posted June 16, 2015 well it used to hold 300 rounds of 5.56 and .22, i don't know why they would nerf it, maybe they buffed the damage the box can take? nerfing the protector cases makes sense, since they have no downside to ammoboxes or medkits, which only can be filed with specific items, but nerfing the ammobox makes no sense to me

Sanguise 6 Posted June 16, 2015 i think its a bug, all the speicla inventory items are bugged, ammo box medkit and sm protector cases
ZomboWTF 527 Posted June 16, 2015 Does it make sense that a container with a certain volume can carry a larger volume?did you ever put as much clothing as you can into a plastic bag, unfolded, and then folded? if the container is designed to hold some type of content very efficiently, like stacking it in just the right way, yes, a container can be more space efficient than throwing the stuff in loose

I did notice this myself though.whats listed on the container is not how many the container can hold, its the standard amount packaged in them. they do not come as ammo cans full of loose rounds. this is a "420 round" military ammo can(ss109/m855 green tip) from the factory. If I remove the packaging/stripper clips and magazine loader I could probably fit at least twice that amount of ss109 rounds into the can. this is how it comes from the factory. hellcat420 212 Posted June 16, 2015 (edited) Which is what I said..no its not. a "300" round 5.56 can is able to hold more than 300 5.56 rounds. the amount listed is the standard amount that is packaged into the can from the factory, not how many the can is able to hold. while it is true that a "200" round 7.62 can will fit more 5.56 ammo, its not the same thing. a standard 200 round 7.62 ammo can will hold more than 200 7.62 rounds if you remove the packaging/stripper clips. Bororm 1156 Posted June 16, 2015 I think containers are bugged, they don't make sense. I don't think they actually offer much protection for the contents either. They made some big inventory changes if I'm not mistaken which is why the inventory is such a mess right now, this is likely a byproduct of it.

yazar8 584 Posted June 16, 2015 Since you can store items in containers that you are not supposed to, such as vests, the current inventory system is still not complete. Therefore they nerfed it to 4 slots (usually 8 slots) so it takes a meaning when it is 8 slots. And since you can put any item inside the ammo box, they decided to nerf it that way. It will be fixed.
